Hey all! Mr Pwnzor here with another forum post, this time about The Taken King and easier more efficient and full proof ways to down some of the new Raid Bosses in "King's Fall" new raid.
INTRO (Misconceptions):
First off, I'd like to congratulate anyone who was able to complete some or all of the raid within the first few days of release to get week 1 loot and strategies. Hats off to you.
With that being said - all strategies are definitely capable of being updated and morphed into a flawless mechanism of winning. There is a common misconception that the strategies found on day 1,2,3 are "THE STRATEGIES THAT WORK BRO" lol when really there is always room for improvement. There are hundreds of videos online of people doing the same strategies.
Think outside of the box and you'll find easier ways to succeed.
***DISCLAIMER***
I am not claiming that I invented these strategies nor do I care. I am just informing the public of the strategies I use that work better even with lower geared teams.
WARPRIEST (Let the darkness consume you, Guardian):
Overview of fight: Summon the Warpriest, kill all adds, kill the hive major on all 3 sides, someone reads the tablet for platform order sequence, Fireteam completes sequence and gets a buff to damage the boss.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
The Old:
The strategy on the internet everywhere says that the Guardian with the Aura of Death or whatever it is called is to shoot off acolytes and increase his time with the buff to allow for more boss damage.
The New:
Literally the most simple strategy of all time, is to NOT REACT TO THE DEBUFF. The second the aura is attached to a guardian, all 6 guardians should stack and just start sniping the hell out of Warpriest's head. LET THE PERSON WITH AURA DIE. JUST LET HIM DIE. The aura will be bounced to someone else for a full time. LET HIM DIE TOO. It will then be bounced again. JUST KEEP DYING WITH THE AURA. YOU GET ALMOST A FULL MINUTE6 ATTACKING OPPOSED TO 10 secs. The buff lasts so long in fact that you can revive the first dead guardian who had the buff and he can keep damaging the boss. And the second guardian will be at around 8-10 seconds till revive when you need to hide behind the relic. All guardians attacking with no concerns of surroundings is a lot more damage. On top of that we were able to do it in only 2 TABLETS this way. Trust me the damage buff lasts soooooo long. It makes this fight a joke and it literally seems like they will have to patch the aura bouncing to decrease to a set global fight time rather than a time per guardian buff. TRUST ME ITS SO EASY AND NO ONE DIES
GOLGOROTH (6 orbs buff? 2 gazers? How about 1 orb buff and 1 gazer!!):
Overview of fight: Summon the boss, kill all adds, kill all hive major adepts, boss is ready to be damage indicated by the orbs that spawn on the ceiling to shoot down.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
The Old:
The intended strategy is to do all 6 orb buffs in the order R1, L1, R2, L2, R3, L3 (or left and right can switch. Whatever). There is also new talk about hopping on a crate to switch gazes whether it be all 6 orb buffs or just L1 and L2.
The New:
Instead of hectic runaround tactics, missing gazes, people dying, totem being filled, curse thralls blowing up damage guardians, blue orbs killing the gazers... How bout we try something with less room for error.
USE ONLY ONE GAZER AND ONE DAMAGE ORB BUFF AS 5 GUARDIANS HEAVILY DPS. The gazer should be someone with a sharp shot. Also would help if it was a titan so he can leave a weapons bubble to stand in as he shoots the gaze. The idea is to have him stand on the gaze cheese spot and take only 1 gaze and shoot all orbs as 5 teammates tether and SNIPE THE HELL out of golgoroth. That's right ONE ORB BUFF EACH DAMAGE PHASE. THATS IT. rinse and repeat. At 15% taken start showing up which lets you know you're close to victory. At this time the orb buffs appear twice as quick. Make sure you get 2 final nice damage phases in. WITH THIS STRATEGY, NOT ONE GUARDIAN DIED, AND WE WERE GETTING FULL TIME ON 1 ORB WITH 5 GUARDIANS, AVERAGING 20% DAMAGE PER DAMAGE PHASE WITH JUST 1 ORB. I'm telling you - this method is genius and it WORKS SO WELL. My team was 285 light average with me the gazer sitting at 295 when I should have been damaging. And we beat it this way first try.
That's all I got so far.
I WILL UPLOAD VIDEOS AND UPDATE THIS THREAD AFTER I FULLY DOWN DEATHSINGER AND ORYX WITH NEW STRATS WE ARE WORKING ON. THEY ARE LOOKING GOOD.
Thanks for reading.

EDIT 1: you are all crazy for the most part. This is an alternate strategy as stated. You are claiming these don't work when I completed them multiple times last week. You claim that it does less damage for Warpriest and golgoroth but it doesn't. Just please try these before you bash them. These are normal mode strategies for lower light level groups.

Note: initiate buff death penalty is easier to cheese of you have a few self rez warlocks.

