Nobody is against letting the game evolve. Your argument is weak. Bungie themselves claimed exotics were special and would move forward with us. Exotics are unique weapons at the center of many builds.
You claim restricting these exotics would allow the game to evolve but that is false. If anything it hurts the game by limiting diversity. You claim it's boring to use the same weapons but that is the choice that should fall on the players. After all it is up to the devs to create something interesting enough for us to pursue and use. Your claim only says that the new weapons will be shit in comparison to our old ones so nobody would use them.
In the end not everyone is of the same opinion. I myself thought the exotics would always be with us due to What was said earlier but it does not bother me. I'll find new builds and weapons that cater to my style. I was never reliant on any one weapon anyway and like to change it up.

Diversity of exotics? Have you been to crucible? Thorn = crucible - in most scenarios Have you done any PVE event where Gjallahorn has not been the go-to choice? There is no diversity, I can only assume you are under impression there is diversity but i really don't see that when i play. There is a lot more pressure to deliver (on Bungie) when you know that each expansion you have to introduce something either equally as good as the previous expansion or better. The player benefits at the end. The game is not evolving if you keep using the same shit every expansion and making it okay to carry it over to the next expansion.

Once again it's up to Bungie to deliver and balance. Removing them limits diversity, thats a fact. What a player chooses to use is up to the player. This does not restrict diversity as the player is free to choose anything else. Some weapons just happen to be better than others, thanks to Bungie. You basically admit that new weapons may be shit and wouldn't use them unless you had no other choice. Thanks

No one is removing them, they are there just not viable for TTK

So you just want them to be a spotholder in the vault then? And why should any new player chase after these old ones now? What they do is take away the choises you can make as a player. And no game ever has benefitted from that.

As the game continues these weapons will be doing no damage, essentially removing their use in new content
