Hey all! Mr Pwnzor here with another forum post, this time about The Taken King and easier more efficient and full proof ways to down some of the new Raid Bosses in "King's Fall" new raid.
INTRO (Misconceptions):
First off, I'd like to congratulate anyone who was able to complete some or all of the raid within the first few days of release to get week 1 loot and strategies. Hats off to you.
With that being said - all strategies are definitely capable of being updated and morphed into a flawless mechanism of winning. There is a common misconception that the strategies found on day 1,2,3 are "THE STRATEGIES THAT WORK BRO" lol when really there is always room for improvement. There are hundreds of videos online of people doing the same strategies.
Think outside of the box and you'll find easier ways to succeed.
***DISCLAIMER***
I am not claiming that I invented these strategies nor do I care. I am just informing the public of the strategies I use that work better even with lower geared teams.
WARPRIEST (Let the darkness consume you, Guardian):
Overview of fight: Summon the Warpriest, kill all adds, kill the hive major on all 3 sides, someone reads the tablet for platform order sequence, Fireteam completes sequence and gets a buff to damage the boss.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
The Old:
The strategy on the internet everywhere says that the Guardian with the Aura of Death or whatever it is called is to shoot off acolytes and increase his time with the buff to allow for more boss damage.
The New:
Literally the most simple strategy of all time, is to NOT REACT TO THE DEBUFF. The second the aura is attached to a guardian, all 6 guardians should stack and just start sniping the hell out of Warpriest's head. LET THE PERSON WITH AURA DIE. JUST LET HIM DIE. The aura will be bounced to someone else for a full time. LET HIM DIE TOO. It will then be bounced again. JUST KEEP DYING WITH THE AURA. YOU GET ALMOST A FULL MINUTE6 ATTACKING OPPOSED TO 10 secs. The buff lasts so long in fact that you can revive the first dead guardian who had the buff and he can keep damaging the boss. And the second guardian will be at around 8-10 seconds till revive when you need to hide behind the relic. All guardians attacking with no concerns of surroundings is a lot more damage. On top of that we were able to do it in only 2 TABLETS this way. Trust me the damage buff lasts soooooo long. It makes this fight a joke and it literally seems like they will have to patch the aura bouncing to decrease to a set global fight time rather than a time per guardian buff. TRUST ME ITS SO EASY AND NO ONE DIES
GOLGOROTH (6 orbs buff? 2 gazers? How about 1 orb buff and 1 gazer!!):
Overview of fight: Summon the boss, kill all adds, kill all hive major adepts, boss is ready to be damage indicated by the orbs that spawn on the ceiling to shoot down.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
The Old:
The intended strategy is to do all 6 orb buffs in the order R1, L1, R2, L2, R3, L3 (or left and right can switch. Whatever). There is also new talk about hopping on a crate to switch gazes whether it be all 6 orb buffs or just L1 and L2.
The New:
Instead of hectic runaround tactics, missing gazes, people dying, totem being filled, curse thralls blowing up damage guardians, blue orbs killing the gazers... How bout we try something with less room for error.
USE ONLY ONE GAZER AND ONE DAMAGE ORB BUFF AS 5 GUARDIANS HEAVILY DPS. The gazer should be someone with a sharp shot. Also would help if it was a titan so he can leave a weapons bubble to stand in as he shoots the gaze. The idea is to have him stand on the gaze cheese spot and take only 1 gaze and shoot all orbs as 5 teammates tether and SNIPE THE HELL out of golgoroth. That's right ONE ORB BUFF EACH DAMAGE PHASE. THATS IT. rinse and repeat. At 15% taken start showing up which lets you know you're close to victory. At this time the orb buffs appear twice as quick. Make sure you get 2 final nice damage phases in. WITH THIS STRATEGY, NOT ONE GUARDIAN DIED, AND WE WERE GETTING FULL TIME ON 1 ORB WITH 5 GUARDIANS, AVERAGING 20% DAMAGE PER DAMAGE PHASE WITH JUST 1 ORB. I'm telling you - this method is genius and it WORKS SO WELL. My team was 285 light average with me the gazer sitting at 295 when I should have been damaging. And we beat it this way first try.
That's all I got so far.
I WILL UPLOAD VIDEOS AND UPDATE THIS THREAD AFTER I FULLY DOWN DEATHSINGER AND ORYX WITH NEW STRATS WE ARE WORKING ON. THEY ARE LOOKING GOOD.
Thanks for reading.

