Learn how Destiny works.
A level 30 enemy takes the same damage from a 34 player as they do from a 30 player.
The level based damage caps when you reach the enemies level. So they could have been level 4000 and they still would have been doing the same damage as if they were 34.
You need to focus on their light levels, which were only 200, well below the cap, so they weren't just some OP characters.
Edit: for the illiterate, aka you guys that can't read, this applies to being OVERLEVELED. There are obvious disadvantages to being UNDERLEVELED, but being over higher level doesn't give you an advantage.
More info. Vendor gear is 280 light, so with them only being 200 light, they definitely weren't wearing OP gear, so that's what gameplay will be like when you are "appropriate" or underpowered.
Edit: I wonder if you take less damage at a higher level, can another 200 of you point this out? The first 200 people apparently didn't make it clear enough, so please keep telling me...

1 RespuestaDefense is capped too. Test it. Use your 34 armor and let yourself getting stabbed by a level 1 dreg. Then use white gear for being lvl 20 and test it again. For example: My lvl34 Titan with full armor stat needs 5 stabs to go in the red area of the hp bar. At lvl20 with all white gear he also needs 5 stabs to destroy my shield. Same damage, same armor. Defense IS capped.

Yeh people just dont understand. 34 is the same as 32 on nightfall. Only difference is ur attack value on your weapon. 365 weapon will do more damage then 331. But 34s and 32 are the same damn thing

Editado por Smoke vi7216: 8/30/2015 8:00:30 PMif it wasn't on easy mode the enemies would be elites (yellow health's) so people would do less damage plus heroic skull would make more enemies to spawn. aka HARDER.....on twitch stream they had it on easy mode
-
30 is lower den 34 so 34 do more damage lurn maths kid
-
7 RespuestasThis is wrong. The higher level you are, the more damage you do, up to a point. I'll use VoG on Hard as an example. A level 31 player will do more damage than a 30, and a 32 will do more than a 31, but 33 and 34 will still do the same damage as a level 32. This is because the level scaling only goes so far.
-
they were 4 levels higher
-
IIRC your armor advantage applies. As for attack values, that will be seen when we see level 40s playing VOG and CE. Currently, you can finish Atheon off in 1-2 timegate runs, and Crota with two swords. If 40's can do it in less, well, that will put an end to the debate.

5 RespuestasEditado por GrimL0ckDown: 8/30/2015 6:59:31 PMYou're obviously wrong, kid. Crota takes more damage from a 34 than 33
-
7 RespuestasI brought a green Sniper Rifle into Iron Banner this weekend. It's a one shot, 347 damage headshot. Same impact as Efrideet's Spear.

9 RespuestasEditado por Wolfe: 8/30/2015 5:44:46 PMThen why does my 365 fatebringer do more damage when im 34 then when im 30 in hard VOG?
-
8 RespuestasI used to think the same and still do, yet i dont understand why crota on normal takes 11 slams from a 32 and only 10 as a 34 :/

17 RespuestasThis game has been out for a year. How are people still confused about how the level and damage system works in this game? THERE IS A DAMAGE CAP. YOU DONT DO MORE DAMAGE TO AN ENEMY AS A HIGHER LEVEL.
-
Editado por AK_TheVengeful: 8/30/2015 6:18:34 PMWhile you are half right, you are also half wrong. It's true damage gets capped at the enemy's level. However, there isn't such a cap on your defensive stat. Your defensive does suffer the more levels higher you are but it's not to the same extent as how damage is treated. Thus, being 4 levels higher than your opponent does give you a nice amount of bonus health. Also, did you not see how Cosmo and Mr Fruit get body slammed by the boss a couple of times. They survived with a good portion of their health left. Since when does a melee from a boss not one shot you or leave you a tickle from death.
-
You may not deal more damage, but you take less damage, which is a huge advantage in this game.
-
Dude, that's absolutely not true. This circumstance is very similar to a hard mode VoG or the Iron Banner. The advantages at first, a level 31 or a level 33 vs a level 34, are small at first. But it's on a percentage based scale. So when a level 34 or a level 30 vs a level 34, it's monumentally different. You shred anything in your path.
-
why do people care? just be max level
-
Yeah but you receive less damage. Also since it was just a normal strike and not heroic the enemies were less aggressive.
-
So the bosses were not sponges. Isn't that what this community has been crying about for ever? There is no pleasing you people.
-
21 RespuestasSo we do the exact same damage to a level 2 Dreg than to a level 34 Dreg? Wonder why a level 34 Dreg needs 2 hits and a level 2 Dreg doesn't. And how does 32 Crota take more damage from a 34 than a 32? The advantage is slight, but it is there.

4 RespuestasEditado por SLlIK: 8/30/2015 1:05:41 PMWroooooonnngggggg. Why can you one hit vandals who are level 1s but not 32s when youre 34? Wow I kept reading and you really dont know how damage scaling in this game works huh
-
Yes I get it Einstein thanks for the lecture
-
2 RespuestasNot really..... Cota dies alot faster then a lvl 34 is hitting him.
can't wait to see that a lvl 40 will do.
-
2 RespuestasFor everyone going on about crota. Mele damage scales with the sword and relic. Gun damage does not. Gun damage DOES NOT
-
1 RespuestaAre you that stupid? I kinda feel sorry for you.
-
24 Respuestas1.You have no idea how the new system works, nobody does And 2.in the current system, being over leveled doesn't boost your attack, BUT it does boost your defense, so you take less damage, making it seem easier Either way, you're wrong
-
5 RespuestasYou apparently haven't been paying attention. Those mechanics you describe do not apply any more after the taken king comes out. So, muting you for being an ignorant twerp.
