Is Trials of Orisis fair? I don't think so and here's why.
Trials of Orisis is supposed to be a culmination of players being able to do well in pvp. That was the original concept. It got turned into an MLG spectacle of corrupt players manhandling everyone else because they got buffs from Activison while everyone else who wants to do the trials gets 0-3. I do not think there is any solution other than removing the trials until a later date and to make sure that you can only use non-exotic armor and non-exotic weapons. Also, there are alot of cheaters and lag switchers making sure that 9-0 is always there for them and to get into the lighthouse. Here's the real solution that will make trials fair for everyone once it comes back.
1)make sure everyone who has done the trials goes to the lighthouse.
2)force matchups to be based on the level of the characters the players is using.
3)you cannot try again for the week ONCE YOU RECEIVE PRIZES FROM THE TRIALS
4)If you are caught cheating, you will be IP banned from Destiny, all of your gear on your characters and vaults will be deleted permanently.
5)If you try to create a 4th character to do Trials within the same week, you can't do it.
6)make the fireteam 1-6 instead of 3 players only.

1 RespuestaI have zero problem as to how Trials is set up. I really don't care that everyone uses thorn. It's a game mode that you bring your best gear and plan to get sweaty. My personal issue with the game mode is matchmaking. The first week of trials my friends and I got 2 perfect runs in. Ever since then, we can barely scrape together 5 win cards. I am an average player but my 2 friends are in the top 10% of KD and crucible wins. After week 2 we started to try and figure out why our connection seemed to become absolutely horrible when playing trials. When we lost a match we would ask the team that we lost to where they were from and we were surprised to find out that all the teams we ended up losing to were either in Eastern Europe, Australia or Japan. So we started asking every team that we matched up against their location. 90% off the matches won were against North American based opponents and all of our losses for 4 weeks were against Eastern Europe, Australia or Japan. We all live in Hawaii and I find it pretty ridiculous that we consistently get matched against people so far outside of our region. As bungie said, trials would be based on best connection matchmaking, but I call bullshit on that. We over half of our trials games are against red bar opponents and that pretty much equals a loss. I just don't understand how bungie thinks that this acceptable. I apologize for the wall of text, but it's pretty irritating.

7 RespuestasFirst off, The lighthouse should be earned not given. Second, Before you complain about trials being unfair and mlg, you should get better at pvp. The only people complaining abiut the fairness about trials are the people that cant get flawless because they suck. BUT..... i can relate to what you are saying in a way. I once was horrible at.pvp but with practice and many cruicible games i got better and anyone can too. And i also agree about the permanent ban thing with cheaters.

It's implied you should be going in 33-34 with at least one or two maxed weapons. If you go in unprepared the game shouldn't hold your hand. 3) Discourages the majority of the population from even attempting the playlist as the ultimate rewards become even further out of reach. Terrible decision. 4) Extreme and unnecessary 5) If someone has an obsessive need to waste time to do this, by all means it's their right. 6) It's 3v3. Tighter coordination and communication. Fireteam should not be greater than 3.

the amount of times I see people using low level armor just so that they can try and be paired against other lower levels.. then put their armor back up to 34 when it hasn't worked. Practically all the time. This would happen all the time if you based it on level matchmaking. 6v6 would be worse with lag. It's bad enough having laggy players in 3v3 never mind 6v6. Look at iron banner for example. Cheaters should be banned I agree. I don't think they should be locked out of the game though. Maybe a 2 week ban from matchmaking would do. And if they continue to do it then maybe see about locking them out of all match making. Bare in mind not everybody is lag switching but instead they have really bad internet. Not every area in the world has superfibre optic broadband and they have to make do with standard copper broadband. It isn't fair for those who do have that good connection, I know. But that's just how it is.

2 RespuestasI went 0 and 4 in my first trials run....haven't been back since. Because I need to be better. That's why I'm playing more PvP to try and achieve my goal. I don't feel I should go to the lighthouse because I haven't earned it yet. If I never do, so be it. It took me up to one week before HoW to do iron banner and be able to play well(enough), I can wait for trials. I understand frustration, but I don't think it's unfair.

I agree on the non exotic part, but the rest is ridiculous. Who the hell would delete and re-level a character just to pop the chest again. It's not worth it. Although it would be cool to have a 6v6 elimination, trials is a demonstration of teamwork and skill which is best proved in a 3v3. Banning cheaters of course is a good thing but an account ban is good enough

Everyone just wants everything given to them with little to no effort put forth. Get better at PVP, problem solved.
