this game couldn't be more casual
its purposely designed for Casuals players to be able to log in here and there and the RNG has a chance to give them the best rewards in the game .
you can equip pvp faction items and do PVE content and still rank up and get rewards
you rank up with vanguard just playing the game and get rewards
you run any strike at any level and you get rewards
do bounties and you rank up and get rewards
come in last place in PVP ? usually get the Best Loot
can do all bounties on 1 character in 15 to 20 minutes
can do weekly bounties in 20 to 40 minutes depending on locations ( once a week)
can do weekly in 15 to 40 minutes ( once a week)
nightfall can do it in 15 to 40 minutes ( once a week )
can Crota normal or Hard raid in 30 to 40 minutes
can do VOG normal in 30 to 40 minutes
VOG hard is the only raid that will take a casual group an hour + to clear
POE 28,32,34,35 each can be cleared in 20 to 40 minutes .
the only truly difficult thing in the game is to get 3 people through ToO ..
the game has been out for a YEAR if you have not Done VOG Normal and Hard by now ? serious wtf? that's not an issue with the game . that's an issue of you choosing not to do the content ... Crota and POE has been out for Months and you still haven't cleared them all ? wtf ?
I have NEVER once used the APP and I have cleared Vog normal / hard ( in multiple groups ) and Crota Normal and Hard ( in multiple groups ) and POE 32/34/35 ( in multiple groups ) . Would an in-game LFG tool or Lobby help make it easier ? yes and i have been a very vocal supporter of it ,,,, but that has nothing to do with Casual players RULEZ everything, cater to us or your game = Failz dudez ,, it would be a nice easy to use feature , but it isn't a make or break feature.
and you want what ? the game to be even More casual ? the reason the game has Lost Millions of casuals is because there is nothing in the game to do , the Casuals already did all the content a few times and got bored and LEFT ... as they do in every Dumbed down Easy mode MMO type game ,,, because that's what Casual players do ,, they do everything and then they Leave ,,, Casual players are not Invested in games for the LONG haul .... some will buy TTK , beat all the content in a week and won't play destiny again till the next DLC or possibly never again . others wont ever play destiny again they are off to the next 10 games ,, that's what casuals do , they have no Loyalty or Passion for a game, they play, they get what they want out of the game and they trash it and move on . ( you yourself said you do not even do anything but run some multiplayer with your sons ,, you have gear Loot you aquired and do not even level it ,, what you want Bungie to come wear your gear and level it for you ??? ,,, the game is so easy and casual that you are BORED and you want it even EASIER ??? really ??? well the game is about to get alot more Puzzle oriented , and supposedly increase in difficulty in TTK ,,, so you might want to casually look for an Easier game like maybe Loadout on ps4 ,,, that';/s an easy shooter )
your confusing CORE players with Casuals ,,, or what Destiny would call Veteran Players ,, these are the passionate players that even though the game has many flaws they enjoy playing this game over any other game . they are not Hardcore Raiders as there is no Actual Raid game in Destiny ( 5-6 players is a Normal size "Group" in most MMO game and Group Dungeons in Real MMO games have between 8 to 15 bosses in Just 1 dungeon and there are usually 2 to 4 dungeons every 10 level range and 5 or more at Max level ) to call the 6 player "2" count them "TWO" in Destiny "Raids" is laughable at best ... can't get more Casual than having only TWO 6 player Group zones in "Group" game that has been out for year ... on top of that the Raid rewards over all are Underwhelming except for a couple things. they are CORE players --> solo, group, raid, pvp <--- CORE PLAYERS and they are here for the Long term not the Casuals ,the casuals could care less about you , me, destiny or anything except the next game to blast throughat light speed on the easiest mode setting available
lol Forbes, Paul Tassi , that guy is not reporter , he is Blog writer . he is the equivalent of raids in Destiny compared to Real Raids in Real MMO's ... I'm sure Destiny is Shaking in their shoes .
i personally am NOT buying TTK till i see PLAYER reviews,, but so far everything i have read ( and i have Read Alot of INFO ) the things that have stood out the Most to me are
" Public events in TTK wont be a a walk in the park anymore "
" the Taken king is here, he is pissed and he has brought an army imbued with some serious abilities "
" new and old strikes reworked to have Multiple possible mobs spawn locations, expect to see the Taken showing up at the Worse possible times in older strikes "
"Strike bosses with more unique and Varied abilities "
" the Largest Raid Yet in Destiny "
and many other Tidbits and Teasers that are all saying """Destiny is about to Finally be a little bit Challenging " and if it proves to be true i will buy TTK ,, as currently this game is a Cake walk and a Half .... I hope TTK is seriously a Huge Step up in Difficulty to make this game the Challenge it was meant to be ,, that would keep me interested and wanting to play for 10 years ,,,, because IF this game gets anymore Casual i personally do not see it doing more than limping on until Destiny 2 .
Casual players do NOT hold a game up CORE players do ,,, and CORE players can be Hardcore SOLO / Group or Raid Plyers,, they are all Here for the LONG haul .
if you want Casual , go play a Indy cell phone game,, i bought my PS4 to play Challenging Video games like Bloodborne and Battlefield and Dark Souls and Final Fantasy 7 , etc , etc , keep this dumb down casual shit on last gen ,, and bury it there , forever .
Hopefully the Dev's do not get sucked under the casual Buss that has run over ever MMO in the last 10 years since WOW was released ,,, anybody name me a Great challenging hard MMO that has come out in the last 8 years ? oh thats right all MMO's are Casual now nd they all fold and become Ghost towns in a year or less .... hummm casuals hold up games??? WRONG... they ruin games ...
Casuals are not and NEVER were the Answer, they are a Quick Payday today and GONE tomorrow,,, its the CORE players you need to keep happy and interested and have good, fun, and Challenging content to make em stay for the Long Haul ...
some will buy TTK , beat all the content in a week and won't play destiny again till the next DLC or possibly never again
I don't think bungie cares about the casuals buying the content then leaving, they already got their money. You're right about content being too easy, Skolas is the only hard boss in the game and he's not even that hard.

