Public Service Announcement: Farm can be shared.
So, lately there seem to be a large number of players sweating extra hard during Patrol to kill enemies, most notably Majors, before other players can put damage on the enemy to receive credit.
This behavior can be seen at its most excessive levels on Mars outside the Dust Palace, where players will often rush past the mobs that spawn near the fuel tanks and in the lower lobby area, so that they can reach and kill the guaranteed Centurion Major at the top level while other players are eliminating the mobs below.
If you encounter these types in the field, and don't wish to move to a new area, sit in the guaranteed spawn area and use your sniper rifle to continue farming distant enemies until they leave, people like this are rushing because they're young, selfish, impatient, or all three, and will usually vacate after a couple minutes of their behavior being denied. In the case of the Mars location above, try sitting on the ledge overlooking the outside areas, you'll keep the Centurion from respawning, and you can snipe Majors that spawn below to the left and right.
To these players: Farm can be shared, I know you're selfish and young, but sharing is caring. Have a nice day.

Why even do that...all you have to do is walk/run behind said overzealous Guardian and if your character is close to the character killing the enemy,"you" will get the kill for "free". I call it kill leeching...we can all do it...its how fire teams share xp from killing Ads.

While on Mars today, in the Buried City, a guy did everything to kill the vex majors before I could just tag them. It's ok, one that he killed dropped a legendary engram for me. He eventually left and another guy showed up. We made sure each tagged the enemy before taking it down. No reason not to let others get credit for a kill, especially when it's a bounty. But then, I do know how to share.

2 RespuestasRan into an a-hole that was sitting and preventing the spawns on the first level. Sent them a message, reported them, but forgot to block. Ran into the same a-hole on Venus ten minutes later. Went to orblit and then back.

I really don't think it is right for you to ruin others experience because you are offended on how someone wants to play the game. If it is so offensive to you just leave and come back.

There are nice people that understand the concept and wait for you or catch up with you. Ran for 10 minutes with a random today. Not everybody is dumb.

You do realise that you can just stand next to anyone getting the kill and get the kill yourself without doing anything, I'm not sure if you do, but all you need to do is stand there and let peeps do what they do with minimal effort.

While farming cabal majors in the room you explained....if you jump out from the platform and glide back onto it, the majors will respawn. I was getting sniper kills from the platform while also allowing randoms to farm majors. Be a team player..makes the game more enjoyable for everyone :)

I don't know what the issue is this week but, yeah, terrible behavior. I had two guys IMMEDIATELY try to block the Buried City spawn on Mars the other day when I showed up. I found something else to do outside the game, did a nearby public event and then they got tired and left first without getting to use the spawn. Lol (Haven't lost of of those showdowns yet... Kids have no patience)

I've occasionally ran into people that do this, which I believe they do it because they were there first... but what ever, go to orbit and go back down or move to a different location. Sitting there is pointless, your wasting your time.

7 RespuestasBack in the days of the loot cave, people would sit in there to stop the spawns. Bungie stated that using a loot cave isn't the way they intended the game to be played but didn't stop it until they patched it. They did state that sitting in a spawn to prevent others from looting/farming was interfering with the way people want to play, and considered it a reportable offense. I'm not saying I disagree with your sentiment, just saying that if enough people report you for it, you will be the one getting a ban (but really you probably never will get a ban, and if you did it would probably be a very short temporary one for something like this). My point is that you seem to be coming from a place that wishes for people to be cooperative instead of competitive and preventing others from enjoying the game, so I wouldn't want you to get banned when the spirit of your actions is to promote more cooperation.

I usually don't have a issue with this most of the time. Usually I just go with the group and keep making the circle. Only time it's an issue is when someone just sits there on the spawn doing nothing for a while or they immediately double back and then return.

Haha. I usually will yield the farming grounds and just wait. Unless it is unclear if you are farming. And if you send me impolite messages, then my character will dance in the spawn for hours until you send me a nice message. (0.0,)

2 RespuestasPeople really need to lighten up or just reload the map if it's that important. I was eating a bowl of cereal while sitting down in Old Russia and I got a message from some brat who claimed to report me for it. Apparently he couldn't get his cheese there and rather than just find a session where someone wasn't afk he got himself all worked up and reported a person playing legit. People should stop getting so butthurt over nothing and just reload the map.
