I get that you earn strange coins and that some exotics just won't drop for you. I'm missing the Hawkmoon and the Crux, but I'd never want Xur to sell such elusive items. It takes away their rarity and it becomes just another "exotic" that everyone has. With all the steps Taken King is taking to move forward, not doing something about Xur would be 50 steps back. This is very much a shoot and loot game, and having some of the most sought after items be easily obtained through a vendor does not create epic moments at all. I, for one, do not feel like I've "Become Legend" after [i] buying[/i] an [i] exotic[/i] weapon. I hope to see this changed; it needs to happen. Edit- With all this said, I understand why the current Xur is important to people. Since RNG is cruel, is nice to have a guaranteed way of getting that one item you want. I'm not bashing people who "Xurn" I'm just saying that I think there needs to be a better system in place Edit 2- I've taken out the part about losing value in exotics when Xur sells them bc you guys are right, what does it matter? There is no trading/barter system anyways. Also, for those of you calling me elitist, I'm not being elitist. I'm not being a special snow flake or whatever. However, since there is a limited number of exotics and a hell of a lot more players than said exotics, odds are you'll never be one of the only ones to have a piece of gear. Instead of people hating on Xur they should be capitalising on what ever he may be selling.

The only gun I've bought from xur was icebreaker. I go for my drops instead of buying from xur so I can get those drops.

Okay now that you changed the wording of your post I agree either you. Maybe xur could sell bountus to deal with certain exotic weapons and armor and you have to do them in order to get the gear. They should be made hard bounties also.

Since they are changing RNG to be less random there should be no reason for xur to sell exotics anymore. Getting drops is more exciting anyway.

I understand what you're saying, and it's cool to be the person with the rare stuff first, but Destiny is suppose to be about group play. There is a ton of team based activities and you should want your teammates to have the best guns available.

Out of all of the posts I've seen this past few days about Xur, this is about the only one with good reasoning and the only one that doesn't hate on people. I applaud you, sir. I shall not post a gif calling you a -blam!- today.

I don't think they mean exotic as in rarity or whatever. I think they mean exotics as in a power level with a special perk.

I feel the same way. I think he should just show up less frequently. Once or twice a month would be fine. When he sold Ice Breaker for the first time, it kinda broke the game. It's pointless to not use the gun in strikes. Before, it was right next to gjallarhorn, hawkawesome and SUROS as being extremely sought out and valued

I think the exotic armor economy is almost entirely dependent on Xûr. Your chances of getting something from Nightfall are 1% or less, an Engram 5% or less and Xûr about 8%(exact armor piece you're looking for.) From everything they have said, Bungie appears to be improving the RNG. I understand why they have Xûr, but I do think it's more rewarding an experience to get a drop from a boss or a quest. This also sounds like it's coming in TTK as well. Whenever I get frustrated with RNG, I take a break. We have to remember that Destiny is new for Bungie and they're learning as they go. Destiny has had its growing pains, but I'm glad I've been here from the beginning. They've said they're making improvements and Game Informer made it sound like the game is vastly improving, but they have to show us. These live streams are going to be very important. They also can't reveal too much. I'm excited.
