How stupid do you think this community is? The description IS LITTERALLY IN THE NAME.
AIM. ASSISTANCE.
IT HELPS YOU AIM.
If you are still lost at this point, and believe me, the people who say the quotations in the description probably are, it is how much "Stick" your sights have on the target.
So. You can, drag, snap, aim, lock, and kill your target with your sights with much more ease. That's why when an enemy gets in the way of your target it causes your sights to move. The higher the AA number, the more noticable the effects listed will be.
Now you know why it's called the 1000K crutch.
And to all you fools still trying to defend this weapon by saying Her Benevolence and other year 1 snipers also had high AA, I have 2 things for you.
1: I guess either you forgot about the Thorn and TLW crisis, or the amount of people who say they are Beta testers and Year 1 players are little lying piglets.
2: While those sniper did have a pretty good AA stat, none of them had THIS high of a stat as the 1000K crutch. For the ones that DID, you could not get hidden hand on them. If you still say that the other sniper had higher AA, refer to 1. It's an endless loop.
If you have any other desperate stabs and lunges you would like and attempt to throw at me as you try to defend your crutch, by all means, express your pathetic opinion.

Edit 2: For all the people saying this weapons is just too good in every category, thats exactly correct. It's year 2 Gjallarhorn in the aspect that there is no reason to use ANY other snipe.
It can res snipe.
Punch through walls.
Kill shielded enemies.
Kill enemies within supers.
Broken AA.
1 shot TLW body shot 1K stare shot.
Average stability.
Hidden hand.
High impact.
Extremely easy to handle.
Snappy.
Easy to drag scope.
ETC.
WHY WOULD YOU USE ANYTHING ELSE???

Honestly, I think the AA is fine. But youre entitled to your oppinion as iw everyone else. But heres the the thing, theyve nerfed shotguns, fusion rifles havent been used commonly since vanilla, and now the community is asking to either take our aim assist and/or nerf snipers. So what will happen? All secondaries are shit in pvp.

I personally hate dieing like who the hell doesn't but it's part of the game and if someone head shot me good for them I'm not the best so I probably easier to hit than others but I get pissed when I die in one shot it's annoying but I use snipers sometimes because there fun and u feel good when U head shot ppl it's like " heh I just piped him like a ballon oh well he'll be up in 10 seconds good luck bro" stop complaining about shot I can't change its not ruining ur life if u think it's . Kiddo u need a girl friend lol go get a life it's just a game play it for fun if u don't like getting head shot a couple times go play some other crucible mode, play pvp, just suck it up , or easiest leave the game. Do j agree it's annoying getting head shot a lot yes I do but u gotta deal with it stop raging.

You speak truth... You forgot one thing though. Some people say "but fifteen other snipers have higher AA" but no other sniper has high AA AND HIGH IMPACT. Everything else is much lower impact.

People say that because a lot of people don't know what aim assist does. On primary weapons it will actually bend bullets toward crit spots. On high aim assist scouts, it can actually be difficult to hit a phalanxes hand from a distance because the aim assist will pull the shot towards the head and into the shield when aiming at his hand. You can test this for yourself and see it pretty easily. Snipers act differently however and do exactly what u said. It just affects reticle slow down over a target to helps keep on target. The bullet will always shoot where u aim it. Most of the people that complain about aim assist like crazy are the ones that think aim assist does the same thing it does for primaries for snipers.

The reason so many people get killed by 1,000 YS is 1). It's the most common. You get it from a quest, it can be purchased, or it drops frequently. 2). It has enough base damage to shoot through the overshield in revive game modes. 3). Players who snipe are much more likely to be "clingy" to their weapon of choice. Think about that for a minute, and about 1 and 2 above. So, if I'm a sniper (which im not), and I have to choose a high impact sniper rifle for trials, wouldn't it make sense to run around with it literally everywhere to get good with it? In all game modes? By the way, there are only a couple sniper rifles in Destiny that have enough base damage to do shoot thru the overshield, and one of them is a Hunter Exclusive. 4). The 1,000 YD offers a better stability and rate of fire than Eirene, plus it offers the vanilla scopes that snipers are used to. All of these factors are the reason you see it so much, NOT because it has more aim assist than the rest. In the AA department, it's just average.

2 RespuestasYoure a damn idiot. The sniper rifles from year one were A LOT more powerful. You just dont remember because you were probably running around with a shottie just like me. We had 6 round sniper rifles. Pradyths had firefly AND outlaw AND a six round mag. Patience and time had more stability than the mida multi tool, you could literally 2 shot someone using one hand. Also had 6 round mag perk. We had icebreaker which took you down to a sliver of health on body shots, had infinite ammo and blew folks up when you got kills with it. Then we had the queenbreakers bow, with the highest AA on a one shot kill capable weapon with an ammo capacity that allowed you to use it like a primary... AND YOU WANNA COMPLAIN ABOUT THE VANGUARD VENDOR SNIPER THAT HAS A LOWER AA RATING THAN ALMOST ALL THE YEAR ONE MONSTERS???? Sit the fück down dude. Or add a satire tag.

Give me : Longbow, Efrideets, LDR, Her Benev, or the Supremacy with Shortgaze and Snapshot, and I will happily use them. 1000-yard stare is THE only year 2 sniper that can kill through a revive shield, and roll with Shortgaze.

2 RespuestasIf you wrote out the full 1000 yard you do not need to put the K there. I don't know why so many people do this. I don't want this sniper nerfed because it's my favorite PVE sniper I am sick of guns getting ruined in PVE because people complain and complain about them in PVP.

High AA and long scope snipers are harder to use in my opinion. The spear with ambush was my weapon of choice.

At a certain point aim assist simply stops having an effect for the people with thumbs. This is around 50-60 aim assist. The perfect sniper imo is stillpiercer. 56 AA with a good scope and enough impact to res snipe/snipe supers and has snapshot+4 in the mag. Benevolence and LDR are all easy equivelants to the 1k stare, and the only reason this one is so prevalent compared to other snipers is that you get a well rolled one from an early quest that 95% of people who use this gun us. (it also does not come with hidden hand, so enough with that shitty point)

I hadn't played in like 2 months, but hopped on IB and played around in a few games of Y2 Trials expecting a barrage of 1K Stare and Mida, but that was not the case at all. The outcry on the forums made it seem like EVERYONE was magically a pro sniper, but I avoided obvious sniper lanes, which I always do, and had absolutely zero issue. Counter-sniping was incredibly easy and I spent the majority of my time using Icebreaker (my favorite PvP sniper).
