How stupid do you think this community is? The description IS LITTERALLY IN THE NAME.
AIM. ASSISTANCE.
IT HELPS YOU AIM.
If you are still lost at this point, and believe me, the people who say the quotations in the description probably are, it is how much "Stick" your sights have on the target.
So. You can, drag, snap, aim, lock, and kill your target with your sights with much more ease. That's why when an enemy gets in the way of your target it causes your sights to move. The higher the AA number, the more noticable the effects listed will be.
Now you know why it's called the 1000K crutch.
And to all you fools still trying to defend this weapon by saying Her Benevolence and other year 1 snipers also had high AA, I have 2 things for you.
1: I guess either you forgot about the Thorn and TLW crisis, or the amount of people who say they are Beta testers and Year 1 players are little lying piglets.
2: While those sniper did have a pretty good AA stat, none of them had THIS high of a stat as the 1000K crutch. For the ones that DID, you could not get hidden hand on them. If you still say that the other sniper had higher AA, refer to 1. It's an endless loop.
If you have any other desperate stabs and lunges you would like and attempt to throw at me as you try to defend your crutch, by all means, express your pathetic opinion.

Edit 2: For all the people saying this weapons is just too good in every category, thats exactly correct. It's year 2 Gjallarhorn in the aspect that there is no reason to use ANY other snipe.
It can res snipe.
Punch through walls.
Kill shielded enemies.
Kill enemies within supers.
Broken AA.
1 shot TLW body shot 1K stare shot.
Average stability.
Hidden hand.
High impact.
Extremely easy to handle.
Snappy.
Easy to drag scope.
ETC.
WHY WOULD YOU USE ANYTHING ELSE???

What other sniper would you like powwow to use? Erirene has crappy scopes, be a hunter, or waste and exotic slot. Bungee did this to themselves.

8 RespuestasThe 1000 Yard Stare doesn't have high aim asisst. Stop getting salty that you got killed by it and stay the hell out of sniper lanes. Plain and simple. Nobody complained about the Shadow of Veils, which can have over 30 more aim assist (which I doubt is provided by Hidden Hand). Aim asisst doesn't affect the hitbox of snipers. However, sniping is relatively easy as the hitboxes are very large. Stop complaining.

Well there isn't realistically anything else to use that's as effective It's a quest sniper that's widely available. It's one of 4 "res snipers" 1 is an exotic, 1 is hunter exclusive and 1 is received from the gun smith (stat wise isn't as good as the 1k stare) Maybe if there was more variety, because honestly all other snipers are judged by their ability to be competitive and can snipe through shields. The low impact high rate of fire ones are trash. Even if aim assist was toned down you'd still see the 1k stare used most often.

On Planet Destiny's Crucible Radio podcast a couple months back. Go look it up. Edit: 1000 yard stare has an average aim assist by default. However, the quest 1k stare, the one that everyone gets, is rolled with a high aim assist perk. That is why everyone THINKS it is OP. It's just a god rolled sniper. Thank the Iron Lords we no longer have rerolling, otherwise every weapon in PVP would be God rolled.

I take comfort in the fact that you will never be happy with the weapon selection. I smile every time I think about how you need to blame everything else but your own skill when you lose. But what makes me the happiest is knowing that no matter what weapons get nerfed there will always, ALWAYS be another weapon that people claim is 'overpowered'. Besides, you're talking about a console first person shooter. EVERYONE knows that all console FPS have way too much aim assist to begin with. You wanna talk about removing aim assist from Destiny all together then I'm with ya, otherwise your post is just another post to add to the complaint pile. Thanks for the laughs though! Oh, and I'll keep using my 1000 Yard Stare especially since I know little kids will be raging when I pop their peeking heads in the Crucible. No place for Mercy!

So as you can see about half of year 1 snipers had higher aim assistance. So yeah, your argument is kind of invalid. Bottom line with 1k yard stare is that it is extremely easy to acquire and there is no variety like in year 1. It is honestly the only viable high impact sniper to use.

Borderlands uses a different aim assist system than Destiny, where it auto aims to a nearby enemy. This is NOT the case with Destiny, as it only slows down your reticule. 8:14 for the video I posted above is the crucible director explaining aim assist. However, he also fails to validate either of our points. http://youtu.be/ty-TPE_V3kA this is another video that tests the effects of hidden hand. It shows bullet magnetism, however, it was extremely minimum. Argue how you want, but these two independent people, one of which designed the system, conclude the same things.
