What rank is Oryx
I think that in order to understand the potential consequences of killing Oryx we first have to decide what his ranks in the Hive. So what is he a god a king. Just how important is Oryx in the grand scheme of things.
Edit: Well as ORIX is lore wise dead i gets it donuts mater what he was to the hive. its time to dig them out of luna and get ready for whatever we pissed of or annoyed for killing him. by the way what was Oryx's boss The Worm his sisters, space dragons!? guess ill have to start a new pole soon.

He's the most powerful member of the Hive species we've seen so far. But his sisters Savathun and Xivu Arath might be of comparable or greater power. The Worm Gods are above those 3 but they're Ahamkara, not Hive.

Depends what you mean by "a god." He isn't a god in the sense of, for example, the abrahamic faiths. he is not immortal, omniscient, omnipotent, or atemporal. He is however a god in the sense of the Ancient Greek gods. He is extremely powerful individual who could wield magic, is timeless, but is not truly immortal. He is also fallible. He is worshiped as a god by the hive, but he answers to the deep and his own worm.

11 RespuestasThere are 5 major hive gods Eir Ur Xol Yul Oryx These gods were briefly mentioned in the last hive grimoire card as the most mention symbols from the shirne of oryx. As we have seen brief glimpses of princes of each of these, for example, during the sword of crota mission you kill one prince per god (i believe) these princes may have just been diplomats to crota on the moon. We dont know which is the most powerful (if one even is) but if your looking for power, all of the hive we see are decedents of oryx, and we killed crota, who was the [i]youngest and least powerful[/i] of oryx's children. So theoretically oryx could also be the least powerful of the hive gods. And on top of that, there is no way we are killing the king of the hive gods year one.

I'm pretty sure oryx has two siblings and one of the others are considered the strong one whereas he is the curious one. Just what I read

One way to look at it is that oryx is zeus. The king, and strongest god. But even zeus is pretty much nothing to his precursors, the king of the titans and the giants before him. Except this isnt greek mythology and the gods didnt screw over the titans, they are working for them. The titans being the worms.

I think he is the ultimate ruler of the hive, but he does not control the power they worship, i.e. the power that creates the taken. Rather he is a channel for it and that makes him appear to be a god.

21 RespuestasOryx is a god, but he isn't the most powerful. We know four of the five gods that stand beyond him, Eir Yul Xol and Ur, there's a fifth but we don't know it's name. I believe it's Nyx, the name of the Darkness itself.
