Year 1 Destiny was amazing, but Year 2 Destiny was the iceberg that sunk the ship.
If you have finally put this game away, you made the right choice. Destiny is a cancer in the gaming industry. Let me lay down a fact.
The only reason you couldn't put it down was out of fear. You were actually afraid to fall behind. Over a video game, what should be nothing more than a way to unwind or kick back. Missing a reset startled you, and what of your friends?
Friends in Destiny are paper thin. Quit for two weeks and come back, you'll realize just how thin it all was. Oh, you're in a clan? Cute, how many of those people do you actually play with? How about those clan activities...oh wait...
Quitting Destiny taught me something. Playing other games reminded me of why I love gaming. Because its fun. It's fun to play games without stressing. Without grinding. Without losing out or falling behind by missing a day or two.
Destiny was like that job you hate. You clocked in, started hammering away at your daily tasks. Asked your boss for a raise (Rahool) and got handed a terd and laughed at. Everyday you clock back in, doing the same tasks, going nowhere fast.
Don't be afraid to fall behind everyone, because honestly, who gives a F#$%. Put it down, try a game that won't punish you for taking breaks, not playing daily and missing out on time gated exotics, and won't ruin friendships. Destiny is a game that punishes the players for getting addicted, and Bungie feeds it the fuel weekly with their updates that no one asked for, slowly increasing the cancer in the software.
If you're actually enjoying Destiny, good for you! Gaming is suppose to be fun and we all have different tastes. Majority seems to agree its lost its spark, but do what makes you happy! Game on everyone!

It started to give me anxiety if didn't have everything done before reset because of that feeling of being left behind.

I put it down just for the fact that I have it on last gen which means that I will eventually run out of content. But if I buy it on next gen my jimies will indeed be rustled.

1 RespuestaNOBODY PLAYS DESTINY ANYMORE, ONLY DESTICLES BUT THEY DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER

Haven't played for about 2 weeks now.

Editado por BlitzyMango: 11/19/2015 4:38:39 PMI agree, the grind is so annoying

I can tell you one thing. It's been almost a week with out destiny. And it's been amazing. I do regret breaking my Xbox to finally quit, but oh well. I I'll get myself on for Xmas, but I WON'T be getting destiny again. I realize I need to not go to these forams. But it's kinda satisfying for the time being.

7 RespuestasEditado por SaiyanSpeedster: 11/19/2015 11:38:29 AMHi my name is Chris and I'm a Destinyoholic and I've quit for 2 weeks and I'm feeling pretty good to start the road to recovery from this addiction, I'm actually playing other games for once and not feeling every week that I have to play every week to not fall behind. I'm playing ESO, Star Wars, and Black ops 3. It's fun to switch between them and have fun to just play and not the continuous grind that destiny is. Destiny has taken 2,000+ hours of my life for what? To get these virtual items that mean nothing, I'm not just playing other games I am having a better social life and actually got a girlfriend who I'm having so much fun with and has brightened my eyes for the better. I'm having more fun with her and friends in the real world then I was having grinding destiny for no reason at all. This game is cancer and that is the truth I will most likely get hate on this comment but the truth hurts I really hope bungie drops activision as a publisher and partner because it's turned them into money grabbing addicts who couldn't give two shits about their players. All they do is nerf shit and release content that has been cut up into pieces which explains why the story is non existent. Sorry for the rant but I feel so much better telling my story to others and I hope it opens up people's eyes to take a break from this game. I mean if you're actually playing and having fun more power to you but if it's the only game that you're playing and you are just grinding take a reality check and think "why am I doing this" and you'll see that it's pointless and such a waste of time. I used to just get home from high school and hop straight on the game skipping my homework and other activities that actually contributed to my life and mattered. Anyways I think I'm going to wrap this up, my point is don't commit all your free time to this game go out and do stuff with your friends, get a special someone in your life and have fun go play some other games and make sure you focus on your education or job. Have a good one guys I hope this helped some of you still just grinding destiny to tone it down and try other activities and stuff.

