Hey all! Mr Pwnzor here with another forum post, this time about The Taken King and easier more efficient and full proof ways to down some of the new Raid Bosses in "King's Fall" new raid.
INTRO (Misconceptions):
First off, I'd like to congratulate anyone who was able to complete some or all of the raid within the first few days of release to get week 1 loot and strategies. Hats off to you.
With that being said - all strategies are definitely capable of being updated and morphed into a flawless mechanism of winning. There is a common misconception that the strategies found on day 1,2,3 are "THE STRATEGIES THAT WORK BRO" lol when really there is always room for improvement. There are hundreds of videos online of people doing the same strategies.
Think outside of the box and you'll find easier ways to succeed.
***DISCLAIMER***
I am not claiming that I invented these strategies nor do I care. I am just informing the public of the strategies I use that work better even with lower geared teams.
WARPRIEST (Let the darkness consume you, Guardian):
Overview of fight: Summon the Warpriest, kill all adds, kill the hive major on all 3 sides, someone reads the tablet for platform order sequence, Fireteam completes sequence and gets a buff to damage the boss.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
The Old:
The strategy on the internet everywhere says that the Guardian with the Aura of Death or whatever it is called is to shoot off acolytes and increase his time with the buff to allow for more boss damage.
The New:
Literally the most simple strategy of all time, is to NOT REACT TO THE DEBUFF. The second the aura is attached to a guardian, all 6 guardians should stack and just start sniping the hell out of Warpriest's head. LET THE PERSON WITH AURA DIE. JUST LET HIM DIE. The aura will be bounced to someone else for a full time. LET HIM DIE TOO. It will then be bounced again. JUST KEEP DYING WITH THE AURA. YOU GET ALMOST A FULL MINUTE6 ATTACKING OPPOSED TO 10 secs. The buff lasts so long in fact that you can revive the first dead guardian who had the buff and he can keep damaging the boss. And the second guardian will be at around 8-10 seconds till revive when you need to hide behind the relic. All guardians attacking with no concerns of surroundings is a lot more damage. On top of that we were able to do it in only 2 TABLETS this way. Trust me the damage buff lasts soooooo long. It makes this fight a joke and it literally seems like they will have to patch the aura bouncing to decrease to a set global fight time rather than a time per guardian buff. TRUST ME ITS SO EASY AND NO ONE DIES
GOLGOROTH (6 orbs buff? 2 gazers? How about 1 orb buff and 1 gazer!!):
Overview of fight: Summon the boss, kill all adds, kill all hive major adepts, boss is ready to be damage indicated by the orbs that spawn on the ceiling to shoot down.
STOP RIGHT THERE.
The Old:
The intended strategy is to do all 6 orb buffs in the order R1, L1, R2, L2, R3, L3 (or left and right can switch. Whatever). There is also new talk about hopping on a crate to switch gazes whether it be all 6 orb buffs or just L1 and L2.
The New:
Instead of hectic runaround tactics, missing gazes, people dying, totem being filled, curse thralls blowing up damage guardians, blue orbs killing the gazers... How bout we try something with less room for error.
USE ONLY ONE GAZER AND ONE DAMAGE ORB BUFF AS 5 GUARDIANS HEAVILY DPS. The gazer should be someone with a sharp shot. Also would help if it was a titan so he can leave a weapons bubble to stand in as he shoots the gaze. The idea is to have him stand on the gaze cheese spot and take only 1 gaze and shoot all orbs as 5 teammates tether and SNIPE THE HELL out of golgoroth. That's right ONE ORB BUFF EACH DAMAGE PHASE. THATS IT. rinse and repeat. At 15% taken start showing up which lets you know you're close to victory. At this time the orb buffs appear twice as quick. Make sure you get 2 final nice damage phases in. WITH THIS STRATEGY, NOT ONE GUARDIAN DIED, AND WE WERE GETTING FULL TIME ON 1 ORB WITH 5 GUARDIANS, AVERAGING 20% DAMAGE PER DAMAGE PHASE WITH JUST 1 ORB. I'm telling you - this method is genius and it WORKS SO WELL. My team was 285 light average with me the gazer sitting at 295 when I should have been damaging. And we beat it this way first try.
That's all I got so far.
I WILL UPLOAD VIDEOS AND UPDATE THIS THREAD AFTER I FULLY DOWN DEATHSINGER AND ORYX WITH NEW STRATS WE ARE WORKING ON. THEY ARE LOOKING GOOD.
Thanks for reading.

EDIT 1: you are all crazy for the most part. This is an alternate strategy as stated. You are claiming these don't work when I completed them multiple times last week. You claim that it does less damage for Warpriest and golgoroth but it doesn't. Just please try these before you bash them. These are normal mode strategies for lower light level groups.

