Do you think when your on your death bed, you'll think...wow I poured hundreds/thousands of hours into a game, grinding for gear that didn't effect anything...
...I could have learned to code, met women, learn a second language, work overtime, spend time with loved ones, swim in the ocean naked...basically anything other than repeating the same things over and over for no reason?
I have spent a few hundred hours on this game. It won't take up a minute more of my time.
EDIT: Well that escalated quickly.
Listen. A lot of people have missed the point.
It wasn't a step by step guide for YOUR life. (How could it be? I don't know you) Just a simple thought I had. Plus my gripe is about doing the same thing repeatedly. The grind. Never ending. Relentless.
If you want to spend the next 10,000 hours running around the cosmodrome or killing oryx over and over OR WHATEVER. Be my guest. It's your life. Only you can make that choice.
Me though. I'm done.
EDIT: Wow where is Butthurt when you need him? Maybe we should have like a bat signal for him. He would love these responses...

9 RespuestasI think this can be said about any game, but there's something called "entertainment" humans require to make it through life. Do you know what the suicide rate was in the dark ages? 45%. 45% of people killed themselves from 600-1000, why? The only forms of entertainment were renaissance fairs where people killed each other for entertainment. I think by playing this game instead of paying to go see a 2 hour movie, going to a 50$ concert, or any other current form of entertainment, everyone is saving money.

If you've not met a woman, worked over time and never swum in an ocean naked then I can only assume you have been a priest of sorts from birth. Otherwise get on it?!

2 RespuestasI wasted more hours playing PSO and Tibia. The time I've spent playing Destiny is nothing. But those hours were not wasted. They were enjoyable hours filled with adventure, action, heartache, suspense, and other things. You on the other hand, are wasting your time making this post.

2 RespuestasRegretting times of fun and making new awesome friends? Hell no!
-
3 RespuestasThen throw your console away and never play video games ever again period. Not even games on your phone, not even board games. Because at one point it's the same game from when you bought it up until you stop playing it. Nothing morphs into something new unless you get something new hence the hours spent doing something repetitive.

Almost to a thousand and couldn't be happier

So, what are your hobbies? The brain can't always be on...people need something to unwind and decompress from stress...
-
1 RespuestaI've stood on the ocean floor and swam with a sea turtle, yelled my own name from mountain tops, killed a chicken with my own hands, slept with many women and have eaten several meals homecooked by me or somebody pretty talented. been around the world. I just want to play some video games now so eat a dick bro

I do what I want. I don't regret fun. ~TheGreatNike

Are digital Trophies any less significant than real sport trophies...no. I have fun, that's all that matters.

After logging many many hours in this game believe it or not there have been things happening lately that amount to the final straw. I will be cutting hours dramatically or not playing at all for most of the foreseeable future.

Editado por ItsAbadPlayer: 11/26/2015 8:25:24 AMSadly if we all die in the end I'm gonna spend my time doing things I like even if it's wasting my time on games.

No regrets at all. Gaming is by far one of the most cost effective hobbies to have, besides there is nothing else to do after I tuck my kids in at night and put my wife to bed (wink wink).
-
Your the one wasting your time on the forums.

Editado por MandalorianDom: 11/26/2015 8:14:26 AMI've grinded 1500+ in 2 MH games.. You seriously think this easy walk in a park shit is a grind? http://youtu.be/RJtv61M6hoo

THIS ISN'T A CAR *Cue epic Batman music As the Bat flies over commissioner Gordon, he can't help but slowly smile with glee. The rush of wind from the Bat knocks off the Police commander's hat, and as Gordon smiles, he thinks to himself:
To be continued
The friends I made make it all the better.

It's not the gear I've earned. It's the friends I made along the way.

5 RespuestasI support you. And I see your perspective. I've felt this way about Destiny too recently. And at least you've only spent hundreds of hours wasting away. I've spent thousands. Just think about how detrimental it's actually been to me. I mean I take care of everything of mine...bills, place to live, food, car and had, hanging occasionally with friends and family, unsuccessfully dating...I've done it all. But the minute I finally turned an eye away from Destiny, I felt quite a bit more free. Even went for a long run and enjoyed every step, bead of sweat, and moment it took to catch my breath.

Who cares

Screw destiny

2 RespuestasMan, I spent all these hours on the basketball court shooting hoops with buddies and never made the NBA. What a waste!
-
If you were honestly part of the wider community (outside of these forums) you wouldn't be saying this, the friendships I've made and the good times I've had playing this game with new people will never be counted as a waste of time in my eyes. The game itself is almost irrelevant, it's the people you play with that matters.

Everything you do is pointless, you are only going to die in the end...

4 RespuestasAnd you just wasted 10 minutes posting about this on the forums.. You could have gotten laid, or read like 4 pages in a book, or cooked a meal.. You'll never get those 10 minutes back. And I hope you don't read this because boom! There goes another minute of your life you could have been spending elsewhere
