Don't worry about your level dude. The cap is going to be 34, which you can earn with bounties alone. Not sure what your Light Level will be, might be significantly lower than those with 3 34s. As we aren't sure if the cap is being raised to 40, it is going to be at least 34, based on what XP you can accumulate before TTK drops

You have one week of being on a level playing field before light level kicks in. In this coming week, level up as much as you can, or I guarantee you'll fall behind any friends you play with. If you need both level and gear, a person who only needs gear will progress much faster when TTK drops.

Having better gear when the expac hits will make the starting quests go faster. From experience in other MMOs the new gear will replace the old almost immediately but the difference in speed between those with the best gear from the last xpac and those without is noticeable and, to me, bothersome. I'm used to being in the top tier of players and anything less isn't good enough for me.
