Please report for bad connection everyone you see who has a red bar. Crucible is just a mess. Bungie needs to seriously work on matchmaking. You'd think after a year it would be better but it has only grown worse.
Edit: Many people are under the wrong impression that my intent is to get people banned or something like that. If that were the case I would report for cheating. There is a report for bad connection option. If Bungie is smart (and maybe I am giving them too much credit) they will gather data from this to tweak their matchmaking. That is ultimately what I am after and what I hope for. And maybe we will catch some cheaters in the process. I am okay with that.
Edit 2: for those who care to read edits I wrote this in response to someone below: Here's a question for you: regardless of the ins and outs of ping, latency, and matchmaking what harm will it do to report someone who is red barring? Unless they are cheating they won't be banned. And this way Bungie will be able to gather data on their matchmaking and work on tweaking it. That seems like a no brainer to me. No one loses. I don't see the big deal.
Edit 3: I think the big question is this: why is there a report for bad connection option? I would like to give Bungie the benefit of the doubt that it is there to help provide them with data so they may better tweak matchmaking. Maybe I am naieve. That's okay.
Maybe a second question is this: what constitutes a bad connection? What is the purpose of the bars. Red. Yellow. Green. What do they signify? What does the game itself tell us they signify? Quality of connection, right? Red = poor connection. And to be clear I am not saying report someone who may dropped red once in a match. Look for consistent red barring. Then use the tools Bungie have provided.
That's all I am saying. No reason for people to get so upset...

I heard the worst part about crucible matchmaking is the fact that it'll connect you to anyone playing destiny, say if you from England and it connects you to someone from Mexico, you're going to have a bad connection to them regardless of how good your internet provider is. They need to add a local option for matchmaking, it would help reduce laggy matches.

6 RespuestasEditado por Jorge: 10/5/2015 8:10:47 PMDon't say they won't be banned because I was for people reporting me for bad connection so go -blam!- yourself. This is just an excuse because you are shit.
-
I see red bars jumping all around with no rhyme or reason to it, and sometimes it's me even with a 50gb connection so yeah not reporting and you're a tool.
-
It's weird because I'm always red barring but people who are green barring are lagging and stuff, it's not my internet coz I'm pre much the only one who uses it, Bungie just chooses to make me "red" bar in crucible but green bar in PvE
-
Not all red bars are bad. If they can die, they aren't cheating. If they can't die then they are likely cheating.

So I was about to win a match right, like I was kicking ass, then I got booted off Destiny, was I ddosed? Because the internet was still up for my phone but The wifi never went offline, how did this happen?

Wow..... It BUNGIE'S FAULT for the servers reading ERRORS on NORMAL CONNECTIONS. Get it yet? Ask DeeJ, cuz he's said that before COZMO even came around

I prefer to play the game than waste time reporting someone unfortunate enough to not have an amazing connection, ore is having a spot of bad luck.
-
You sound like someone that's been getting rekt...
-
There should be specific playlists that require a good connection. That way people who have a good connection can play with others that have a good connection and people who use the free Wifi at McDonald's can play each other.

6 RespuestasSorry that I'm far away from my router and that the other 5 members in my family sometimes uses the WiFi

I only report them when they red bar but go like 25 and 2 and their lag makes them unhurtable.
-
As far as red bars go, never happened in pvp but for some reason it puts me in some weird pve lobbies... I've been showing red bar in patrol which is really odd. 80 down 10 up
-
I believe if people don't meet the requirements to play they shouldn't be allowed into the crucible as it ruins everyone's experience who meets the minimum requirements. I could careless over pve, but if they can't establish a yellow to green bar then why play pvp if it's not even enjoyable for the users as they jump across the who map.

But I have potato Internet. I don't mean to cheat ;-;
-
The reason Ive got a red bar is because internet in my area is bad. Ive always had a red bar, I never lag its just that my ping is really high.
-
Was in a lobby with a guy who was just teleporting all over the map because of lag. He had like 30 kills that game.

Lmao report this post

66 RespuestasYou are disgusting. Some people can't afford better internet and they don't need people reporting them for it.

I usually report people with red bars if they kill me over and over, because they didn't die as a result of their lag. But I've realized reporting them does nothing...
