It insults me because marrige between a man and a woman was and has always been honored and sacred. It's the ultimate display of affection to have that kind of commitment. With making men able to Mary men and vise versa for women, it has degraded that honored position of marrige. It's offensive because it made my parents marrige look like a joke, my friend's marrige look like a joke, and my ideas of getting married in the traditional family unit THAT WORKS look like a joke. That's why it offends me so. Every society before their demise has destroyed the family unit... It's happening again.
Yell at me all you want... Homosexual marrige offends me greatly for that reason. Don't you dare go off the wall and try to accuse me of bigotry and offending you

Editado por superassassin364: 1/17/2016 8:53:28 PMSo you think a couple that truly love each other but happen to be the same gender corrupts marriage more than people getting married primarily for financial reasons?
btw, how exactly has the existence of homosexuality made your parent's marriage look like joke? Shouldn't marriage be your parents and family's business, not really anyone else's?

So you think a couple that truly love each other but happen to be the same gender corrupts marriage more than people getting married primarily for financial reasons? I would hardly call it love... Marriage has a societal function.. Or at least it used to.

So all you have is an argument from emotion? Sorry things change as society progresses and just because you can't handle it emotionally doesn't mean people should restrict others rights to cater to your fragile feelings.
So all you have is an argument from emotion? Sorry things change as society progresses and just because you can't handle it emotionally doesn't mean people should restrict others rights to cater to your fragile feelings.
As far as I've been concerned. This whole deal has been about emotion. I can handle it, unlike some people that have promoted gay marriage. It really isn't a matter of rights more than it is appeasement. Many core leaders of the gay marriage movement never made it about gay love... It's main goal has been to destroy traditional marriage and it has succeeded. As far as societal progress, with homosexuality being active, eventually... There will be no society to progress. A culture/society needs to maintain birth rates... Which means if some families opt out (I.e. Homosexuals. Which by the way, serves no benefit to the human species) then we have declining birth rates. Look to Europe (which many Americans seem so fond of...) is in decline and that was only after these new progressive policies were in place. Returning to gay marriage, only 20% of gays are married there and they have had marriage laws implemented... You sir are a prophet are a dark age
-
NEWS FLASH MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT GAY!!!!! SO MIND BLOWING!!!!
-
It's actually very much about equal rights that's the whole reason for the gay RIGHTS movement. And yes society does need to maintain birth rates but guess what, and stay with me here: Not everyone is gay, in fact most people aren't so birth rate won't be a problem. And lastly "a prophet for the dark ages" you're a nut job.
-
Your op was about emotion. The "equal protection" argument is for legal benefits associated with marriage.
-
That wasn't my only argument though
-
Yes it was. You added in your responses to other arguments. None of these have any applicability in court.
-
They are still arguments, and we're not in court wth?

So true
