Black Spindle the new raid "Gjallahorn"?
Already in the raid forums you may have noticed in raid groups saying "must have black spindle" as a requirement. Could we be looking a potential throwback to Crotas End where not having the jellyhorn meant being s.o.l? Spindle the new Gjallahorn? You tell us!

It's good, but it shouldn't be a requirement for anybody. Then again, my requirements are very relaxed.

Not for the raid, but I seriously think that Telesto is the new Gjallarhorn. It clears out groups of enemies while creating lots of orbs, and it does heavy damage to most bosses. And you can do all that from a safe distance, since range has no effect on the voidsplosions (feel free to correct me on that).

The raid sniper and Black Spindle have the highest DPS of all snipers right now. I usually roll with the raid sniper because of Cocoon. Get four shots off, switch to my primary for five seconds, switch back to do the sniper, and repeat. I do wish it had higher impact, but it frees up my exotic slot for Touch of Malice.

I have it but don't use it. It's cool and all but it's basically a nerfed legendary we had last year. Every time I see a kid say something along the lines of "well I have Black Spindle, so my position in the raid should be [such and such]", it makes me not want to use it at all. If nothing else but to be an example of how you don't need any particular weapon to excel at any position in the raid.

If you need Black Spindles to get through the raid your group is terrible. I'm glad I found a great group of people to raid with. It sounds like LFG is pretty awful these days. Fortunately when I used it I was lucky enough to have gotten Icebreaker and then Gally so I never experienced being kicked. If anything I probably left a group once or twice because of terrible players that would goof around and cause us to wipe over and over again. My advice is to be the party leader and then just ask that people have a leveled sniper and decent light level. After that it's just about working together and chemistry. It's really hard to carry anyone in this raid. Terrible people that aren't good are probably gonna be kicked by decent (skill wise not moral wise lol) people looking just get it done with.

Any high impact sniper does the job. Touch of Malice is nice for the final bit but not needed either.

No because the only reason it is good is because it has 37 impact which is 6 more impact than most snipers and it's 310. For now.

Black Spindle is practically useless. Hell, hitting Oryx doesn't even count as precision so why use it there?

Idk about you..but my setup for everything up to deathsingers Is my herja-D, uzume with triple tap and dark drinker... After that is touch of malice every step xD

4 RespuestasWe all did just fine with 1000-yard stares. Black spindle is just nice because it was dropping at 310 and it automatically reloads with 3 precision shots, but when it comes to Oryx as long as your whole fireteam is shooting you can stagger him before you ever have to reload.
