I played the Beta on Xbox One and PS4. I have preordered the game. I like some parts of it and hate others.
-I like how NYC is recreated. Very cool. I like being able to just wander around. In the group I played with, it was split 50-50 as to if we liked that aspect or not. Several of the other guys I regularly play Destiny with thought it took too long or was too boring because of the distances you had to walk from place to place. I didn't mind that.
-The 3rd person aspect is ok. Sometimes I love 3rd person, sometimes I don't. In this case, I'm fine with it because its different from Destiny.
-I hate the bullet sponge factor. Completely not realistic. Destiny can get away with it because you are fighting aliens.
-I like the grind factor/loot system. Its one of the things I love about Destiny. I hate linear reward systems like COD. Boring...
-There are two factors that I believe will disappoint a lot of people ultimately. They may not admit it at first, but, in the long run, it will be an issue:
1. A lot of people that complain about Destiny do so because it is a game that generally requires a fire team, i.e.: Friends that play and help you. Many of the comments I've ready indicate that they think The Division will be more solo friendly. After playing the beta, I think its the opposite. I think the Division is much more team oriented. If you don't like the grind in Destiny, I believe you will have issues with The Division as well.
2. The fact that PVP and PVE elements of the game are separated is going to ruin a lot for many. One of the things I love about Destiny is that I can do the raids and strikes and grind in PVE and get really good gear (or gear to infuse) and then take it into PVP. Some good gear drops in PVP (Party Crasher, Ash Factory etc..), but in general, more drops in PVE. In the Division, they have repeatedly stated that the best gear is in The Dark Zone. What is the point of grinding to level up the PVE part, when that level will not help you in the PVP part. Bad decision on Ubisoft's part IMO. When I get the game, I will immediately try to level up the DZ side first. (obviously with a group of friends as I don't want to be repeatedly -blam!- over and over as a solo player)
Anyway, I think the Division will be fun, but I doubt it will take away my playing time from Destiny. While there may not be as many things to do at the moment, I still have a blast playing trials and doing the challenge modes in the raid.

2. You won't unlock perks and abilities or ability mods unless you pve.

1 RespuestaI've seen footage. Everybody is so spongy. You unload vast amounts of ammunition into a guy just to knock him to a knee; it takes another few shotgun blasts to the sternum to kill him. Is there an explanation for that, or do we just roll with it?

4 RespuestasEditado por PeetSquared: 2/2/2016 5:02:10 PMI really, really enjoyed my solo time in the DZ. It was hella different than running with a team but still so good. I'll still play both games, though. Aside from loot, I don't see a ton of crossover. Since I don't have much to do in Destiny, I'll play events and then go back to the Division or any other game I might be into at the time. Variety is the spice of life and it's ok to dig more than one game at a time, as the OP suggested.

Editado por Grim6I9: 2/2/2016 5:01:56 PMCause all these "solo" players saw SAO and figured they could be like him. Meanwhile in ://hack.... Lmao Although if the division was first person I'd probably buy it. I'm just not a fan of third person games. Gta and prototype are about as far as I'll go on the shooter aspect and even then you don't have to use a gun in prototype.

Editado por YahyaTV: 2/2/2016 5:01:27 PMYes, the Division is very team oriented, but it's so easy to matchmake if your solo. First day, I matchmade for the mission, freeroam and darkzone. You can use the social hub, mission> matchmake or options automatchmake, or simply invite a nearby agent to your squad (I used all the options, which all worked perfectly fine). We did perfectly fine in dark zones,, as we were running around in a group of 4, nobody wanted to challenge, we managed to extract tons of loot. Bullet sponges are expected, it's an rpg before its a shooter. Dark zones and standard pve loot drops are exactly the same, dark zones just have a higher probability to drop better gear. This was confirmed in a podcast. I don't mind the walking, sometimes it gets tedious and we rotated if I was playing with friends, saying you go to checkpoint, I'll fast travel to you once I've sorted my inventory.
I think an FPS, and an 3-rd person tactical shooter should have very different bullet/damage requirements. In FPS, a few bullets to die makes for OK mechanics; since it suits how the game play works. In a 3rd person tactical based battle system, it would be really bad if you just fell over after getting hit with 2-3 bullets... ESPECIALLY when you have a mess of people and bullets flying everywhere from both NPCs and other players. There simply would be extremely short lifespans leading to no gunplay at all. In Division mechanics, you CAN live to fight another day (by running away after being shot at, knowing the landscape, planning escape routes, etc).
1. Not so mention, because of the mechanics, survivability chance is greatly increased. It's easier with a team, but I think it can also be done solo for those who prefer it... it's just harder; and some may actually appreciate and enjoy that challenging aspect of playing that way. The DarkZone rank seems to only affect the requirement for purchasing said items from the DZ vendors. There is a difference between LEVEL and RANK; and from your post/description you seem to be unclear on that aspect. Destiny has the same mechanic for faction and vanguard vendors; Destiny just only has different system since its only based on 2 relevant ranks (2 and 3).

2 RespuestasI think the game has potential. I know there wasn't much we can do in beta but personally I enjoyed it. Some vendors outside the PVP zone did sell a purple drop gear. I like Destiny and all but I think the grind for all your gears to be 320 is tiresome IMO, and doing the raid for probably the 100th time or so gets repetitive. Can't wait for March 8th to try out The Division though.

2 RespuestasJust something to think about here... What if the first was rpg before shooter? Yes it's unrealistic, but what rpg is realistic? I'm also not sure why you think you can't use PvE stuff in PvP or that PvE level doesn't matter in PvP? From what I noticed was that once you hit lvl 8 in PvE it put you in a different bracket in PvP. So i imagine that the higher levels all have different brackets. Different loot drops, you'd have not abilities, perks, and talents at higher levels. Your BOO(base of operations) upgrades enhances your abilities by mods. The best gear might come from the dark zone but that's not to say that it's the only gear you should use. What I do like is having to meet requirements to unlock the talents on various weapons. What I don't like is getting one/two shot in PvP while they take maybe 1/3 dmg from me. I realize they have better gear. But if one guy can take down a group of 3 just by having stupid gear... As far as the pve side goes I like being able to roam the city as I please. But I'm kinda disappointed there's only so many buildings you can enter. Maybe it's more open in the full version. I'd like to be able to explore more of the inside of buildings especially the big ones. Running some times suck when you have to go back to base and run all the way back across the city if your by your self. Personally I enjoyed my time with the beta. I'm hoping for a more satisfying game than destiny is. I will also probably play destiny here and there probably less than I do now. Which is equivalent to about 6 hours a month if my friends are on it.
