How different can Destiny 2 be?

With all the grinding and such in the first Destiny game, will people even want Destiny 2?

          • The only thing enticing about Destiny 2 will be multiple new locations and completely new missions. Nothing will change though in terms of grind and terrible rewards.

            • It will be exactly like Destiny. They haven't shown any interest or ability in developing a new game engine and the TIGER engine is garbage, they have admitted it themselves. So yea, Destiny 2 is going to be a complete repeat of Destiny in terms of recycling 6 hours of content for months and months of waiting for patchs and balancing.

            • I'm done after this dlc runs it's course Maybe...idk. If the progression system is anything like ttk no They added a lot of cool stuff to ttk and took things to a new level in some ways, but they screwed up so much more. they made so much content irrelevant and increased the grind tenfold and took away all the carrots The triple rng is killing me The garbage shit in the nightfall and raid loot tables is killing me If get an invite to raid or nightfall I'll do it, sometimes, but i feel zero excitement or drive to do much of anything anymore I keep playing but have no real direction and have been pvp mostly

              • Hopefully it is nothing like TTK. If anything is blocked by a timegate, I won't pick it up.

                  • I'm sure I will. I'm used to the more mmo aspects that destiny has from other games. As long as there a some people to play with.

-blam!- no lol I like many others gave TTK a shot after the disaster known as "House of Wolves". The trailers look dope for all the DLC's, but the content not so much. Destiny isn't a bad game, but it gets way to stale way to quick. I know going forward they'll release 1 raid that'll get boring after 2 months and they'll rely on petty strikes or pvp to keep us occupied till the next DLC. After playing a full year, I can say with certainty that this kinda game isn't my thing. P.S. No hate towards anyone that likes or plays this game, I'm simply speaking about myself. Edit: I'm also not a fan of the lack of matchmaking and having to try to LFG literally everything other than strikes and PvP. Which kinda brings me to another point, what else is there to do in this game other than play strikes or PvP? The patrols are barren areas where you literally can only drive around in a circle with hardly any explorable caves or areas. All the good content is on a weekly reset which is possibly the dumbest thing, if the raids are your bread & butter why not let players play it as often as they want? Some may say "Well because they don't want you to overplay it and burn yourself out" well guess what? Some players, like myself will still do the raids to help others or even for fun after we get our loot. It'd be nice to get something even if it is raid materials only (moldering shards, radiant/ascendant materials). This weekly reset is put in place to string you along till the next DLC because of how little content there is and thats annoying. They'll release a few exotics around December, a few in March, and then a few around June. Just in time for the E3 reveal of Destiny 2, oh and don't forget that the exotics you just got in June (like the HoW ones) will become useless. But hey pre-order your copy today to get 200 free silver and a shader/emblem, only $59.99 or you can buy the Destiny Legends edition for 159.99 and get all Y1, TTK, and Y2 content. Ohh and don't get me started on how they re-skin weapons & gear and say its new ToO stuff or how they make old content useless and make all the fun weapons that made you feel powerful useless. I get it takes time to make these things, but it honestly is just pathetic and looks as if no effort was put in at all. Sorry this is turning into a rant, but also this Festival of the Lost felt weak. Why not be creative and have sparrow broom sticks or a pumpkin for a ghost? Is this really what the Tess thing is funding? Some may say be grateful they didn't have to do anything. Well I think differently, if your going to do something do it right or not at all. This half assed content doesn't make me think "wow isn't that nice of them", but rather "wow this is it, wear a mask to lower my light and go do the same stuff I normally do?". C'mon people they made a few masks and the best part is if they weren't legendary then they're gone, but wait you can go to Tess and buy legendary masks that yes are cosmetic, but still its laughable that no one saw that as a cash grab. Another thing I find annoying is that players love elemental primaries so what does Bungie do, they remove them. Lol I mean c'mon really? Here's an idea how about giving players the option to farm elements like we did for the ridiculously annoying exotic sword quests? Not only do you keep us happy, but you'll get players to run your vacant and frankly boring patrols just so we can apply an element of our choice onto our favorite primary. I thought with ToO adept weapons that was the direction they were taking by opening up the ability to get elemental primaries without having to run the raid, but again Bungie takes a step forward and 2 back. Let me ask anyone thats on the fence about Destiny something, if your friends weren't playing anymore would you? When is the last time you actually had fun in Destiny? How many times have you logged into Destiny, sat in orbit, maybe go to the tower, and then decide to just turn Destiny off to go do something else or play another game. We all want more for Destiny and want a world filled with activities to do that rivals any other major MMO title, but unfortunately Destiny can not live up to that standard, nor do I think it ever really will. Hopefully I'll be wrong but I have a feeling Destiny 2 will be filled with the same complaints. If you read this far then I hope you see my point of view on the current state of Destiny, but if not please know I'm not attacking anyone, I am however being very critical. End Rant. TL;DR: Destiny has a lot of shortcomings that make me not want to buy another DLC.