EDIT 1: you are all crazy for the most part. This is an alternate strategy as stated. You are claiming these don't work when I completed them multiple times last week. You claim that it does less damage for Warpriest and golgoroth but it doesn't. Just please try these before you bash them. These are normal mode strategies for lower light level groups.

The one gaze strat actually works the warpriest one is bad
-
If you only get ten seconds in the old warpriest method you're doing it horribly wrong
-
the one orb one gazer works amazing! I highly recommend it!

7 RespuestasTried the one gazer tactic for over an hour yesterday... The minute we switched back to the tried and true back and forth way he went down IMO if you're gonna do the 1 gazer strat the gazer has to be the G.O.A.T. It might be too much for one to handle Calling time bringing gaze over and shooting orbs The 1 orb strat means you'll fight ads every time also. Which means you'll be pushing that enraged timer. I'm open to improvement but I've yet to see 1 gazer work. Your Warpriest strat does sound mighty interesting too! Good stuff =]

Anyone who criticises OP's Golgoroth strategy needs to try it. My first run through we did it the gaze-swapping way and it was hectic, so many callouts, coordination, precise timing and multitasking add-control and timing revives. Then someone told me about the one gaze strategy ... the next two run throughs we killed Golgoroth first try with no deaths and no hassles and never saw the enrage timer. There's no exploding thralls threatening you DPS, there's no gaze swapping or orb dropping on the fly. It's just a leisurely stroll down to the pool ... 5 of you shoot ... jump back out ... boom! 25-30% of its health gone. Anyone who thinks it doesn't work or isn't as efficient is in denial.
-
Can you bump me for later? I'll help to confirm/deny these strategies too. Always good to think out of the box.

You can down warpriest in 2 runs if you have the Dps. Why would you actually let the add guy die when he can give you 40+ seconds of debuff with 5 people shooting opposed to a minute of shooting with 1 less person every 9 seconds? The numbers just don't add up there. Your golgoroth strat is also heavily flawed. 3 guys with snipers can get him to half health in a 6 orb run. You just need to figure out how to Dps properly...

Lmfao, Warpriest-ignore debuff, let person die. Same fight-trust me, no one dies... Seems legit

13 RespuestasI can prove your warpriest strategy wrong mathematically. If you let each guardian die 1 by 1, the amount of guardians you have dpsing during eah 10 second interval is 6, 5, 4, 3, 3, and 3. This averages out to be 4 people alive damaging him for 60 seconds. This is worth one person with 240 seconds of straight damage. The other strategy you have 5 guardians up for about 50-55 seconds. That's 250-275 seconds of one person's straight damage.
-
One gazer works just as well as the old way IF you have a competent team. If the team is full of people without experience having one person take the gaze is a lot easier. Idk about the warpriest one, it just sounds wrong to me.. But I'll give it a try next week.
-
The normal Warpriest strategy works better. 5 guardians doing constant damage > 6 at first but then slowly dying one by one for less damage.
-
What is the gazer cheese spot?

Nice One.. Reply please

Editado por Soj27: 9/24/2015 8:45:03 AMThe one orb one takes way longer, I'm not saying it doesn't work but it takes longer, I have not heard the waepriest one, seems to make sense, all the numbers add up but it is not that hard to kill one acolyte, and we've done him in three runs the "old" way

1 RespuestaEditado por El_JEFE_Pumba: 9/23/2015 11:58:34 PMjust passing by to say i use your strat on warpriest and if you got a good team work like a charm. has for people saying this wont work on hard mode . probably but thats not hard mode and just learn to master both tactics thats all. or dont sometimes trying to stay alive is not the only way. kabr prove that in vog when he sacrificed homself for greater good give it time ppl wil join the movement like back in crota end when people whwre trying to do it by the stairs instead of the middle.

2 RespuestasEditado por the ben obiwan: 9/24/2015 8:39:29 AMNo thanks on both of these strats. We've been one shooting the raid all the way up to oryx with our strats (who still kills us, but we've beat him) Warpriest Don't die with the curse, just kill 1 enemy at 0 seconds. There are 6 charges on the curse, and one disappears with each kill. That means you still get a full minute AND you don't loose the DPS of all the guys who die using your strat. Golgoroth Don't loose the gaze everytime, just have someone grab it and run down the right corridor. What is easier, killing all the adds that spawn, or just walking to the next spot? We just use the left orbs, left guy takes the gaze and DPS from L1, then someone jumps up and gets the gaze while we re-position on the L2 orb then after the 3rd orb he closes his back, you wipe the adds and start again. Why would you want to kill the mobs over and over again? That is really a waste of time.

Been doing the one orb method all last week. I find it the best and safest way.
