I saw the 7:30 premier on Thursday, December 17, and had 6 and 7tg hour finals the next day. My 6th hr is an engineering class and we are all fans. I mentioned I had seen the movie and the almost lynched me to prevent spoilers. It was hilarious.

5 RespuestasKylo Ren is annoying and overrated, Snoke could be Plaguies, Rey could be Luke's daughter, that's just my quick analysis.
-
6 RespuestasRey is Lukes daughter that he had while going into hiding on Jakku, when the First Order showed up he left his family on Jakku to go further into exile. Rey flew the Millennium Falcon with absolutely no spacecraft training, you know who else was a phenomenal pilot with no training? Her grandfather, Anakin. Also, Lukes/Anakins lightsaber was calling out to her. But that's just my speculation.

3 RespuestasDoes anyone think that supreme leader snoke is actually Boba Fett??? I would love that. Also, what if Luke is actually the leader of the Knights of Ren? What if he is the sith now and Kylo Ren and snoke are actually wanting to kill Luke because he is now evil? Luke didn't look too thrilled that Rey had found her. I doubt that to be the case and I dislike it even more.

5 RespuestasMan. I hope Finn learns how to wield a lightsaber for real. He's my favorite character from the movie

11 RespuestasAnyone else notice how kalo rens lightsabers beam was kinda jagged around the edges, did he make the lightsaber from the wrong things or incorrectly, was he misinstructed?
-
7 RespuestasI think Rey is the second apprentice to Luke. It said in the movie he had two apprentices and klyo was one of them, but they never mention the second one. I feel when klyo turned luke wanted to protect Rey so he dropped her off on a planet that know one would think to look for her there. That could explain why she is so good with the force, or knows how to somewhat use the force.
sorry for grammar in a hurry and really don't care
6 RespuestasI can't take people who complain that Kylo Ren's face makes him look less scary or weak. Like...that's literally the point? Kylo ren is weak. He's an immature, most likely earlier 20's boy who is unable to find his true meaning and he lashes out in anger and frustration. (Or slicing things randomly) He wears the mask and the hood because it makes him appear strong. It reminds him of vader, and how strong he wishes he could be.

The plot was super linear, and character development sucked, but true to star wars form the battles were cool, nothing really susprised me, only thing i actually got excited about was mark Hamill and that's because he's the best joker there ever was,

6 RespuestasI want to know how kylo keeps his hair so perfect.

3 RespuestasEditado por McHarmonies: 12/21/2015 8:35:45 PMI feel like this movie was geared toward a much younger audience. Analyzing my reaction, I do see it as a little off-putting. I'm only 30. Then again, I was always an old soul lol.

If Kylo keeps praying to darth vaders helmet it's not going to do anything.

18 RespuestasI don't think it lives up to how we feel about the original trilogy because that is literally impossible. However it does exactly what it needed to do, and blew the -blam!-ing prequels to dust. Like I said down below, the only major problem I had was sacrificing the emotion of the scene of Rey's escape for the sake of comedy by having the trooper drop his gun at the last moment. I was also actually disappointed with Phasma. Just a waste of a potential character. I've seen a bunch of people crying about how it wasn't original enough, even though everyone cried how the prequels were too different. It's just a lousy complaint for people who like to hate everything. Regardless, the tone and pacing of the film was really good, especially for today's theatre goers. The original trilogy was a bit more slower with pacing which worked for them, but this movie did a good job of appealing to all audiences I like the nod to the EU of having Han and Leia's son fall to the dark side, however I really want to hear more of what actually happened when the Knights of Ren fell and slaughtered Luke's students, there's definitely more that happened there if it caused Luke of all people to go into hiding. I think Rey is either Luke's daughter or extremely close to him, as his light saber "calls to her" and she's very strong with the force. Perhaps Kylo or Snoke killed Luke's wife as well and he went into hiding for failing her and the galaxy? There's a lot of story to be told there in just that small group that has had galactic repercussions. Now, it hurt inside, but I liked the fact that Han died. It's sort of driving the point that nothing is sacred/untouchable. Hans just a man, and he died just like anybody else can. It sets a precedent going forward that none of our heroes or favorite droids are safe. And that should bode well since I personally believe episode 8 will be darker, just like Empire was a lot darker with its tone than a new hope. I loved the x wing fight at the citadel and at star killer base, it just looked so good, and I liked the fact that the opening scene showed that the troopers can actually HIT SOMETHING Although that standard came about because the original trilogy had troopers focusing on shooting at our heroes and they couldn't die so... Oops they missed tl;dr the movie was good. Not on the level of the original trilogy, but miles ahead of the prequels, and 7 did a good job of setting a tone for the trilogy killing off Han.

