For Boogeyman; Closed
The memories were intoxicating. They could have drowned anyone, but they aggravated him to no end. He hated, he loved, he pressed forward. Even if this being was only the fabrication of memories, Matthias needed this. Maybe this new being would find some salve for the exuding hate and darkness that sought to destroy him.
For Tiberius though, it was just too much work.
Walking up to the figure he placed a hand on his shoulder. A flare of power was acknowledged somewhere in the Golden City and away they went. Tiberius teleported himself and the Memory man to where Matthias was at the end of the Golden City. On a dusty broken road Matthias walked. Already alert due to Tiberius using his power Matthias stood ready. He had only look up though and a chill shot through him. Tiberius face was serious, deadly serious. He stepped away from the man and Matthias walked over.
Looking at the Memory Man Tiberius said aloud. "This was Akron's greatest achievement. The joy that over came any evil, hate, or darkness. This is Matthias. He is not only a legacy he is a son, a piece of his father. He above all and anything deserve the chance to be half the man his father ways. If you really are the culmination of Akron's memories, then do what Akron could not. Use Akron's life to teach the boy. Don't let that man's life go to waste unwritten or forgotten. In that way... find your salvation."

He looks at Mathius searching for an emotion inside him. It was a sea of conflict inside, one moment would be a calm and tranquil state while the next an upheaval of violent memories. There was nothing to say that would upset either side so he spoke bluntly. "You've grown."
-
Matthias stopped before the men. "I have. A lot since... Well I'm sure you last remember." He seemed nervous.
-
Editado por boogeyman333: 1/18/2016 1:23:01 AM"Since I remember what? When I Was born? Or since he died? There's a difference between us two and you don't want to choose unwisely." He jabbed a finger at Mathius with a growl "Your father is dead. He has always been dead. Ever since he decided to step out of that portal when he killed the Summoner and check on Nikki, he sealed off his ultimate fate."
-
Matthias looked to Tiberius for assurance. The older of the two didn't blink. The firm state offered little assurance, but all the caution Matthias needed. The young man attempted to tread carefully. "Yes, I realize this. Mother would not have lied. She changed one day. For the worst I believe, but I know why. She loved him. Truly, truly loved him. If I learned anything from her it was to love even if it hurt you." "I don't mean to make you angry. But if my father died or his fate was set when he met my mother... Could you possibly tell me about my father in those times then?"
-
He slaps his head once and looks to the ground with a dazed look. "He was a man of simple intentions. He would rather fight and die for a cause than be one of the people that needed the cause. Often a lot of his arguments ended with force. He was exceptionally ruthless to his enemies. But he harbored a kindness for...why?" He pressed his index finger against his temple. However his helmet was in the way so he ripped it off. It revealed the face of the man that long since passed. The face of Akron. He proceeded to press his finger against his head again "It's clearer now. What I remember. I had more friends. Tell me about her."
-
Matthias began. "Mother loved him. She said it wasn't just his looks, but his very soul. She remembered after the summoner and on the citadel when he came through the portal. She said for the first time, in a long time, she felt safe." "It wasn't an instantaneous decision. Mother said she was proud for her age. After a short talk with him though she was ready to follow him anywhere. She thought that was when she began loving him and it just grew from there. She used to joke that he must have cast a spell on her. When she looked at him the rest of the world cleared. Things became simpler." "Even now that's how to bring her back to life. When I ask her about Akron her brown eyes jump to life. Her face lights up and she doesn't seem so world weary. Her hair is still long. She said he liked it long so she keeps it that way. I used to play with Mothers hair."
-
"Yes the hair. Such a rich color. Tell me, is her light the same? I remember that. Yeah she was afraid that it wouldn't mix well with me. Attached the arm just fine. Did I ever tell that story? Bittersweet times I tell you. It was heart wrenching when I told her I couldn't settle down because of my duties." His complexion begins to flicker, the paleness of his skin began to darken. A body made of shadow began to harden, turn to flesh. "It was quite the opposite you see. She made me feel at peace. The first night after I met her there was no terror. No ghosts of my pasts haunted my sleep. You wouldn't believe how quickly they came back in her absence." He flexed his arm, feeling the muscle beneath instead of hate. "She is still alive. And you are still alive. We may yet be reunited again."
-
Editado por blackwolf619: 1/18/2016 5:57:37 PMAt this point Matthias held back tears much to Tiberius concern. "Yes, she used to laugh about that. She would say that you were a silly lover and she would love you even if you were only a head. She absolutely adored you. Positively. Her light..." Matthias looked away, unable to speak.
-
"Yes I-" His face hardens again as he seems to recognize something "No imposter. I won't let you take them." Behind Mathius and the man a pool of shadows form.
-
Tiberius steps back. His brow clouds as he begins to realize the harsh reality of his situation. Matthias shadow steps between Tiberius and the man of memories. He draws his sword, which was actually his Mothers, Nikki. "Ah, I met this one earlier. Not too friendly."