Editado por Krobolus: 8/13/2015 3:06:27 PMYes if Bungie is smart they care about their Core players, and not the Casuals ,, but Casual is a heavily used term anymore , Casual use to mean that they didn't play as much, but they also did not expect to get rewarded for the less time and effort they put into the games ,, . they enjoyed playing the games and getting the rewards they got when playing,,, the NEW casual term means " i Payed the same amount i want the same amount of Content, i want to feel like a god, i want the Best rewards and i only want to play an hour a day a couple days a week " <---- this type of casual ruins the game for all of the other play styles on top of them as now everything is so easy and simple everyone is bored , but the casuals leave after they get the rewards and the rest are left playing a wet turd in MMO's people would state " Hardcore raiders have no life " but in truth as a Hardcore raider at 2-3 hours a day 3 or 4 days a week I put in HALF or less the playtime as Core Solo or Core Group players I knew in the game ,, one girl use to do nothing but Harvest/craft and work on her house everyday for hours ,, my other friend was a great Tank but he refused to Raid, he hated it , but he Loved his Guild and he worked hard to buy a Large guild house and always helped his Guildies out and played Way more hours than i did ,, they would be Considered Casual players ,, but in truth they they both played way more hours than i did so in Fact we were all CORE players just at diffrent aspects of the Game ,, we did not all need Great house, we did not all need to be a Max level trade skiller, we did not all need to have a large guild house , we did not all need the best raid loot ,, we all played for the rewards and things we liked and did not feel we Deserved what the other had because we Payed to Play.. and that's the issue with alot of games these days , they develop them for the Ultra casual player , so everyone burns through the content in a day or a week and Everyone is bored ,, they use Metrics and flow charts and statistics and Pump out generic games and people eat it up, Hoping against hope that the next game they get will actually challenge them, that will actually have meat and potatoes in it and not be a mostly air filled bag of potato chips . and that is what most games these days are , a mostly air filled bag of potato chips = a whole lot of nothing with a little bit of content that everyone can consume easily and quickly , but then Everyone is just left with an empty bag, and the casual is already onto his 5th bag of chips and your sitting there sad with hundreds of other people all sad that the brand of chips you all bought went so quickly because you all really liked those chips and wanted to savor and revel in their deliciousness for a long time .

Editado por BunkerGATE13: 8/13/2015 12:59:40 PMI agree. Every single mechanic put into this game is geared towards leveling the playing field. That only means one thing. Casual. Guess what... every player is a casual gamer. I tell people at work that I casually game a little bit.. little do they know I'm on destiny for most of my time off. gaming is now main stream product. Deal with it or make it better yourself right?
-
Deal with it or make it better yourself? I don't like this McDouble, oh shit let me just buy my own franchise and make them myself. -blam!-ing idiot. Just because something is mainstream doesn't mean it has to be dumbed down.