7 RespuestasJust skimmed through - but I see a lot of discussion about the Brand of the Initiate buff. On both of our run throughs, we had the person with the buff constantly shoot adds - ignoring the time completely. It works a treat.
-
For warpriest don't kill the acolyte until the counter is at 1 or 2. Full time and no need to die.

The first time I did the ogre we did one gaze one orb and worked amazing. Joined a group yesterday with someone trying to explain two gazers 6 orbs to like 3 new people... the dude just ended up leaving saying one gazer one orb wasn't fast enough...

Thanks for alternates!

A guy below mathematically proved your Warpriest strategy to be inferior to using the intended game mechanics, and his logic checks out. Further, they probably will patch your method. I'm not telling you that your method doesn't work. I'm sure it does. But these reasons are why no one should even consider your strategy: 1) Mathematically, more damage is out put using intended mechanics. 2) There is a risk of it being patched and needing to learn proper mechanics anyway. 3) The real kicker - it will never work in a hard mode raid.
-
That warpriest strat sounds legit for hard mode (no revives).
-
I already did both of them.
-
I did both of these and my party did considerable more damage. Thanks for the super mega awesome tips bruh!

We actually do the dying tactic on warpriest lol. We noticed it did more

1 RespuestaI found it funny when he said his Warpriest strategy of not shooting ads and letting it kill you. Then afterwards he said not a single guardian died. Whatever

2 RespuestasEditado por Zynastor: 9/23/2015 8:43:58 AMThese strategies are not optimal for low level groups. DPS thresholds are meant to be maxed with all game mechanics; that is, if you skip a game mechanic, you must do more DPS. For instance, High level players can solo gaze and 1 orb Golgoroth, but the team must perform much greater in DPS than a team with two decent gazers and one thrall player. Additionally, six players DPS on Warpriest is greater than cycling less players. --thing is, if you can make up for neglecting the mechanic with higher DPS, then press on and rely on your weapons to complete the raid while omitting the challenge a great deal of players like myself actually play for -- remember why you're playing: Community/Social interaction, Rewards/Progress// constant measurable growth... the temporary escape, and my god, the challenge. Don't let time be a factor. there is no need to grind or 'cheese' in these games we play and pursue as a choice. Honestly... just learn the damn raid and respect the mechanics. this game is meant to be enjoyed. For players who want to cheese everything: Cheese the loot system, reach 310, neglect every mechanic in the raid, and finally DPS every boss. Remember: this game is designed for players to aim for flawless raider; any strategy that involves dying is simply not the intent of a good raid -- the one you have been gifted. p.s. Warpriest: It is obvious, you do not understand this encounter. a simple observer will claim the aura is extended when adds are killed. what a seasoned player will catch is that there is a set amount of time for aura, and that aura will reset every enemy kill. think of it as six segments of ten seconds, where killing an add skips to the next segment. to maximize DPS, reduce the time wasted (by killing ads last-second). As for incoming damage, there are ideal places to both DPS, and take cover. But hey, I can understand that not everyone can conquer a raid mechanic, let alone teach it. If this is the case, then sure, carry on my wayward son. all you need is to answer this: would you like Velveeta or Provolone?
-
If you play the mechanic the way you are supposed to you can actually have 15 -20 more seconds to shoot at the war priest then letting people die.

2 RespuestasEditado por Kurasaki: 9/23/2015 10:36:20 AMNo offense but warpreist strat is literally the worst strat I've ever heard... (Aside from your whole fireteam killing themselves with that strat being useless in hardmode)..you can still get 52seconds, versus 60 with half the team dead and in need of a revive, with everyone alive as long as the aura wielder kills an add everytime the timer Is at 2 seconds...they just need to keep an add in their sights and stare at their timer... Honestly can't tell if that strat was a troll or not...
-
You sir are a troll. So you tell us to do this "LET THE PERSON WITH AURA DIE.JUST LET HIM DIE." "JUST KEEP DYING WITH THE AURA." then after you explain yr so called strat you say this "TRUST ME ITS SO EASY AND NO ONE DIES" Are you serious your strat revolves around a person dying and at the end you say no one dies STOP TROLLING I have already beaten this thing and both of yr strats are terrible, in the first you will get more dps with ppl staying alive rather then killing them off. With golgoroth if you are averaging only 20% per bubble with 5 ppl you sir are definitely doing it wrong, from what i have done you can get him to 50% with 3 bubbles with 3 ppl shooting him.

1 RespuestaMight try your war priest strat sounds good, and that's how we gig gorgloth last week with just the one orb, also get a sun breaker to punch him, increased our dos from 45k with 1000 yard stare to 88k
-
I'll just quickly add you as friend :)
-
Our raid team figured the strat on the ogre first day. We beat him saturday day 2 in 10-12min. works like a charm. War Priest strat seems good, i'll have to try, but the times i held bubble i was able to kill acolytes pretty well and even if I died we still had 4-5 DPSing at all times
-
1 RespuestaYour -blam!-ing strategies are garbage fam

Can confirm warpriest strategy. It works quite well.
