location: Eros system
Captain Volkov sits in the leather upholstered chair on the bridge of Jaegar XV. two of his crew mill around the surveillance and status consoles which shine as their multicolored lights wink on and off. it is eerily quiet, the only sounds coming from the vibrations of the dormant thrusters. they purr like a sleeping lion which could roar to life at any second.
the crew is in this system to "obtain" resources from the mining bots drifting in the systems asteroid fields. since the ship does not have mining equipment, and the crew needs money to pay for supplies, they must improvise for material collection.
"we've got a material transporter preparing to move. it just finished loading up."
the man on the right says as a large boxy machine closes the hatch which it is loaded.
volkov contemplates the rewards but doesn't see a more appropriate time to strike.
"move us into position... we're taking those minerals."

You start to approach the mining bot, but the crew should've known better. Mining bots and operations always come protected. Three ships suddenly light up on your radar, approaching you quickly, trying to beat you to the mining bot. You start to get energy readings. They're going to fire. You then get a transmission. "Attention asshole! I don't care who you are, but get the hell away from our bot! If you don't, we're going to blast you into oblivion, and then you're really going to feel sorry."

*not expecting so much resistance, Volkov is a bit stunned, but won't give up that easily.* "reroute us to slingshot around the large asteroid 1000 meters on the starboard side." *the ship changes its course toward a large oddly shaped asteroid. the pressure put on the hull from the turn makes it groan slightly.* *do not accelerate until I mark.* *volkov begins to transmit a signal back to the ship that contacted him.* "I didn't know it was illegal to travel through an open system." he says with a lick of sarcasm "but we don't want any trouble, we are rerouting now." *ice particles impact the viewscreen and carelessly bounce off, the large asteroid approaches.* [spoiler]what kind of ships do they have?[/spoiler]

A destroyer, and two light cruisers. "There we go." Now stay the hell away from us. We're watching."

"target the light cruisers first, and begin a scan of their systems. if either of the light cruisers is equipped with ballistics target it first. our armor can take more damage from energy weapons." *the crew initiates the scan and punches in commands for the targeting system. the large asteroid is coming even closer but it is still not the time to accelerate.* "when we start taking fire I want to break to our starboard, use those asteroids as cover. get the thrusters ready but do not give them any indications were going to accelerate."

Your weapons ready (gatling guns). Granted, going so fast will decrease your accuracy. Both light cruiser are equipped with plasma weapons and solid armor. The destroyer however has a JAAR cannon (that's going to whip your ass) and two plasma blasters as well.

"target the light cruiser on the right, it'll be easier to hit while we're breaking to our starboard. accelerate on my mark... three... two... one... mark!" *as the ship enters the pull of the asteroid the thrusters kick on and launch the ship foreword. in a flash Jaegar XV is facing the ships and accelerating directly at the right light cruiser. it's Gatling guns spool up and rattle as led sprays from there barrels, rocketing toward the enemy vessel. the ship then breaks right.*

Not sure how to measure accuracy so we'll do it like this for now. Guess a number 1-10.

Smack dab, nearly all the bullets hit and the light cruiser explodes into bits (they only have one defense) the reloading for your ship is commencing. Granted, The Heavy Cruiser is bulky and isn't the fast thing in the world, so you're an open target. The destroyer is arming it's weapons. It fires the JAAR cannon. Guess a number.

[spoiler]dont worry I won't XD[/spoiler] [spoiler]i kinda figured since its speed is one less than the light cruiser itd still be pretty maneuverable [/spoiler] *the round from the JAAR cannon blasts through the asteroid 20 meters from Jaeger's thrusters. the asteroid explodes into a million pieces, bouncing off the hull and the other massive rocks. the massive metal rod spins uncontrollably into empty space.* "shit! evasive maneuvers!" *the light cruiser breaks off from the destroyer and pursues the heavy cruiser, gaining quickly. it's Gatling guns rattle as they spray bullets into the asteroid field, breaking off chunks of rock and whizzing past Jaeger XV.* "sir, it looks like the destroyers JAAR is offline!" one of the crew members yells over the sounds of gunfire.* "target the destroyer! if we can get it to fire its other weapons we may be able to role and cause them to impact the bastard on our tail!" *the crew rushes into action, punching commands into the consoles. the destroyer is targeted.*
