Bungie, you're currently failing with regards to this game's PvP aspect, especially with the release of TTK. It's gotten to the point that I can't wait until Halo 5 is released and this game gets relegated to "only on Tuesdays" status. The word "competitive" should never be used to describe the Crucible in its current state; the idea is laughable.
1. Your match-making system is atrocious. One game my team will win by a landslide, the next game we'll be getting curb-stomped to the point where I wonder why I even bother. Close games are a rarity it seems. Three times in a row you'll spawn me into a game that's already hopeless, and as soon as my character appears I'm taking a rocket launcher or a super into the face. Your mercy rule system sucks and doesn't turn on nearly as often as it should.
That's not even my main problem though. The fact is, I'm tired of how your system literally puts no effort into pairing premades against other premades. I check the roster before every game, and 9 times out of 10 there will be at least one 3+ man premade in the lobby. 9 times out of 10 I'll also be on the team full of randoms having to face off against that premade. But what really rustles my jim jams is this: if there are multiple small premades in the same lobby, the system will almost always put the premades on the same team and put all of the randoms on the other team. I honestly can't even. This game's PvP is an exercise in frustration when I'm consistently having to play with a team of randoms against a team of 3+ coordinating people. Why you guys make no effort to have premades play against other premades, I'll never know.
inb4 "just play in your own premade". I have no desire to have to group up with friends every time I want to casually play Crucible. I'm not going to play like a try-hard if it's not IB or ToO. I don't even care about playing against premades from time to time; it's the fact that I'm almost always playing against a premade. That probably goes for most people, but most people don't check the roster beforehand.
Honestly, if the system went about prioritizing premades against other premades, I might actually be encouraged to make my own premade outside of IB or ToO.
2. The week before TTK released and 2.0 dropped was the best, most balanced week the Crucible has ever seen. Weapon balance has been as good as it has ever been outside of Pulse Rifles being slightly over-tuned, as well as some random guns like Tlaloc. But I digress. My main gripe is the fact that Stormcaller and Sunbreaker are completely unbalanced in 6v6 PvP and they've taken what little skill was left out of this game. See, before these supers were introduced, every Y1 "mobile" super had a down side: Golden Gun had no damage resistance and Bladedancer required melee range.
With the introduction of Stormcaller/Sunbreaker, this balance has been completely ruined; there's no weakness to either of these supers, especially Sunbreaker - both supers are mobile, both supers are ranged and both supers have damage resistance. Hammer of Sol tracks its targets (very similar to Proximity on rocket launchers), heals on kills, has up to 7 shots and lasts way longer than every other super. The drain rates for HoS and Stormtrance are laughable compared to the other mobile supers. GG gets less than half the shots, no damage shield, no heal on kill but.. double the drain rate? lolwut? Logic, not even once. In a 6v6 environment these supers are simply broken, especially with randoms. Nightstalkers only make a trivial difference without coordination, and even then it won't be enough.
These new supers need to be tuned, period. There's a reason that Golden Gun didn't have damage resistance - because everyone and their mother knew that it would be retardedly broken. Yet, that's exactly what you've given Sunbreakers and (for the most part) Stormcallers. I'm not asking for them to be neutered, but something needs to be done. Either increase the drain rate, lower the damage resistance, get rid of cauterize or something.
inb4 "but the class revolves around its super". This game's entire current PvP system revolves around Supers. Do you have any idea how a team who coordinates their supers, especially around heavy spawns, can pretty much put a game out of reach in the matter of a minute? When you can average 10+ kills a game with your super alone, which is doable by any competent Sunbreaker or Stormcaller, there's a problem. Stormcallers can't even use that excuse; they have great grenades and probably the most absurd melee in the game. The fact that they're flying under the radar while Sunbreaker takes most of the blame is hilarious.
Supers make or break games. Everyone without their super is relegated to the same basic gunplay (for the most part). Bad grenades/melees aren't a good enough excuse for having the ability to wreak havoc 3+ times a game. Sunbreakers can still be powerful, but they need a weakness just like every other super, whether its a decrease in DR or a much faster drain rate. If GG/Nightstalker users only have 10 seconds to get their shots off once they activate their super, there's no way that Titans should have nearly triple the amount of time. Stormcaller needs a reduction in its chaining ability, its drain rate or something. That super is just as ridiculous when used correctly and people are currently oblivious to it.
/end rant
inb4 10 different guys posing as butthurt
inb4 a bunch of people with 1.0 KDRs downvote this thread and tell me I'm wrong
inb4 "superz are spose 2 b super lolz"
inb4 "hunter so point invalid"
If your KDR is below 1.5 and you disagree with me, I literally could not care less, so save it.

Maximum butthurt achieved.

It was always awful, at least mayhem is fun.

