I've been on Live all day on Xbox one. At most the friends app will be unavailable, but I haven't had an issue signing in in a few months.

XBL sure goes down a lot. Aside from one or two times, I've never had problems with PSN on my PS4 unless I've misconfigured my router or network settings.