I thought it was one of the better movies of the series

49 RespuestasHow did Fin know how to wield a lightsaber? Looked like he had no prior experience in using those weapons. Sometime care to answer this please

1 RespuestaIs it just me, or were the potential of these characters wasted or sub-par? : -Kylo Ren (looks like a non-pubescent albino) -Snoke (his name, and the fact that they revealed him too early) -Captain Phasma (for obvious reasons) -Finn (he is a wimp throughout the whole movie, and was much less focused on than Rey so the feminists won't flip over) Tell me what you think.

Editado por Clyd3Fr0g 2: 12/21/2015 5:45:20 PMMy only big gripe was the super death star. Even if you choose not to learn from palpatines mistakes, why not just build another regular sizes death star? Is blowing planets up one by one not good enough? Also if you build a device that can swallow a sun, channeling the energy into a weapon is pointless. Eat the sun and move on, the system is dead, and vent that shit into space so your bajillion dollar soace station doesnt explode (again). Loved Kylo. They make him like a little kid who loved vader drew him up, with the voice altering helmet and unnecessarily fancy saber. Then we find out that hes just a kid who loves vader and it all makes sense. Edit: sooooo happy to see the crouching tiger hidden jedi lightsaber fights taken out. The one saber fight was perfect.

Always been more of a LOTR fan. The movie was good but i dont think its going to get me hooked on star wars or anything. As far as i can tell, fans loved it, people who were indifferent are still kind of indifferent.

2 RespuestasI'll copy/pase from the other thread: Loved it. Went in with no spoilers either. Just got back from my second viewing, and I'm trying to find a theatre for my 3rd viewing next weekend. Kylo Ren and Rey were my favorite characters. Kylo's relationship twist and Han's death were massively shocking, and I'm still trying to get over it. Growing up with the original trilogy, Han was this cocky, suave smuggler. At the end of TFA he really wantes Ben to go back, and it was heart wrenching to see him killed my his son. The movie had fantastic pacing (except for the Rantarks (sp?) on the ship), and great line deliveries. The interaction between Finn and BB-8 aboard the Falcon was nothing short of amazing. Boyega really sold his interaction here, because he wasn't just talking to a CGI creation. There was an actual droid there. And finally we get a villain (since Vader) that actually has some confliction in him. He is torn between the light and dark, and he has had Snoke and Luke as teachers. Some Anakin parallels can be drawn here, but Driver (and the writing of the movie) gives a better performance than Hayden could have dreamed of. I loved Driver in this movie. Fantastic actor that conveyed Ren's emotions in every scene perfectly. Ren is a student that has a hot temper, quick to anger, a lust for power and yet he feels the call to the light side. There isn't that much I didn't enjoy about the movie. The Rantarks, Han's sudden obsession with Chewie's Bowcaster, and I believe the fight between Rey and Ren could have been choreographed better (not to me. All the clues were there as to why Ren had the upper hand, and then Rey. But to some who didn't see those clues). I give the movie a 8.5/9 out of 10. I'd put it right behind Empire Strikes Back, and possibly tied with A New Hope. Outstanding movie and the sequel to Star Wars I have been waiting for since I was a kid. Abrams and Disney may have played it safe (a LOT of parallels between this movie and A New Hope), but it worked and I cannot wait to see where these characters go next. Star Wars is back!

3 RespuestasEditado por McHarmonies: 12/21/2015 3:48:55 PMDid anyone else feel the plot for 7 was a little less than original? Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the movie. But hardly anything floored me. I also felt that there wasn't much mystery. I only walked away with a few questions at best. Again, I enjoyed it. But it still doesn't stack up to the original trilogy IMO.

21 RespuestasEditado por oCharlemagne: 12/20/2015 1:02:57 AMlol I thought the supreme leader was actually that big and I thought "only way to kill him is to kamikaze a -blam!-ing space ship Also ((it's a major spoiler if you haven't seen the movie))
For everyone who said "Han Solo survived!", here is the reason he didn't - 1. He was stabbed in the chest with a lightsaber 2. He fell into a seemingly bottomless abyss 3. Even if he did somehow survive that then the planet he fell into imploded and literally turned into a sun. Still think he's alive?