Why do you feel the need to write that..?? You would feel better to see that other guys like you who left the game are still reading the forum and commenting everything like drug addicts ? ^^

1 RespuestaEditado por futuranma: 11/19/2015 2:44:22 PMi recently quit playing. there is no point in playing older stuff and the new raid is impossible to get anyone to play with you unless you pass their long list of carry my ass requirements. go to any third party site looking for a group and all you see is 310+ , ToM, emblem or -blam!- off. i guess bungie likes it this way. that way they can brag about how so many players never get far into the game. other companies would see that and say, damn, how many players are we losing a week? it was bad enough just milking our addictions and selling us an incomplete game but now they started gambling for content. im starting to think gamers need legal protection from greedy companies.

1 RespuestaI quit, so refreshing. The wife says dinner is ready and now I just pause the game and take my time. Got a lot of hate before saying thanks love I'll just eat it on my lap, can't let 5 other gamers down right, you understand Hun....sleeps in spare room. Glad to say I now sleep in my bed every night now.

You're still bitching about this game ? Smh

3 Respuestas
Don't be afraid to fall behind everyone, because honestly, who gives a F#$%.
The #1 thing I learned about Destiny in year 1 is that you never fall behind. Bungie resets the game with every update, so all the grinding people do mean nothing in a few months.
-
2 RespuestasSo why all of you guys still on Bungie.net? I think you are just other developers that want us to quit.... guess what.... you failed ...nice try......-__-
-
To each his/her own I'm still year one vet dancing away on boss bodies I guess having a social life and not on destiny so much makes me come back for more I do grind for what I want but bungie keeps me coming back for more and plz really try reading the lore in this app it's an amazing story I'm think I'm getting close to who the stranger really is for those who don't know about exos and vex plz study up its only getting better keep your heads up guardians the world doesn't come to you on a f$&kin sliver plate now does it?? 💪🏻

I got the game a week prior to Taken King and still have fun. Though once i get the achievements done i will be on the game less (Hard Oryx, Flawless Raider basically left)
-
7 RespuestasI do not speak for everyone but i could not take this post seriously after you said year 1 was better then year 2. You must be looking at year 1 through a thick glass of nostalgia.

I agree. I do think it's a great creative game and fun to play, and really such an exciting game on the surface. The art and aliens are fantastic. I got into the grindy grind grind when I had a lot of friends playing and it was a bit like chasing your tail, but still fun because most of it was bullshitting with the fellas. I like what they did with TTK story. Came back after a 3 month hiatus (nobody I played with played house of wolves for more than a week, in fact one of my closest friends logged on to see the reef. After seeing the reef he says "you know what I want to do when I think about playing this game?" He then just jumps off the edge and logs out. Haha) and played TTK for about a month, played the raid a couple times and just didn't have it in me to endlessly raid just to hope to go up a few light levels. I get the gear grind thing. I used to play the shit out of MMOs. Bottom line, you're right. If you're enjoying a game, that's the point. If you're playing just to chase gear it's no different than a casino, albeit cheaper. The thrill of getting what you wanted is quickly out-shadowed by realizing you spent a shit ton of time getting imaginary upgrades that will only make playing something you played 73628825282 times a little easier the next time. Or to have bragging rights amongst other addicted maniacs. Lol. To each their own. Have fun!!! Many blessings.

6 RespuestasNo one cares if you quit. Why does everyone have to make a post jut to say they're quitting.
-
PSA: If you feel the way described in the OP while playing Destiny, instead of having fun while playing Destiny, you probably shouldn't ever go into a casino.

6 RespuestasEditado por AC1D RE1GNN: 11/19/2015 3:39:22 PMI haven't played Destiny in a while. I've been replaying Bloodborne to prepare for the Old Hunters DLC, and with fallout and battlefront I've been pretty pre-occupied. I just wanna know, is there any reason I should get back on and play? Got all three characters passed 300 light, don't care for the hard raid and don't really care for trials, so am I missing anything or should I just not worry?
-
Taken with a grain of salt. You can't say that having fun playing destiny and that it's cancer without conflicting.
-
Iron banner has been lagg since day one and bungie still hasn't bothered to fix it.

2 RespuestasI'm pretty sure that's only you and a select few bro. Most of us can play once a week and not break a sweat
