Wtf is with the "New" drop rate...?
Alright bungie it's year 2 and I know I shouldn't be expecting everything to drop at once.. but I can't stand to play hours and hours on end and have let's see 3 legendary engrams drop for my time spent and that's been since the drop last tuesday.. 3 legendarys... 3.. not to mention people on my fire team tend to pick up 3-4 of them in a days run thru destiny.. if this is what I have to look forward then I'm glad I kept the receipt.. I'm not spending another 150+ hours on game that I'm not gonna get (scuse my french) SHIT from... thanks destiny.. Oh and P.S. I also did the nightfall maybe 20 mins ago.. guess what I got?!? 2 rare pieces of armour that were no better than what I had on and the other 2 people in my fire team both got exotics!! If that's not a giant F*** you then I don't know what is...

Complete all crucible and vanguard bounties each day. Pledge a faction. This will make you rank up frequently. I'd say about one in two faction/vanguard/crucible/cryptarch packages gives you a legendary. Do the daily heroic story (if you can) and daily crucible playlist once. Do the missions/quests. Buy your own legendaries with legendary marks when you can. The grind is way too real with this game, but that is the reason when you finally get what you want, it feels so good. Tldr: improve your odds. If grinding is still not your thing, this game may not be for you.

Drop rate is fantastically balanced atm between rare and leg drops. Don't ruin it bungie and give in to the I want everything on a plate people
