Please report for bad connection everyone you see who has a red bar. Crucible is just a mess. Bungie needs to seriously work on matchmaking. You'd think after a year it would be better but it has only grown worse.
Edit: Many people are under the wrong impression that my intent is to get people banned or something like that. If that were the case I would report for cheating. There is a report for bad connection option. If Bungie is smart (and maybe I am giving them too much credit) they will gather data from this to tweak their matchmaking. That is ultimately what I am after and what I hope for. And maybe we will catch some cheaters in the process. I am okay with that.
Edit 2: for those who care to read edits I wrote this in response to someone below: Here's a question for you: regardless of the ins and outs of ping, latency, and matchmaking what harm will it do to report someone who is red barring? Unless they are cheating they won't be banned. And this way Bungie will be able to gather data on their matchmaking and work on tweaking it. That seems like a no brainer to me. No one loses. I don't see the big deal.
Edit 3: I think the big question is this: why is there a report for bad connection option? I would like to give Bungie the benefit of the doubt that it is there to help provide them with data so they may better tweak matchmaking. Maybe I am naieve. That's okay.
Maybe a second question is this: what constitutes a bad connection? What is the purpose of the bars. Red. Yellow. Green. What do they signify? What does the game itself tell us they signify? Quality of connection, right? Red = poor connection. And to be clear I am not saying report someone who may dropped red once in a match. Look for consistent red barring. Then use the tools Bungie have provided.
That's all I am saying. No reason for people to get so upset...

2 RespuestasEditado por Sturm with no Drang: 10/5/2015 3:58:49 PMThere really should be a way to allow players with better connection to join each other. Whenever I join in a match that is halfway done I usually find that people are dropping out because a player from Colombia or Mexico are using potatoes as their modems/routers and the lag is so viscous that everyone else look like they're teleporting. Do you know what it's like to see an Active Sunbreaker throwing hammers AND flying around like Nightcrawler from X-Men? "Don't hug me I'm scared."

5 RespuestasI can not wait to see you in trials and iron banner. Satellite internet is the only thing avaliable in my area. I have good up/down but ping is high 700's. You can't limit a person just because there connection is poor. 60% of gamers would quit. So are you gonna cover the money I won't spend? They wont ban for red bars. I will see you at iron banner and trials red barring the whole room while invincible. When I'm in a room everyone red bars. So I should report everyone? Suck a chodem pole.

4 RespuestasI have and I will continue to report all red bars who ruin my PvP experience. I really could care less if they get banned. Everyone gets red bar eventually, but eventually it fixes itself. If it is perpetual then it's either intentional or they shouldn't be playing online games.

Flooding bungie with useless reports will not help things. They all ready have plenty of tracking tools in place for this sort of thing. Simply you can't improve someone's shit connection which is why we don't normally use peer to peer conctions for multilayer games or at least in shooters anyway. The costs involved in hosting destiny players provably put off activion so we just have to suck it up

I report everyone who doesn't use their super within 30 seconds.

Editado por Tonberry Killer: 10/5/2015 3:43:32 PMWhy report them? It isnt their fault that they have a bad connection. Could be bad internet, could be distance from bungie servers... Maybe matchmaking could be smarter though and group people with high latency? Perhaps it already does and you dont like the idea of your connection being bad? Who knows. Who cares?

Editado por D1Franco: 10/5/2015 3:40:37 PMDoing this will get People banned. Sure Bungie have the data already.

I live out in the country, and the FASTEST internet available to us is what we have. .32 MBPS down. I have never seen a green bar. I have no option to get better internet. This isn't fair.
-
Glad to see someone who doesn't mindlessly hate red bar players, just trying to make bungie improve their system. I've got the best Internet available in my area, but still red bar 50% of the time in 6v6, and 10% of the time in 3v3 (don't worry, I'm moving soon and I'll have fantastic Internet then).

500 million dollars into a game and no matchmaking
GG
I've been in games with my fire team that when I look it says one persons red baring. Then when the rest of my fire team looks it says others are red baring I can't trust who actually is red baring enough to report someone.

3 RespuestasI have my Xbox approx. 15 feet away from my router. My connection was always red bar. Now I have an Ethernet cable. STILL FREAKING RED BAR!!!! Any advice? I have Verizon, so I don't think it can be my company.

19 RespuestasMy internet speed is 65 and im hardwired. I run red bar sometimes everyday. Not my fault this shitty ass matchmaking puts me in games with -blam!-in germans..Europeans...sweds...etc

That Mexico connection tho

I disagree

8 RespuestasAccording to you, I can't do anything multiplayer with my Xbox live friends that live in America. Since I live in Australia I'm always on red bar if I connect to a American server. So this post has flawed logic. Just saying
-
1 RespuestaI understand why you do what you said, however, if I connect to a host who is not in Australia ( which is where I am) or NZ, I'm always going to hover between orange and red - mostly red tbh. Completely out of my control
-
Yet this dude with a GREEN is teleporting across the map -_-
-
I'm pretty sure bungie won't be able to see who u report. That gos to xbox. Bungie can see who has a bad connection in ther game on ther own.
-
Honestly since ttk I don't mind Red bars. It means I be at least finally found a game.
-
1 RespuestaSorry dude, not gonna pay more a month to please you
-
It's very rare for me to have red bar, but once every while I do..... Not sure what it has to do with, usually not my connection though
-
I never see lag in regular crucible. Just in iron banner
-
I got reported for being a laggy pos when a salty warlock self rezzed in my bubble. No matter how many appropriate reports you file, the crybabies will limit your usefulness.

2 RespuestasEditado por septarn: 10/4/2015 11:29:47 PMIn their defense (and mine) the red bar for me comes and goes. One second red, next second full green. Its Bungie not the players connection. So report Bungie
