Lag in the Destiny application is a direct result of player connections to their routers. If you use a wireless connection to your router YOU will destroy the lobby. Players are not cheating and it is not the servers; it's the hardware people! Over and again players complain of enemies regenerating health in PVE and dismiss it as Bungie installing a hot fix or a glitch in the software. Players can test this: make a party with two of your friends one using a wi/fi connection the other using a LAN cable (local access network) often called an Ethernet cable. Go into Prison of Elders; do not run out! Sit there and watch your signal strength. The person with wifi connection to their router will fluctuate from red to full green. This will affect the Ethernet cable user as well. Then log out; reconnect your Ethernet cable and restart the PS4 both players can go to the prison and watch the signal stay strong. DSL users will effect the parties the most! This is most notable in final boss battles in POE (prison of elders). Iron Banner has such a horrible connection because players use wifi connections to their routers. I have spent hours testing and retesting this with friends who have high quality internet service! The service never lags unless someone in the party is connected using wifi on the PS4...The wifi cards in the early model PS4's are trash enough said.

Your so right bro. Like Everytime I invite a red bar to my team they always do good and my bullets are marshmallows. People think I'm a dick but I'm glad I'm not the only one who's realized this. People need to fix their shit!!

2 RespuestasA strong wireless router will not cause issues, a shitty wireless router with poor through put will. Often people are using outdated routers that can't transmit data at appropriate levels. I use a wireless connection, and I don't ever red bar. A shitty wired connection is just as bad as a shitty wireless router. Secondly... a LAN cable often called an ethernet cable? LAN cable is not the name... it's a type of network. A LAN is local area network... meaning local, as in limited to the building. Internet access can be present or not. A LAN can also be wireless. The LAN refers to the ability to transmit data within the network with out using the internet. Hence back in the day when people had LAN parties. You can have a LAN party with a wireless router (no cables required). The most common name for your "LAN" cable is actually ethernet cable, or is just referred to by the type it is i.e. CAT 5, CAT 5e, CAT 6, etc. Also, your solution, no matter how much you think you've play tested it is wrong. It just means you are testing your theory with inferior equipment.

1 RespuestaOnly if you have a shitty router/playstation. Xbox one with gaming router... WiFi and great connections all the time.

Editado por B: 7/29/2015 5:12:41 PMI'm connected directly to the modem (or gateway or whatever att calls it) and often get a red connection

So if I use an early model ps4, a wireless connection, but my router and all my internet bullshit is less than 10 feet away from my ps4 and I always have 100% signal strength, am I the problem?
-
So im lost when it comes to this stuff but lets say my xbox is far away from my modem. I do not have a router i believe it is an all in one modem from att. If i buy a router can i connect that to my modem and it will make my wifi better?
-
3 RespuestasIf your setup is nowhere near the router,I highly recommend looking into one of these http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PA4010KIT-Powerline-Adapter-Starter/dp/B00AWRUICG/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1438183184&sr=1-6 Easy to configure, easy to use, does the same thing as LAN w/o running a cable Youre welcome

Here's another idea! Unplug your potato and buy a router

2 RespuestasFirst i played without LAN cable and i just saw lags and stuff all the time. Then I changed to LAN cable. Nice no lags pretty good with LAN cable:)
-
2 RespuestasI stopped connecting my Playstation via wi-fi when playing Borderlands. I used to get problems where loot wouldn't show on my screen. Enemies would die and nothing would drop. We'd open chests and they'd be empty for me but my buddy would be picking up guns and ammo left and right. I'd restart and things would be fine for a bit and then the same problem would happen again. Then I finally got a LAN cable long enough to reach my router and these problems disappeared. That was back in the PS3 days and I've not even bothered trying my PS4 on wireless. I'll never go wireless again.

If ur using a wireless connection to game u are a scrub. Nuff said.
-
I first played with WiFi, then switched to Ethernet. This is completely true.
-
1 RespuestaHere in Australia that is absolutely true. WiFi is just not strong enough because our connections in general are pretty shitty. I don't know about you guys in the u.s. but I would think that using WiFi in some areas would be fine as long as a ton of data isn't being leached at the same time?
-
I like to call it 'the natural lag switch'
-
If your connection is fluctuating purely because you're on wifi, you need a better modem or router. Mine does it because Australia.
-
3 RespuestasI use wireless always green baby
-
I'm using an ethernet cable to my router and the connection is always red. Probably because I'm in Australia.
-
But my lan cable doesn't make me play with out lag and disconnecting.
-
LAN stands for local area network. Not local access network. You fail guardian

7 RespuestasDon't understand why you bring this up?!?! its not like about 40%/50% are all PVP players are cheating with their lag switches constantly ! I get it now so in trials when they are running around getting hammered by my team and just hang around the capture point taking no damage that them just getting ready to go to Ethernet mode, they are not cheating?!?! Please don't take this as me having a dig I just don't want you to be deluded into thinking people accidentally have bad connection watch the same players behaviour in a game or the score they are on (usually top) these people are cheating if they are at the bottom with no kills they have bad connection. This whole thing is ruining Destiny and really wish they would correct it.

2 RespuestasDoesn't explain why normal crucible barely lags for me but iron banner and trials has terrible amounts.

11 RespuestasI use wifi connection :( I would rather use LAN like I did the rest of my life, but there's no way to get a cable from the router to my Xbox without it crossing across the walkway... Would've been OK 5 months ago but our little baby loves chewing on cords now... Def wouldn't fly. Eventually I'll drill a hole in the floor and run a cable down and back up... But that isn't gonna be soon. I did upgrade our internet speeds... But doesn't sound like that will help. Sucks.

6 RespuestasEditado por Maniac Survivor: 7/29/2015 1:33:16 PMThis is all bullshit. Wi/Fi has nothing to do with it. - your friendly it-network engineer Edit: was wife instead of wi/fi, lol.

4 RespuestasIs the LAN cable usually a white one with circular exits and has a needle in the middle?
