Location: Firebase Caliph, Void Observation Station
Sigmar sits and watches the void probes feed, having been alerted to potential trouble by his officers.
After watching the screen for a moment, a huge tear opens up in the space before the probe, and a massive Space Hulk bursts forth from it.
The room becomes silent, until an officer speaks up.
'Sigmar, that damn thing is half again the size of Pluto. There are too many IFF signatures coming in for us to identify it. Its holding position just outside of the asteroid belt.'
Sigmar stands, and gives orders.
'Designate it as Russ's Folly for now, and get the Sons of Ymir on the line. We haven't the manpower to clear it ourselves.'
The officer complies, and speaks again.
'Understood. Shall we put out a recovery bounty?'
Sigmar replies, and walks out of the room.
'I'll do it myself, just get the Sons of Ymir to send their 1st Company.'
Location: Firebase Caliph, landing pads
Sigmar waits, the beacon on the landing pad broadcasting a recovery order.
He couldn't go and clear it himself, so he planned to do the next best thing.
Open, Space Hulk event intro.
English
-
Adept Eversteel approaches. His head masked by a cape bearing the insignia of the Mechanicus
-
A pack of Void Wolves walk over, and begin hazing the Adept of the Mechanicus. A mere moment after, Sigmar appears and runs them off, with a look of annoyance on his face. 'What is it you want Adept, we aren't exactly friendly with the Mechanicus.'
-
"Sigma you know that claim of the space hulk lies within the grasp of Mars." Eversteel removes his hood, an ocular implant whiring to compensate for the change in lighting. "My masters would like if I could accompany any team sent in. As insurance that any data on the ships be recovered. They are prepared to pay your Chapter heavily for your cooperation."
-
'My Chapter is only planning the operation, our Brother-Chapter and the volunteers are doing most of the work.' He scratches his head, and thinks for a moment. 'As long as you stay close to the Deathwatch team, you'll be fine. They have their own purpose for being here, and I believe you'll get along better with them than you will with the Sons of Ymir.'
-
"Understood lord astartes"
-
'Do not mistake this for hospitality, we owe your Mechanicus nothing. We have control of the operation, you are here merely to observe and get what you came for, and if i decide the item you are looking for is too dangerous, i will launch it into the sun without a second thought.' He swiftly turns to leave, and returns to planning the boarding action.
-
Stellar walks up to the base, obviously tired.
-
Sigmar notices, and gets her attention. 'Are you here about the beacon? You are aware that Space Hulks are dangerous, right?'
-
"Yes, and I've done the homework."
-
'Well, if you decide to go, the risk of death will be on you, and you alone. I trust you have your equipment ready?'
-
"Of course."
-
(How can I enter, hmm...)
-
(Read the bottom, and figure something out. Its an open broadcast for a reason.'
-
(... If she had that bike... Ahhh hell, she'll come running.)
-
(That'd be the only way, lel.)

-
Sigmar walks over, and hails what appears to be the leader. 'Brothers, we've got a situation.'
-
The man that would be their leader stepped out of his pod. His pitch-Black armor was bulky, not that special for a space marine, but the two main things thay attracted Sigmar's attention were the Crusader-type helmet the man wore. The round helmet with the pointed chin was old, Veteran and stern. Yet it also seemed highly advanced, further than a Mark-VI or Mark-VII. The other very peculiar detail was the symbol emblazoned on his right shoulderpad. He bore the insignia of the Dusk Raiders, a legion long gone and dead. This man must be a number of years older than Sigmar originally thought... in one hand the Marine wielded a long Shock-Halberd, the sword was almost taller than Sigmar himself. In the other hand, he wielded a strange-looking Storm bolter. It had something particular about it, but he couldn't tell. The man stood a bit taller than him, his presence was imposing. "we have heard. A Hulk."
-
'Yes, and a large one at that. Much larger than Pluto, its kept itself still past the asteroid belt.' He motions for them to follow, and walks to the landing pad. 'My Chapter hasn't the men to spare on clearing the Hulk, so I've called on one of our Brother-Chapters, and anyone who's willing to help.'
-

We have a job to do." Another marine stepped out of one of the pods. he walked up to the commander, holding his shield low and battleaxe high.
-
'Not yet, we are merely gathering force now. The boarding will begin when the Sons of Ymir arrive, as they have specialized themselves to this situation.' He leads them to a planning room. 'We plan to take out the reactors in all of the ships making up the conglomeration, so that it can't leave with men still on board.'
-
The Assault marine of the squad dropped next to them, walking along them. "We should send someone in there first to do that, minimalize casualties. And there's no time to wait on them, so I suggest a small party does that first hand."
-
'That was the idea, the Sons of Ymir have a unique way of stopping Space Hulks, and they're best suited to do this. The boarding team will focus on clearing out the Hulk, and the Sons of Ymir will focus on stopping its escape.' He pulls up the layout on a mapping screen. 'The Hulk is massive, and we are unsure exactly how many ships are a part of this mass. We plan to drop the boarding team in the hangar of a Battle Barge to the 'north' of the Hulk.'
-
mfw sig never gives a shit ¡~¡ sig pls
the last member of the squad enters the room, holding his staff. "and I think that's everyone. There's no time to wait for them. The hulk could already be fleeing as we speak."
-
I do.
'I've already sent our Battle Barge to bombard the operating engines. It can't flee the system, but it could still pop into the Warp at any time.' He sends the known layout to the squad, and turns back to them. 'We estimate that it'll take a week for it to build up a sufficient charge to enter the Warp, based on the power readings and the Hulks mass.'
