I think swords in this game are for children. Its suppose to be the future but not many if any weapons seem to be futuristic. A sword seems like a step backward instead of forward to me.

I dont know what SAO is, but I want to see Lightsabers EVERYWHERE!!! I hope they add them to Gears of War, World of Warcraft, Halo 12, and Tomb Raider! Lightsabers FTW!!!

Sword Art Online, it's an anime, first 14 episodes of season 2 is the Phantom Bullet arc where the main character uses a Lightsaber

A child? Because Star Wars is only for children? Ill use your words if you dont mind. Your opinion. I brought up Star Wars to use it as an example of another Sci-Fi universe that employs the use of melee weapons in (my opinion) wonderful fashion. That is all. Also, Star Wars has been around for decades longer than Im sure you have been alive. It is one of the longest still running Sci Fi entities out there and arguably the most successful and most profitable. I dont think children made that happen. No need to be snide.

Again I ask, why all the venom in your posts? You are condescending and rude and its really not necessary. You have no idea how old I am and yet you keep calling me "child" and "kid." You look down on me because I like swords, as if swords are somehow juvenile or childish. Have you ever tried using a sword? Using a sword IRL takes a great deal of training, practice and skill to master. Ever heard of Samurai's? Were they all children? Certainly they began their training with the sword as children but that is only because it takes years to master. Back to Star Wars: When you say you were 13 when it dropped in theaters; which episode are you referring to? The "first" Star Wars film to release was episode IV which hit theaters in 1977. If you were 13 at the time then you were born in 1964 which makes you 51 years old. If that is indeed the case, then you are certainly old enough to be my father and therefore your use of the words "child" and "kid",albeit still rude and condescending, are accurate.
