That Material grind for swords can kiss my bare ass.
That part is so poorly designed and just so mind numbing to the point where I have to ask if Bungie went full retard on this.

Alright, I have to ask why you "veterans" spent hours grinding during the "backwhen time"... I mean, come on, I was there, but it normally took me 25 minutes to get 40-50 materials from any planet, but [b][i]why in the Goddamn were people spending hours at a time to get 15 pieces of material anywhere.[/i][/b]

The reason you got more materials before is because you got chests. You can't get chests for the rare material grind. Big deal, takes an hr.

1 RespuestaDo other things whilst collecting the materials. Do missions Do bounties Do things to complete quests. Speak to friends online to help break the cycle of grinding. Its an exotic. You don't want it handed to you and the game would get a shorter lifespan. Yes it's a grind, but year 1 material grinding was just as bad and we didn't get a guaranteed exotic at the end of it. Equip a ghosts that highlights the material needed. It takes 30 mins.

If you're talking about spinmetal, you should look for a ghost that helps you find them. My "Brave Shell" can give me spinmetal for picking up engrams.

2 Respuestasthe problem is people are concentrating on just farming the materials they are looking for. Do other things let the collection of the materials as a second thing you need. basically just don't think about it. run around and kill stuff. also relax it's just a game.

Litterally didn't bother me a bit. I can wait. I have patience. I knew if get it and I did. Honestly it took like an hour. Just knew the route and did tricks on my sparrow inbeweeen. Honestly it be been shorter if it hadn't been for missing tricks and doing them until I was happy.

This 100% I've been here from beta and I HATED the material collecting. Farming materials is just a waste of time and something implemented by MMOs as a complete time sink. Grind is a necessary evil but they need to attempt to make it fun. The material collecting is NOT fun and time sinks should be expelled from all games.

Play music, and don't try to make it seem like you're only going for materials. Kill some enemies, do a side quest. I did my First Curse hand cannon kills and played iTunes Radio and got it done in 1 hour and 30 minutes.
