Year 1 End Game Content
I think this needs to be addressed at its own post. It's been said across other threads but never as a headliner:
Year 1 end game content. Why is anyone going to play it in Year 2 if the rewards are obsolete? Please don't say that the gear will still be viable in Crucible. Nobody uses Fatebringer in PvP. New players aren't going to play old content when the vendors are offering better gear with less effort to acquire it.
There stands the chance that all Year 1 end game content will have minimal replay value since the rewards are being frozen in time. Veterans won't grind for their remaining gear and new players won't play content with weak rewards.
Is Bungie throwing away Year 1 content? Are they purposely cutting out a huge chunk of their content for current and future players?
Is Bungie going to scale up Year 1 content and then have us re-grind for our old gear? They aren't above having us re-grind for gear. They're making us re-level [b]SOME[/b] exotics.
Deej, Cosmo, you guys got some answers?
EDIT: Obviously I'm also talking about bringing all exotics up to new attack levels as this game evolves.

36 RespuestasEver heard of having fun? I have no use to run crota or VOG, doesn't stop my friends and me from running each 2-3 times a week. It's a game, have some fun with it. Switch it up and approach the raids from a different perspective

4 RespuestasI would like it if they made year 2 versions of VOG and CE (higher difficulty levels) and yr 2 versions of raid gear dropped. For those that would say "but we dont wanna regrind stuff," the RNG will be better after TTK and its better then nothing.

1 RespuestaIt look like they mean for it to die. If you can get that spark of light once you get to tower and be lvl. 25 and play year 2 content no reason to do any of the rest. This is a direct result of their own design and does not appear to be a oversight. So when you install a way to skip all year 1 content that's exactly what gonna happen.

The questlines in those areas (like the one about Praedyth) are their Year 2 concession to Year 1, but "for the hell of it" will likely be the only compelling reason to do the raids as they stand.

3 RespuestasI believe Year One content will get an upgrade path somewhere in Year Two as an incentive to attract former players. Sort of like the Etheric Light from HoW. Question is: why do it now when they can graft it to the next DLC and charge 20$?

3 RespuestasI am a bit uneasy with all the loot becoming irrelevant just for some new hippie designed and cod based guns...I've had the game since beta ( the real beta not the yr 1 content experiment)...and ground for EVERYTHING. All raid gear for all 3 classes collected and all guns as well...except for praedyths timepiece (that elusive gun) and all exotics are mine. Hell I even ground for all the trials gear , all I'm missing is the summoner adept....and now bungie says throw it all away unless you want to use it in crucible.....80% of it is trash in crucible...sure I still want to buy TTK just for the story aspect...because the beginning story was just so great (sarcasm) ...so yea more disappointment from year one day one players than excitement. Thanks bungie! I look forward to your new ways of making me waste my time and then telling me it was a waste of time so they can give me something else to waste my time on and then rinse and repeat....I don't think I'll make it to year 10.
