It apprears that Luke is totally antisocial. I have always supported OMM for those who want it. Having no social tools in a socially dependent game has never made any sense to me.
For the most part, I leave my mic off unless I'm running the raids. I have played open mic games and the background chatter and noise is enough to make me shut it off.

ESO for consoles is the worst modern offender. Nothing like an epic battle with a daedric prince and Beyoncé wailing in the background.

I stopped playing ESO for that very reason, not Beyonce but kids screaming and dogs barking. Kinda ruins the experience. I don't think players know their mics pick up all the background noise, they can't hear it on their headset.
