There is no need to keep the game fresh in the way the sandbox team is doing currently.
People don't want that anymore.
What we want is a stable meta, with well defined weapon characteristics and no clear outliers of weapons which are OP. There should be certain weapons/weapon classes, for certain tasks and play styles. And they shouldn't change every 3 months.
A friend of mine said something very interesting about this subject:
When everything is OP, nothing is OP.
Your player base has had enough of rotating metagames and endless nerfing.
Bungie made Halo, Bungie has partnered up with the publisher of CoD.
2 games which never had the necessity to have rotating metagames or an ever changing balance.
It's time to learn from the history of both companies.
Edit:
I wonder if Bungie will answer to this Topic.
Let's make it trending^^

1 RespuestaThe problem with this meta is that it is a complete mess. Last meta was far better - players think the MIDA is op this meta which is totally wrong - do the nerf MIDA crybabies only play 6v6 cause the MIDA is weak in rumble and 3v3 skirmish that's why in the recent PS4 and Xbox tourney no players used it at all - that's because it still is a pea shooter. They all used the Thorn and Last Word and that's where the problem is now- Last meta you could get the op weapons Haksaw and PDX-45 pretty easy and play any playlist with them rumble, 6v6 and 3v3 they where the guns players sweated with. Now anyone new to TTK is left out in the cold this meta because the thorn is so unattainable. and the last word could be hard to get so these poor year 2 players are at a disadvantage and left uncompetitive in rumble and 3v3 and if they want to sweat then they can't do that either. Big clap on the back for you bungie and the sandbox team. Also how can I still be getting blink shot gunned? it's like some kids never got nerfed and can still shotty mid blink and before their feet hit the ground. And I am not talking about the switch weapons glitch. The time to shot after blinking is delayed for me so why not others?

There will never be a static meta because players will always seek ways to subvert the current meta. No matter what game it is, the meta of an informed player will always rotate. If there was only one correct way to play the game, who would want to play?
-
Just wait until they implement Gold in to the game currency. Why else do you think they started with Silver?
-
1 RespuestaLost Sols made a post like this and Cozmo replied basically saying that they rotate the meta on purpose. So this is just our life now. A new OP gun every few months
-
I guess that Bungie doesn't deem this thread worthy of a response. I just want to understand the rational behind nerfing whole weapon classes to death. Because it feels very irrational and slightly, pardon me, dumb.

1 RespuestaStop using the word meta already. No one used that word until The Flash TV series came out. Freaking wanna be band wagon.
-
1 RespuestaCan't remember if I bumped this today.
-
1 RespuestaIt's time to stop using the word "meta" when talking about weapon balance. A group of the most popular and powerful weapons to use currently does not relate.
-
4 RespuestasIt'll stop in Destiny 2.

4 RespuestasBump. And I agree with jcald1978 that we should be wary of power creep (which would be a rad gamertag, btw).
-
1 RespuestaI agree to most of this post, I don't want a power creep of balancing up though. I am very tired of the meta switching, my friends and I use to play 3 to 4 hours a night now we play 3 to 4 hours a week. It has a lot to do with the "balancing." The lag in Crucible gets pretty annoying too. I think if they put the weapons at there peak performance levels the game would be really fun again. Scouts would need a little buff but everything else would be powerful and fun to use again.

1 RespuestaWell in halo everyone has the same 2 guns. Kinda hard to make that unbalanced
-
3 RespuestasTrue this.
-
1 RespuestaHonestly, it's time to stop with this game period! Let Bungie prove to the masses that they can actually provide a 100% fleshed out game, with a full and coherent story.

1 RespuestaAgreed. We want ALL weapons to be powerful and viable. Stop creating flavor of the month meta weapons that the bad kids can use as a crutch and let actual skill separate the men from the crucibabies.

3 RespuestasEditado por basebalbasebal14: 1/7/2016 8:39:08 PMNo one experiments. People find one thing, learn how to use it really well, everyone starts using it that one way, and boom it's op. Then they see the words "slight decrease" next to a weapon or class or something in the patch notes and in the process of analyzing those words it turns into "made completely and utterly useless" even though it is not. But then people never use it again and are to stubborn to experiment with any other weapons because they pick up something else, figure out how to use it well, and the cycle starts all over again
-
13 RespuestasWell too bad that you simply can't do that as long as you don't separate PVE from PVP. If you want your shiny toys in PVP, you don't get it balanced, ever. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
-
Ageed and that being said the current meta is the worst yet. Change it quickly but do it right. Reduce the special ammo for god sakes.

1 RespuestaBungie, can you please for 5 minutes stop swimming in our money and eating caviar and reply to the op's post? The only people who maybe care about a new stale boring meta every 4 months are Jon Wisniewski and Luke Smith. But they're not gamers (anymore). They just love the money and have no love for the game. Get rid of those megalomaniacs and fix this game!!! Starting with getting servers and fixing your billion error codes.

3 RespuestasJust Un nerf all the nerfs and it will balance it all out lots of op weqpons to choose from giving the game more balance
-
1 RespuestaFunny thing is , its not intentional , they don't know how to balance all weapons :most pulse rifles are glaringly weak with the nerf, hand cannons still have the cone mechanism that prevents rapidly fired shots from getting same trajectory frequently , ARs with the exception of the bullet hoses with a high stability build suck in general, and scouts are majority used not because they are OP , but because they are not nerfed to the ground . Mida is a perfect example of this, its balanced but the consistency makes it seem unbalanced.

12 RespuestasDon't act like nerf cries is a Destiny only thing. I like a game that switches it up a bit. I could keep playing the same thing and eventually get bored or I can play a game that changes up enough to keep my interest. I was playing the shit out of the South Park game, then SRL came around and I dropped it
