*numbers found on Destiny Armory, I counted* So, there are currently 228 Legendary Weapons (108 Primaries, 71 Specials, 49 Heavies; across all weapon types) in Destiny. All of these will be phased out come Taken King. With the addition of Foundries, which have not all been announced, we have many possible (Hakke, Omolon, Suros, Vanguard, Tex Mechanica, Crucible, Eris, IB, Variks, Osiris, etc) and 3 confirmed. But I digress. Now, bungie is on record saying that TTK will contain twice as many guns as The Dark Below. The armory shows there are [b]38[/b] weapons from TDB, so they are only introducing 76 weapons in TTK. Less than half of what's being brushed aside I sincerely hope Im wrong about this, but Destiny's track record does not help the situation
