I loathe people who boast about their "real life priorities."
I dread coming across people like this in gaming.
You know the guy that says stuff like... "well i have real life priorities like my mortgage, my car, my wife and kid." They try to belittle you like they are somehow better than you.
Well let me tell you something dbag, I don't care about any of that. I don't care about your responsibilities or priorities.
And let me tell you that MY priority in life is watching films, going to the gym, and playing video games. Now let me ask you...why the hell are your priorities somehow better or more important than mine?

I have real life priorities...and I still manage a lot of destiny. Video games, at this moment Destiny, is my hobby...so I spend my "free time" on it. I have kids, i'm a scout leader, I lift, I like working on my car, etc...but I play a lot of destiny too (3575 grimoire yo). I agree, "i have other priorities" is an excuse people tell themselves. I have friends who say that too, so what you don't play as much as me...just don't expect to beat skolas with your 31 hunter with an unupgraded gun....I do help my friends run nightfall, PoE and stuff to get higher level stuff.

By rubbing their extremely average life priorities in your face they want to keep you quite, don't let it. People need to know they suck, You are performing a great service my friend. We all have priorities, I could go on about my possessions and keeping my wife happy. But I don't, and I won't. Because it's irrelevant when we gaming, either git gud! I think real life priorities do matter to people's lives. But they do not matter in a game. They are not the reason you can't play well and they do not excuse you for anything. If you can't play because if prorities, then don't make excuses just don't play. If you aren't very good don't blame your priorites just try to get better.

I dread coming across people like this in gaming. You know, the guys that can't understand that people may have perfectly valid reasons for (choose and combine at will): - not having completed a raid yet - having a low grimoire score - having to leave during an activity - spending a full week end on destiny - not having gally - not wanting to boot someone just because 'he's a squeeker' - being inactive for a few minutes during a strike (but else playing it normally and more than contributing to the success of the fireteam) - not really caring about what your day was like or what you do in life and just wanting to focus on and talk about the task at hand (raid, nf whatever) And often take harmless comment about one situation as a personnal criticism of theirs.

More often than not the people making them have something lacking in life anyway. Or they have the worse of both worlds in that they don't have the life they seem to covert. And are s**t at games lol. But I don't try to belittle people about their grimore or whatever I only go in all guns when they have a pop.

OP, don't take comments like that from other users or players personally. They could also be thinking in terms of how you are right now for this exact post. Everybody has different priorities. No one can say what they do is better or more important than anybody here. We all adhere to our own lives...not others. Also, if people are being toxic to you, leave them behind! These aren't people I would want to do something fun with. I'm positive you'll find a way to not let it eat at you.

Having priorities other than things that waste time. I do not ever (until now) try and make light of the fact that I do have a life beyond Destiny .. but you are most likely someone who attacks others with a low Crucible Score or doesn't have 3500 grimoire or better ... so people like me simply respond telling you that there are other things to do in life beyond killing make believe monsters. Note sure of your age, if you are under 18 your statement might make some sense ... if you are over 18 and not in college learning and growing more educated for a future, then I'll most likely be supporting you with my tax money as you grow older.

Its an excuse for not being in online everytime. Not only that, they are not boasting! If they didnt stop playing, they wont have a money or a home. Bills dont pay themselves you know! Who are you to judge them, cuz guess what? Thats going to be you in the future. Going to work, getting payed, paying bills, and you'll have less time in video games. Dont be an asshat, they are not always going to be there for you. You dont own their lives. Get that in your thick skull.

Because their priorities affect people that aren't them. Your priorities, at least the ones you listed are all about you. The examples you provided are people providing for a family, people that depend on them. Maybe when you're older (I'm assuming you're in high school/college freshman) you'll understand.

Saying that you have life priorities isn't belittling. Don't get me wrong someone can belittle you as they are saying it, but it isn't the same.
