WHAT BS! Anyone can be a Year 1 player, but DAY 1 Players SHOULD BE HONORED & YOU'RE NOT DOING THAT.
As with many players who bought Destiny the day it came out, and who have continued too play until now, where are OUR SPECIAL Rewards??
THOSE are the players WHO DESERVE THE SPECIAL REWARDS! And NOT anyone who buys both DLC buy August 15th, or whatever the date is. As you even stated, anyone that buys BOTH DLC's by August will be considered a YEAR 1 player. So they get rewarded for buying the game 10 MONTHS after it's release date.
How about rewarding ALL of us Guardians who have been playing since the day DESTINY was released?
Where are OUR special rewards?
Some of us have invested over 2000 HOURS(!) into Destiny. And some have played almost twice that much.
Rewarding players who FINALLY buy the DLC'S after all this time is one thing, but NOT REWARDING US DIE-HARD'S WHO CREATED THEIR CHARACTERS THE DAY OF RELEASE, WHO STILL PLAY FOR HOURS ON END, EVERY DAY, DESERVE SPECIAL RECOGNITION, AND KICK-AS REWARDS THAT NO ONE ELSE SHOULD GET!!
YOU ARE NOT DOING THAT, AND THAT IS BS.

No day one players should not be rewarded you chose to buy the game day one but it should have been players in the first month or something

Playing Destiny is not charity work. You have not cured a disease, you haven't rescued an animal, you haven't even helped a little old lady across the street. Why the $#@! should Bungie give you anything at all? You want to be "recognized" for your thousands of hours? Fine: I recognize that you probably have a Vitamin D deficiency...
