for everyone who wants the hopscotch pilgrim
the spare change .25 pulse rifle has the same stats as hopscotch (rate of fire and impact wise) and it's much easier to obtain. it's a crucible weapon. play crucible for an hour or two everyday for a week and I'd bet you'd have it. it's a common drop.
For anyone who doesn't know what it is or why people want it, it has a very high impact and can allow for a 2 burst kill in crucible. It has the same impact as the messenger pulse rifle from going flawless in trials. Just do crucible, the grind is much faster, no matter if you suck or not.
I have a pulse rifle from vanilla destiny, Super Pox Vlo, that has the same impact and it's awesome. I think it's on my hunter.
*edit: if you want a better stability on Spare Change, just reroll it at gunsmith until you get a stability perk. it'll take a few to get good perks and that but it'll take like maybe 10 minutes at the most.
*edit2: why y'all so insistent the SP is the worst gun?? damn I'm just tryna help out the people who want a high impact pulse rifle. obviously they're two different guns?
tl;dr Spare Change .25 pulse rifle drops from crucible, just as good. Much easier grind.

Sparechange kicks up and to the left. So not as good as hopscotch at med to long range. Which is where pulse rifles shine.

1 RespuestaI've maxed out both and I think HP is better solely because you can use Hidden Hand and have max stability which means the gun doesn't move at all when fired. This means you only need to roll 2/3 perks to maximise its potential. The only thing with SC.25 is that it has top left recoil which throws your aim off. You really need Rodeo to offset that to make it vertical but even then there's still some recoil so HH isn't as optimum. Headseeker works well with it though (better than on HP) but then you need to roll 3/3 perks otherwise the recoil is too much. It's a good gun and less of a grind, but IMO HP edges it.

I like my hopscotch because it's got a bigger mag then the spare change but yeah aside from that pretty close the same stats

5 RespuestasThis is bad information you are pedaling here. The stats on hopscotch are the same as spare change, that much is true.how ever hopscotch has more rounds in the mag, and it's recoil pattern is far more manageable then spare change. Spare change isn't even the ugly little sister of hopscotch (see the messenger) Spare change has a recoil pattern that goes up and curves grossly to the left. Meaning if your aiming at the enemies right shoulder youll probably land all three rounds in the burst. This means if your aiming at the head you'll undoubtedly bounce of the crit spot by the time the third round is fired unless you compensate for it recoil every shot. Hopscotch fires all three rounds in a very tight pattern, this makes head shots a breeze, landing all head shots will result in a two burst kill. Now throw in reactive reload and outlaw or feeding frenzy with a stability perk and you have a laser with insanely fast reload capabilities that also two burst kills to the body and can kill with 4 rounds to the head. The spare change can not do that. The spare change doesn't hold a candle to hopscotch or the messenger for that matter.

15 RespuestasEven with max stability it still has a strong left side pull. Which is why people don't use it. Planet destiny did a good review on hopscotch compared to other similar pulse rifles rate of fire and impact wise.

Stability is good, but not great; counterbalance is basically required because without it, the hard leftward recoil is unmanageable*. I used it to good effect in Iron Banner, though I prefer AllFATE (I have two, one with max stability, and one with [i]nearly[/i] max stability -- they are lasers, although they're three-bursters). I think, based on my experience, if you can't get Hopscotch, Spare Change might hold you for a little bit. But you need to focus on compensating for the gun's problems, rather than accentuating its positives (like impact). I just wish I knew if the AllFATE fell in the "medium ROF" pulse rifle bracket, which will be getting nerfed. Not sure how viable it will be after that. * At least to me.

I haven't tried it out yet, but I don't have Hopscotch and I feel that my 55A-allFATE is better than Spare change anyway. Went flawless with my allFATE and Patience and Time on Saturday. First time going to mercury without Thorn or Hawkmoon, so this gun will be hard to upstage. It's on my hunter if you want to have a look.

Not really. Can't get as good stability and you pretty much have to get counter balance on it to change recoil pattern. It's a decent gun but no where as good as hopscotch and messenger can be

Stats are not limited to rof and impact just saying planet destiny covers this gun well if you wanna see a full depth review :)