You don't want pickles - so you have to ask. Gotta ask

the create your own difficulty in MMO's has been tauted for years now by casuals ,, "the game is To Easy ? play with no Armor on..( have done that and its no big deal , it is not a big challenge or a real challenge ) PVP in destiny , i use Legendary AR , i use Fusion, sniper or sidearm , and machine gun ...i do not use blink strike , nor do i use tracker grenades, never use shotguns in any PVP .... i have positive K/D ( barley ) but meh i should not have to so thoroughly gimp myself to mke the pvp challenging . Deal with it or make it better ,,,, OR ,,,, Developers can start making games more challenging,,, the WItcher 3 is adding in a +game mode because the players want "Challenge" the game already released with Blood and Bones ( Hard ) and Death March ( extreme ) and it still wasn't challenging enough ,,, ALOT of players re Bored of Easy, bored of Casual, they Want Depth, they want challenging NPC's and Monsters ,, they want to Earn their Victories ,, they want the Game to challenge them , they want to Rise to the challenge and when they finally do win they will feel like a champion or Hero ,,, not this Easymode where you re OP and decimate everything in your path ,, i can go outside and step on Ants but that wont make me feel like a Hero,, it will make me a Dickbag picking on something with no chance against me .. is there room in all games for Casual and Hardcore players ? sure there is ,,, games should be 20 % for casual, 20 % for Hardcore and 60% for CORE gamers ... ( depending on the game those can be slightly higher or lower ,, but at its Heart you want to Please the CORE gamers, and have enough Content to keep the hardcore playing with carrots always dangling ahead of the ,. and the casual enough to stay Interested = win/win/win strategy ) why did Old school MMO's keep a long term player base ? because they did not rush you to endgame, there was challenging content all levels and that meant the CORE players always had to content ahead of them until n expansion came out,,, and even the Hardest raid guids were still working on the hardest raid up until the next expansion came out,, the problem with games today is they Rush you through all the content in a week , you replay the same crap for a few weeks and your BORED ... Developers cannot create enough endgame content for everyone to have endless content ,,, point in fact "TTK" comes with a bonus item that lets every player have one character be high enough level to start doing TTK on release day <---- is there enough content in taken king to last 4 months until the next DLC comes out ??? i HIGHLEY DOUBT it ,,, they are shooting themselves in the foot with rushing poeople through the only content they have and then its back to Redoing the same strikes over and over and over again ,,,, they simply cannot create enough endgame content but they rush you through the content they do have = FAIL if it took 5 times as long to level in Vanilla Destiny most people would have just been hitting the level cap and starting to raid and doing the hardest strike when the first DLC dropped = WIN ,,, always content head of the Majority of the player base ,,, and thats how how you do it ...always have content ahead of the Mass majority (Your CORE Players ) really whats the RUSH ?? there is nowhere to RUSH to in the game, the faster you go the faster you run out of content ,, its a lose/lose situation... have a proper pace to leveling and content for the CORE and your game will last YEARS because there is always a Carrot dangling, always another turn just ahead, always something more to look forward to and strive for ..

I see the age and experience difference playing a large role in this too. Because the old timers need a crazy new challenge that builds upon the years of standard practice. And yet the new gamers need something easy to jump into. Games like ever quest offer slower pace at the beginning for noobs- but quickly progress into endgame the more you play. The game kind of trains you on it. Here.. they switch it up too often to get any kind of training going. And add to that the lack of private matches or a way for the people to open chat inside the game...and suddenly it all makes sense. It's just disappointing that this game will have to be around for 3 more years to become something like ever quest or wow. The pvp element doesn't have to get worse with pve either. They just have to choose the right kind of progress system. . Right now.. they have a giant bush of ideas with all kinds of loose twigs hanging off. They want us to go for that low hanging fruit first.. I get that.. But put it in then

Editado por Krobolus: 8/13/2015 2:29:02 PMHere is what I think about Destiny from release and the first 2 DLC's I completely believe that Activision thought the PVP was going to be the Bread and Butter of the Game,, from release and through the first 2 DLC they had Updates to PVP, they always talked about PVP , they had lot of Developer PVP events , and still do have DEV pvp events , and they balanced weapons for PVP ( unbalanced them actually but the balance changes were for PVP ) they largely ignored the PVE side with some minor tweaks all the way up to HOW and HOW had NO story and NO dinklebot ,, and they still kept PUSHing PVP in weekly update and Dev matches . The players were expecting this game to be a Heavily PVE focused FULL MMO type experience with PVP as a separate part of the game and with separate weapon balancing. and i Think that was what the Game was Originally suppose to be like BUT Activision believed the easy money was in PVP and i believe that's why the Lead developer left the game . I followed the gme from way before release and when they talked about Expansions like MMO's and Free content every month and Developer run events i was thinking PVE developer run events like old school MMO'[s use to have where a DEV took control of a large monster and hundreds of players would attack it and various rewards for participating i think TTK is getting the game back towards that original vision , with multi part quest lines , a full story with cinematic's , more voice acting, more flushing out of characters ,, Puzzles in Group zones,, harder more challenging content ,, more varied mobs with various tactics , harder bosses with multiple abilities,, etc etc ... i think Activision finally conceded that Destiny will not survive as a Primarily PVP focused game, it needs to be a primarily PVE focused game for the Long term success
