Does islam promote violence
I don't think [b]any[/b] religion is inherently good or bad.

This does not mean however, that everyone that follows them chooses to adhere to those aspects of them. Whether most believers want to admit it or not, they are cherry pickers when it comes to their religious texts. In this particular case I'd say that's a good thing though. The problem is that they try to find ways to justify said violence or find a way to get around it by claiming "metaphors" or something else. This unfortunately keeps these beliefs, violence included, relevant. I don't expect much to change for the human race until we can let these kinds of beliefs go.

All religion does in some ways, and it'll eventually destroy us as a species. It's crazy that humanity's biggest issue is HUGE numbers of people violently disagreeing about who has the best imaginary friend. We ain't a species built to last.

A lot of people here are Muslim, I see Muslims in the street, in my collage and a talked to a few in the last years All of them are moderates, there are very few radicals who promote violence. And we were taught in religious studies the good side and why they might think there a religion of peace, they were just domesticated to fit in modern society and pushed off sharia law. Is Islam violent, sometimes Is Islam peaceful, certainly not It's all interpreted to different people. Most Muslims are chill and everyone accepts that But some are rabid dogs that need to be dealt with. And those who think Islam is bad are the ones feeding the fire, thinking beating a 13 year old from Bradford would hinder a 23 year old terrorist from Kuwait like they think Islam is a hive mind. Tldr, most are moderate They just adapted to society and islamaphobes are just as bad as the terrorists.

All religions have violence at some point in their history, however majority of religions have evolved and adapted to modern times. Islam has not. Lots of Muslims in western societies have transitioned into a more moderate form of Islam, but for the most part, in general, it's got a long way to go if it's going to co-exist with "non-believers"

Radical Islam does. Other versions and sects do not take the verses they read the same as their extremists brothers. But the extremist version is still Islam. It gets its basic principles from the Koran and Islam, and culturally follows religious teachings of Islam. Tell me how, regardless of if it follows the mainstream, more commonly accepted or not, it doesn't still technically classify as Islam. So no, the general populace of Muslims don't promote violence. The general type of Islam doesn't, but the extremist, radical one does.