You gotta run when you see those supers exactly how I like it 😉

8 RespuestasDue to insane amounts of hurt I've been having steely, my crucible died to a 1.0 from 1.6. Everyone's opinions matter. Btw, Stormcaller isn't as powerful as blade dancer, in my opinion
-
Crucible is just filled with supers. Half my deaths are from just supers. Need to reduce cool down for supers in pvp. Gun balance is ok, pulse rifles are by far the best atm

1 RespuestaThe lag and hosting is truly disgusting it reminds me of advanced warfare, their weapon balancing means jack if they can't make matches consistent. I will destroy a group so bad in a match is not even funny the next with the same people nothing I do will would make a difference it's like they became elite players in less then a minute and that have a future sight, the lag is so bad it gives them like 3 seconds head start.
-
I mostly just play my warlock, nowadays. I really love Stormcaller. That being said, Transcendence needs some tweaking. It's very easy to run the map and grab 3-6 kills every time. In my opinion, Sunbreakers either need a lower dr in their super or they need to remove the perk that has kills recharge life. Both is a little ridiculous
-
Too many CQC maps too, but I agree with everything you said. Would be nice if Void Bow actually suppressed people too, unless they are standing next to it for 2 seconds nothing happens.
-
I agree with matchmaking comments. I usually run premades of 2 to 6 depending on who's on. Quite regularly go up against randoms with no teamwork. While for maybe one or two games its fun to pub stomp it gets old fast. On the occasion we are matched up against other premades the games are good fun win or lose. If I run solo you can bet I match premades :O Supers are now ridiculous. The duration is far too long. I would love a game mode with no supers and no heavy but unless we get customs I cant see this happening.

Only times I've done multiplayer is when it's needed for a quest

Bump Sums up everything I wished I could put into words.

Editado por BunkerGATE13: 10/12/2015 4:11:22 AMThey need to remove rewards and quests to make it competitive.. I might actually play if folks went in there to compete instead of kill time

4 RespuestasChaperone quest is killing me, keep getting matched against teams.. Got to 91% back down to 60 with one bad game. Brutal.
-
my K/D is over 1.5 and tho this game definitely still has balance issues (im looking at certain supers) and matchmaking issues. i would still describe it as very fun
-
I agree with most of that, but stormcallers die quickly during supers, and it only lasts longer with the transcendence perk on and by having full melee and grenade energy when activating the super, without that it's over a lot sooner.
-
1 RespuestaA lot of crying. Git gud. As Shaxx would say "Send them home crying" .... it's working.
-
The worst part about PVP is matchmaking by far. I pretty much have always played solo but since Ttk I cannot play an elimination game without having atleast 1 thumbless idiot in my team. I'm getting pretty sick and tired of 3v1s situations every single round because 95% of the destiny population can't play the game. Too many games end with me being the highest scoring or k/d player and being in the losing team. It's ridiculous.
-
I've been saying storm caller is op since the ttk came out. Iconic blink and transcendence make it amazing in the crucible.

2 RespuestasHow much time have you spent today looking up gifs?

Should've seen it before ttk *shudders*

2 RespuestasEditado por Baenaenae: 10/12/2015 3:43:12 AMKeep cauterize. I can face tank a huge pack of thralls with the sunpunch cd reset and cauterize. They should lower the dmg resistence but not all the way and raise yhe drain rate but not all the way.

4 RespuestasEditado por Tibbaryllis2: 10/12/2015 3:41:22 AMI clear your 1.5 hurdle so.... The problem with those two supers has more to do with the randoms. I just imagine all the children dying to a hammer and mashing square as fast as possible to run back over because they learned in CoD that PvP strategy is alway running to trade kills. As a person who mains Titan. I will say the class is pretty balanced due to its shit support perks and abilities, but HoS on its own is definitely tough. My fix for it would be to reduce the fire rate of the hammer by about 1/4 which would ultimately end up reducing the total hammer amount to 4-6 but closer to 3-5 with any sort of travel time needed. This would make it more comparable but different to golden gun. One you have three instant OHK shots with no armor, while the other has lots of armor but 3-5 homing hammers that require a good deal of aiming and travel time. And, for fairness, dump the incendiary grenade for fire bolt,
-
1 RespuestaIt's not balanced but that shouldn't be an excuse for sucking in crucible. I main a warlock and it's probably the most counter class in crucible since titans now have hammers and hunters can just suppress us from our super or arc blade our rez. Crucible is fun and that's all that matters.

1 RespuestaMy experience with a full fireteam of friends: We start off by doing very well, activating a few mercy rules. Then as matches go by, we get paired with camping snipers, and players using all of the most OP year 1 weapons. Rage ends the fun. Recollections of the same past experiences ends my interest in Destiny.

2 RespuestasGet over it Destiny's PvP was never designed to be balanced. This game was never meant to be competitive, let's get over now and have fun fire-flying alien heads again!
