Okay, let us keep this simple.
Bungie needs to change its terms of service and deal with the toxicity of this forum.
Anyone posting abuse, derogatory nonsense needs to be gone. These Xurner posts need to be gone. The personal attacks and such need to be gone.
We are literally killing this forum for new players and will help ruin this game.

1 Respuestaif you are going to start censoring the forums why don't we start with any post that has the word "nerf" in it. These posts are by far the most populous in the forums and the most pointless.

49 RespuestasThis site, community and forums are like any other on the Internet. They are a product of what the members consider to be important and relevant. Our hosts have given each and every one of us the tools to help make the forums into something we each think they should be. If you see a post, thread or member who you consider to be toxic? Please, please, PLEASE, use the report link below their post. Those reports queue up for moderator evaluation, review and action. We (the Ninja) can't be everywhere, we can't go into each and every thread, and view each and every post (just look at the speed and volume of #Destiny, which is just one of dozens of main forum/tags). There are only so many ninja and there are hundreds of thousands of members. If members report? That is a form of crowd-sourcing that is INCREDIBLY powerful. Also, there is the mute function. If you see another member who is consistently (or if your threshold is low, who even once) posts threads or replies that you consider toxic? Mute them. They will never show up in your Bungie.Net and/or Destiny App experience again. Build up a personal kill-list of toxicity and suddenly, the forums will seem much more to your liking. Also, enough mutes by enough members and the offender may find themselves invisible to all. These forums are a result of what we (as members) each do. Our posts are only one part of it. Our use of the tools we've been provided are another VERY important aspect of making this site into something that the community wants it to be.

3 RespuestasDeeJ, Cozmo and likely other Bungie staff seem to be more active in the Destiny subreddit.

12 RespuestasI feel like this post attacks free speech and OP should be gone.
what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
1 RespuestaTotally agree on the xurner posts. It is just sad that a lot of it is not satire.
-
1 RespuestaI've never seen a forum allow so many repeat posts. Some days the top twenty threads are all about the same nonsense.

The best way I see would be for everyone to report the true toxic members. It's OK to have different opinions and argue your pov but when its personal attacks and name calling it should be dealt with with extreme justice. That includes attacks on mods mentors and bungie staff. I saw a guy call a mentor retard yesterday. That's unacceptable. I think a total ban of the destiny app as a whole would be a good punishment. That means no viewing of stats by you or anybody else and no inventory management whatsoever. The app along with the forums are extras that bungie gives us free of charge and should be a privilege of members of our community not trash looking to cause problems. That might keep some active players from abusing the forum due to the fact you wouldn't be able for someone on lfg to see your history or be able to grab a wepon from the vault without going to the tower. Also there should be a rule that if you don't have a linked account you shouldn't be able to post on the forums except for a maybe a special board just for non destiny players who may have a question to ask. Just my opinion. Allot of us enjoy using these forums and they should be treated with respect along with all the bungie staff and volunteers.

1 RespuestaThat's why I go to the Destiny Reddit where mature people go instead of this salt sea

8 RespuestasThat is subjective, and also censorship. You like state run media too?

2 RespuestasI don't see why people care. I bought MOST of my Exotics. I bought them with strange coins I rolled when I did various activities (from more than a few blue engrams too), and if people are going to get stuffy about it I don't really care. "I ran the vault of glass 300 times before I got the Gjallahorn, I am better than you are!" "What about that guy who got it from the crucible and came in last on both teams? Is he better than you? Or is it maybe Random Number Generated loot that it was his time to have an exotic, and he rolled the Ghorn instead of a NLB?"

3 RespuestasThere is a mute button. Why are people afraid of the mute button? Just use the mute button. There is a report button. Just use the report button. If enough people report something as spam, or abuse it will likely be taken down. Ta da!

1 RespuestaAn open forum like this, of this size, will always be toxic. I suggest people find smaller forums and clans for constructive banter without all the bull.
-
13 RespuestasSaw a post saying they wanted people who xurned should be put on different servers than people who earned their weapons, I thought this was completely messed up, asking for any kind of separation is wrong.

2 RespuestasWell said OP.