-
From the shadows another man stepped out. Mathius would recognize him as the Akron who did not know him. "Mathius right? We should stop meeting like this. What are you doing here." He draws his sword and faces the copy.
-
Matthias cracks a smile. "Listen, I happen to like meeting you. It's good practice and I know I need it."
-
"You're going to beat on..." He turns to face the copy and his body language revealed disbelief "Me? Who is that?"
-
"Honestly I have no idea. But he tried to kill me once. I'd like to see him try again." Matthias gripped the sword lightly. It was so familiar in his hands and the thrill of a fight caused the sword to awake. It only drove his desire to fight this shadowy figure.
-
"Together then. Very well. I'll attack the front you circle around and flank whichever is his weak side." Meanwhile the shadow began to take on its shadowy features as it grew more pale and angry. "This is what I was here for now I remember. Kill kill. Kill imposter, kill traitorous son!" He drew his weapons and vanished in shadow. Akron lunged forward and swung down. The copy reappeared and locked his right blade with Akron. He raised his left and swung. Akron ducked to avoid the attack but the copy spun and kicked Akron staggering him back a step. He shadow blinked and reappeared again kicking Akron again sending him rolling on his back. The copy turned his attention to Mathius and swung.
-
Matthias charged. An invisible gauntlet held off the shadows blade as he swung the blade at the man's throat. The movement agile and swift was close to a spin with the force he put into the blade. Tiberius stiffened, but stood back.
-
writer's block acting like a muthafuka
He ducks under the swing and dashes behind Marhius grabbing his arm and twisting hit behind his back. He then proceeds to swing down again.
-
Matthias is used to a dangerous kind of play. Tiberius had hated Matthias when they first met. How did the young boy know? Because Tiberius had tried to break every bone in his body. A sadistic hate for anyone Tiberius was asked to care for only stemmed from fear of his parents. Still. Matthias was well versed in the art of exchange, give & take. Disjointing his arm the young man turned so the downward blade passed in front of his chest. As soon as the blade was low enough Matthias shoved his own blade right at the offenders chest.
-
Rather than attempting to dodge the attack he dropped his weapons and brought his hands up to catch the sword. He grabbed the edge of the weapon bringing its momentum to a halt. He slid back as the force pushed him, but he didn't yield. Blood began to drip down his hands as he let it a low and menacing laugh. With one hand he still kept hold of the blade. With the other, the blood dripping from his palm began to harden and sharpen into spikes. He made the strike but before contact was made Akron leaped back into commission and shoulder charged the assailant. They both rolled to recovery at the same time and began to engage, giving Mathius time to prepare.
-
Seeing the spike form Matthias knew he needed to disengage. But his orneriness made him block with his arm and shoulder while pressing the sword to its point. Luckily Akron's action gave Matthias just the time needed to seriously think and not be brash. He popped his shoulder back to place and re-entered the fray. Despite the pain which he reissued as a powerful surge, Matthias brought the sword across in a powerful arc at the enemy. He lost no time in keeping the enemy busy at the least. Tiberius froze. Out of calculation or distress no one knew. He was good at hiding his feelings and luckily the fight was directed away from him.
-
The copy noticed the swing of the blade and in the split second of seeing Mathius advance, grabbed Akron by the shoulder and swung him around putting his body into the arc of the swing. Akron's face showed a look of shock and pain as the light from the blade cut burned through his armor and flesh. It ate at his very essence. The copy then kicked Akron's body at Mathius sending Akron flying into Mathius.
-
Matthias was really good at making bad decisions. As such he had learned to minimize the consequences as quickly as possible. Especially when against his bezerkish mother. The sword ate at Akron's shoulder, but Matthias managed to stop the blade in its arc. He turned it and drew it closer to himself as he caught his comrades body. "Geez with the dirty play!" Seeing the exchange Tiberius frowned. "Matthias stop fudging around!"
-
He dashed in close and let off a shockwave of shadows sending them both flying back. "If you knew your father any better they'd be a lot more foul."
-
Matthias braces as a shield goes up to protect him. "Dude you need to get your granny panties untwisted and freaking lighten up, sour puss. I mean seriously who goes around picking fights... I... Tiberius." The young man looks shocked. He stays silent and steps back. Tiberius looks serious. There are no games he wishes to play. Silently he draws a blade from thin air. Silver and laced with some blue elements it glistens with a dark aura. As serious and frightful as his expression was the opposite character of the sword. It was beautiful and intricately detailed with runes markings and scrollwork. One might wonder as to whether the sword was all for show or actually had some deathly consequences.
-
"So you want a piece too huh light? Well come on. I'm getting sick of fighting it anyway." He turns to Mathius and looks at him with disdain. "I don't know what's been teaching you, but the son I would raised wouldn't be so stingy to avoid a fight. You are no child of mine."
