It has come to my attention that most difficulties regarding PvP and it's imbalances stem not from the guns, but from the players themselves. While I know the idea will more than likely die before it began, consider that all shooters on consoles use some form of aim assist to negate the inaccuracy that comes from using two nobs. However, with time and practice, people can use those with precision. As such, it is my idea that instead of attempting to balance the weapons themselves, remove the aim assist crutch and rely solely upon the players ability to aim rather than the use of a mechanic that curves bullets.
Edit: As expected, the idea was met with mixed reactions, but also good ideas. Perhaps instead of removing entirely, the aim assist be modified to a lower overall pull as someone suggested.
Edit: To prevent the obvious post of "Play without it and then understand why!", I did. I played Warframe for a year utilizing a controller with no aim assist.

2 RespuestasYou do realize that without aim assist, fps games are completely unplayable.
-
Get rid of it for snipers and shotguns see if ppl can say there good with them
-
2 RespuestasAn option to turn it off would be nice. It is frustrating when you're aiming at an opponent and another one runs in front of your shot, which forces your gun to now track him and pull you off your original target.
-
I hear that if you play Destiny on your mouse and keyboard, its a lot easier. Can someone tell me how that works? I'm really confused.

I have and will continue to play Battlefield with out aim assisthonestly aim assist has ruined many of my sniper head shots. When aiming into a crowd aim asist keeps pulling in every direction attempt to track every target there I end up only taking down maybe half or less of the targets. Having to continuously correct aim assist and put the cross hair back where you wanted it is annoying. The option for players to shut it off would be awesome or perhaps choose the degree at which the aim assist intervenes would be nice example. Normal or On would be aim assist as it is now. Light or medium would be just like it sounds a less intrusive aim assist for those days when your tired or in pain and can't get into the groove. And then off is what it is Off.

I would say ton it down alot. I dont even have to hit someone with a headshot with a sniper to get a headshot. -blam!-ing bullshit
-
You people could not play without aim assist. Try to shoot a fireteam member in PvE while they are jumping around and have them tell you if you hit them.
-
I'm a big PC player, but I play destiny on my Xbox one. I understand why you need aim assist to a certain degree on console, but I god I hate it.

Editado por Darches: 10/19/2015 9:08:44 PMCurving bullets: Always good! "Sticky" (snapping) aim: Sometimes good, but sometimes makes your aiming too slow while ADS (strange, I moved my stick all the way but STILL couldn't snipe the head) or throws you off target. Not a fan.

5 RespuestasYes on snipers, that why I don't use my stare in pvp, I use my spindle just cuz there is no aim assist
-
4 RespuestasUse Hereafter. It basically is aimbot
-
2 RespuestasIf everyone was using mouse and keyboard sure You don't realize as a console player exactly how much aim assist is required with the shitty sticks we use to aim.
-
1 RespuestaThere should be a petition to remove this whiny bitch from the forums.
-
Editado por LaGrimm: 10/19/2015 6:36:05 PMI had no idea it existed in game until about 2 weeks ago. I was doing the tests for Banshee and while staring down the sights for precision shots I noticed the dot in the sights move. Tried it on some different weapons and immediately noticed it since. K/D, while still bad, has improved now that I subconsciously know when I can get the headshot. I don't hate it, but it does feel cheap when I notice the dot shift slightly and I instinctively pull the trigger.

Maybe you're dying because they can aim!!!
-
Old FPSs didn't have aim assist. If I recall correctly, it started with Halo. Prior to that point in time people did fine without it. Now it's a crutch. Unfortunately, if you turn it off you won't do as well as those with it. It will stick around, because too many 90s kids never played without it, and they are a huge consumer demographic.
-
1 RespuestaDefinitely not, so many blueberries struggle with the absurd amounts now, imagine if you took it away
-
I do believe the overall aim assist should be significantly reduced. Removed? I'd support it but it'll never happen.
-
1 RespuestaRemove it from snipers
-
Please stop trolling... And if your not look into why you need aim assist for consoles... Or go play PC.

4 RespuestasEditado por Trek: 10/19/2015 2:57:40 PMAIM ASSIST DOES NOT CURVE BULLETS. Man , why is it that nobody seems to know what aim assist is?! All aim assist does, is slightly slow down your reticle when you move it over an enemy. Plain and simple. That's it. What your talking about is bullet magnetism. That's much more prominent in PVE, than PVP. In fact, it's nearly non existent in crucible. And FYI, most console shooters have it. Watch True Vanguard, or Planet Destiny's videos about sniping/aim assist.

I think if they just added an option, it would be more than enough. GTA I remember has that option and even to where if you join a private lobby (friends/clans only) anyone who joined those settings would apply. Just my input and thought on the whole subject.

1 RespuestaI took mine off from destiny, somehow my controller still pulls to a different head when one player crosses the other. I hate it.
-
Without aim assist a lot of players would no longer play this. Hell, if it was forced you would actually see a lot more complaining about "lag" when someone dumped an entire mag of AR fire into someone & nearly missed every shot when there is no AA to magnetize said bullets to their victim. A good example of this is Killzone. That game has little to no aim assist and suffered immensely (community wise) for it. However at the same time the amount of skilled players on that game is astounding when you see some of the shots people can make on a controller without the game helping them out.
-
Shouldnt be snipers with 69-75% aim assist. Shadow of Veils pretty much aims for you.
-
Aim assist isn't always a good thing It's just preference to be honest