Can't really comment on the Golgoroth strat, but the Warpriest strat is viable. My fireteam sort of fell into to it tonight, we ran it as normal but one of the lads got a bit to excited and forgot to kill ads so the buff bounced and because we didn't notice we just kept hitting the Warpriest and like you said revived the blokes as it went on. We continued this on the second run to and nearly had him, he literally had a sliver of health left. If I didn't do this tonight I would of thought you were nuts suggesting this strat but it is a good strat and it seems faster to, don't ask me how or why.

6 RespuestasLol that war priest one is a doozy. You think we magically figured out how to extend the time with the debuff? No. We kept dying 1 by 1 and our dps dropped, I actually worked it out by the death screen having a tally of adds killed with aura. Maybe let your timer time down to 2 secs then kill an add. I get a full minute each phase as aura carrier with 5 guardians shooting his face off the whole time. Your gorgoroth one is retarded. If you can't communicate enough to be a gazer then you shouldn't be raiding tbh. The reason you use all 6 bubbles is because he enrages. We can nearly bring him down in one full phase this way. I notice you haven't dropped anything for deathsingers or oryx, is this because you haven't even beat them yet or because you haven't even got up to them with yo trash tactics

Bring this back and don't let us forget who started these strats

2 RespuestasEditado por I shock value I: 9/24/2015 1:35:30 PMIdiot. Your Warpriest "strategy" is moronic! What are you going to do in the Heroic raid when people can't be resurrected?! Thanks for tying to share with the community... But please don't share complete bollocks in future. Simple need to wait for the timer to get to 2 seconds, kill ad, reset timer, help your team dps Warpriest, reset the timer again at 2 seconds. Rinse repeat.
-
2 RespuestasOmg everybody check this kids grimoire. Giving out raid strats and he hasn't even beaten oryx. I'm done yo
-
7 RespuestasYour war priest strategy is laughable. The old strat is better. The key is the kills RESET the timer to ten. So if you kill five mobs while holding the aura then your wasting your damage window. Just kill a mob around 2secs and you can get 40seconds easy without everyone dying.

Some of these strategies are ridiculously awful.

Simply lay down, spread your ass checks, and let that big ass mofo take his revenge
-
1 RespuestaDid everything other than oryx first week. Finished oryx with my new raid group the the day of reset. Raid Is definitely easier when everyone knows what they are doing and have a higher light level.
-
Bring this back. Since this post I've had a lot of guardians reach out and say the golgoroth strat is great. War priest needs some work

1 RespuestaWar priest strategy is dumb. Having the aura holder DPS until about 3 seconds then kill an add and repeat until it switches. If you don't react to the buff and you have a minute to DPS that means everyone would die because buff lasts 10 seconds a person. Also every time aura holder dies the buff disappears for 2-3 seconds cutting DPS even more

Editado por REXEL: 9/24/2015 10:19:19 PMDid the one gaze strat and it works, didnt have much of a choice since there was only 5 people in my group. If everyone has weapons that are powerful enough the one gaze strat is a lot safer, you can lay waste to all the adds on tge bottom after everyone jumps back up. The empyrean bellicose is also very helpful for doing the one gaze strat.
-
5 RespuestasThe 1 gazer strat works. Did it last night. Just have them count down when it hits ten and everyone leave at 3. Kill ads then do the same thing again. You can get him down in 5 trys.
-
4 RespuestasEditado por Scova: 9/24/2015 4:00:09 PMYou need 2 gazers because 1 doesn't work. If you only have one gazer, than after he gazes he can't do it again because he can't see golgoroths back to keep his gaze Also warpriest strat is just plain stupid. If the person in the bible kills ads at last possible second, then talk will last just as long with everyone alive.

Editado por l Ellz l: 9/24/2015 3:42:07 PMWarpriest strategy is dangerous, if you get sniped by the mobs incoming. But at the same time it seems like a nice way to not worry too much.
-
My thoughts: Warpriest strategy For inexperienced raiding groups yes your method is definitely better as there is less to think about and easier to do. For experienced groups no, because they just want to get through it quicker and are always able to get an add in the last two seconds every time, so it's faster overall. Golgoroth strategy Pretty much the same as above. For new groups your strategy is better because there are less things to worry about thus less room for error, but with two gazers, and experiences group with sufficient light can down golgoroth in 2-3 rounds if they do 2 orbs (first gazer doing his thing, second gazer damaging second orb, then second gazer takes gaze and first gazer going into the pit as 6th attacker) Overall good ideas.
-
We did this yesterday and beat him easily, less stress and all you gotta worry about is shooting the boss.
-
They sound like they work and seem interesting, especially golgoroth. But letting people die at warpriest doesn't seem conventional. We just stack each glyph with strongest and weakest. Weakest takes the glyph so the strongest never miss dps. Your strategy would be good for people who have never done it before or people who might panic with the relic. But at this point every one in my team knows what they're doing and it's sooooo easy to take him down in two rotations.
-
Bad practice for hardmode. Don't do it.
