The grind has become a bit too much to bare for a lot of people. Reading these forums has shown that the new light level infusion system whilst initially felt good, has pretty much made leveling up unbearable.
This new system has pretty much made attaining the max light level impossible without insane luck or god like patience. In year 1 when you finally got a raid item you were chasing your goal was to get xp and materials to max it out. Now it's get said item, item has shitty light, oh well keep doing the raid over and over because that item might eventually drop again with higher light.
It's artificially prolonging the grind, which for the amount of content available, is already real enough. If you were guaranteed to get a marginally higher light item everytime you ran the raid it would be worth it but it seems that it rarely happens.
I've only done Kings fall a few times but it seems to lack the feeling of progression you'd get when you finished it. It's a mental barrier, when it feels like you have stopped moving forward, it stops being fun and becomes a chore.
Hopefully in the next restructure of destiny they review this leveling system. I personally have lost the drive to grind the raid because now it is even more reliant on rng than ever and that in my opinion is extremely average. Anyone else feel the same?

2 RespuestasThis. Another reason I only log on 1 day a week now. Having light level attached to weapons is the dumbest fuking idea everrrrr. If you want to change a weapon in a situation your light goes down. Absolute utter shit. Anyways fallout 4 tomorrow and destiny and bungie can go fuk themselves.

Reforge needs to return. Each reroll costing 1 legendary mark. Or motes of light like in the past If you are 300 light, drops should be 300+. Let us infuse several lower light items to gradually level up an item to a higher level. Infusing a couple of 298 items should level up my 299 gun to 300. Ironbanner vendor gear should start at 300+ light. In the past ironbanner gear level was on par with raid gear. It took around 3-4 events(months)to get a full set. It took longer than raiding, but it was an option to keep non-raiders competitive against those decked in raid gear. Raiders with missing armor pieces would complete their set with ironbanner gear. Trials of Osiris are an option for higher level gear, but it does not allow for matchmaking. Ironbanner has matchmaking. Those that form a fireteam are more successfull, but everyone gets to try it out and get some gear or complete bounties in the process.

1 RespuestaHaha grind u think this game is a grind haha. Go play ff14 a realm reborn.

2 RespuestasLight level just needs to go away all together. Just make a simple leveling system instead of this dumb rng crap. Make all the gear equal but make the raid gear and weapons have really awesome unique perks so people will be excited to raid for that loot. I hit 297 and 298 with my characters and stopped this time around. This whole infusion light level crap is the dumbest decision i've ever seen so far. House of wolves i felt had the best idea so far because you could pick and choose what you kept. With infusion you sometimes have to stop using your favorite stuff for stuff you don't like because of the difference in light.

2 RespuestasBro, incase you didn't get the memo. Destiny = trowing money at the screen and grinding is what Bungie wants us to do.

Yeh double rng blows So bad. I'm over it. Every other raid has given high level gear that needed to be upgraded via parts, but depending on double rng to not only give you the item you want but also at a higher level???? I'm over it

Level 40 is a joke because the real level here is light. That being said the old system is way better than what we currently have right now. At least back then alot of people can actually attain the so called level cap. Even if we attain light 320 however there's no real point to it because the game severely lacks content to justify hitting the level cap. The next expansion would just immediately give us higher values so why even bother reaching 320 light right now when there's no real use for it. Sure you can argue that 320 light is good for hard mode kings fall but keep in mind you've beaten it several times while you were in 310 light and below. And once you hit the cap there's really nothing more to it.

This game is a prime example of really poor management. When you drive the developers away, the problem most likely is you and not everyone else. The amount of money that was put into the game development of this game is ridiculous compared to the content that was released. Don't get me started on the price we paid for this game and how the game company transformed Tess into a cash grab machine for them. My hope for this game is gone. The game is a job that you lose money on. The game does ruin people's lives for those who get addicted to the tactics introduced in the game. The games rating of T needs to be reevaluated as this should be M for mature. I don't want the next generation to grow up with the mindset of endless repetition for different results.

Yeah man i agree, the grind is totally not worth it because the rewards aren't even half good of the amount of work you put in. All the year 2 exotics suck. (Pve wise) except for the black spindle which is actually the exotic black hammer and all of the raid weapons suck except for the lmg, and rocket launcher. The raid guns are only good for infusing lol and that's sad. Well the taken king was fun while it lasted, we deserved a raid since they bs'd us in House of Wolves DLC by not giving us one and then crota raid was super short! Matter of fact, that wasn't a raid at all because 1 man can solo it smh. Anywho I'm glad way better games are out now like halo 5, cod bo3, fallout and many more are coming

Bungie has no idea how to make an open world game. They should stick to their bread and butter which is fps shooter which they know how to do very well. When it comes to a compelling open world experience they are -blam!-ing clueless.
-
And let's not forget that if you have gear you like, but it dropped at 280, in order to get it to 310+ you need like 4-6 other 310 items in that same class. It's gets stupid. The infusing system should just go to whatever light your using to infuse. You already have the item.
-
1 RespuestaStill pretty funny that the max light level is most likely locked behind a time gate because no one has gotten a 320 artifact
-
1 RespuestaThey need to ditch RNG-based light progression and allow us to infuse motes directly into weapons/armor to increase light level. You can earn motes just by getting experience, so it makes sense to do it this way.
-
1 RespuestaJust throw money at the screen.

2 RespuestasJust bring back etheric Light. Sure, people who have an abundance of the stuff will reach Max in no time, but the Light system would be better than ... Than... Than this ... Thing that we call a 'light system'.

7 RespuestasEditado por HyperVigiIant: 11/9/2015 3:11:59 PMWeapons like the Eyasluna drop so rarely, and it is more unlikely than likely that you will get the ideal perks even if the weapons do drop. In that sense, the grind is unreal! The randomness of drops can make this game the most grind heavy game ever!

2 RespuestasEditado por spaceme17: 11/9/2015 6:53:27 PMRemember how the Cryptarch in the early days of Destiny would turn legendary engrams into blues and blues into greens? We are at that point again with the double raid RNG.

What was then wasn't bad either, but it doesn't have added potential for variety in armor. Regardless all along the problem has been the fact that the drops you get for the week are just that, for the week. While RNG is annoying at times it's not really bad if the loot stream is constant enough to offset any frustrations with it. Which I'd say under normal game circumstances is true. The problem is endgame doesn't have this and they don't allow endgame loot into the normal loot streams. Instead leaving it only to endgame activities. In other words endgame loot is only obtainable a certain number of times a week. I don't care if they give me white through blues that are 300-320, at least it is something. I can either wear it or infuse it, and who is to say how much it takes to infuse. Least the option is there for me and decently reliable. Loot from endgame activities should be sought for on its own merits, not some artificial number.

Bump, haven't logged on destiny in a while now, don't see myself playing anytime soon, just got sick of the grind. Also the removal of elemental primaries made me sick, so yeah screw destiny and Bungie.
-
Normal should always drop 310 light and hard 320. All I see people get is the same things they already have with a lower light level, myself included.
