One of the primary complaints I have (and read about on the forums) is that Guardians want a way to guarantee that they'll get Treasure Keys. Another complaint I have (and similarly often read about) is that Tokens of Flight, Identity, and Judgment will soon be (or already are) worthless.
I'm proposing a solution that would kill these two birds with one stone: Allow Guardians to trade Tokens with Variks for Treasure Keys.
I understand that Treasure Keys are inherently much more valuable than Tokens, so a 1:1 trade system wouldn't work. However, trading one of each Token in for one Treasure Key (3:1) would strike a nice balance. It provides long-term viability for Tokens (it won't take long to acquire all ships, class items, and shaders, thereby quickly making them obsolete). It also reduces the amount of time spent sitting on that roof in Skywatch. Also, Bungie coded something similar with The Speaker, which indicates their willingness to do a materials exchange.
I'm a big fan of HoW, and I think this exchange would remedy two of my (very few) complaints. DeeJ, please get the Dev Team on this asap!! This thread is expounding on Wazum's idea.
Edit: Rathamar had a great idea: Turning Tokens in for Motes of Light. Maybe you'd receive five Motes for each Token you turned in?

How about they just take the 3 coin system out and make it 1 prison coin instead. Then add the key to Variks to be bought. They could make you earn your way up to level 4 with him to be able to even buy 1 and make them a little expensive, like 25 coins. Character piece = 5 coins and level 1 Ship = 10 coins level 2 Shader = 15 coins level 3 Key = 25 coins level 4 This way your coins will only take 1 spot in what is already a tight vault for most of us. And if you grind long enough you will be able to guarantee yourself a key for your troubles. Please note. I'm not saying take it out of the drop table for regular farming. It would just give you a goal to work towards and that almighty feeling of "thank god finally".

6 RespuestasEditado por DharmaJunkie: 5/28/2015 5:47:31 PMCan't agree. You're just asking for easier access to content that at this point is end game. Before dark below we had to farm materials, then children QQ'd about how 'hard' and time consuming it was, so Bungie fixed it. Then PvP QQ'rs all but destroyed PvP by getting everything nerfed, except thorn which was the only real OP there was. Now you're advocating for easy access to the newest end game content? How about just ask bungie; Give me god mode and all maxed out exotics with maxed gears for all disciplines on all toons, that can reach level 34 in 1 hit. Why do people keep requesting fixes to the grind? Are people that f&"%ing lazy? I'd hate to see y'all in a real MMO. Lol
While you guys are QQing, I'm farming what would have been your treasure key drops. So please stay on the forums. ;)
1 Respuestahttps://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/125116808/0/0 One of my points I made here. Tokens are pointless and need a function. They fly in the face of everything bungie claimed they were focusing on in revamping the currency.

1 RespuestaWould you be opposed to a guaranteed key drop that's on a weekly reset? It keeps the grind if you wanted more keys, however you get to look forward to your one "free" key a week. It could be more than 1 key. Maybe two keys like the story missions gave you. Just a thought. I have yet to find a treasure key in the chests myself so I do know first hand how annoying it can be not to have them. I would advocate an exchange for keys but would want the ratio higher, 5:1 or more. Just to keep it from people always having a bunch of keys. They should still be rare, but not too rare if that makes any sense.

5 RespuestasI like the xur idea that someone mentioned. The keys don't guarantee an exotic but gives you at least a weapon. The key thing I'm still unsure on how I feel about it. I need to rely on RNG to get a key so I have the opportunity to rely on RNG again for something good? Looking at it that way it's kind of ridiculous.

8 RespuestasPeople complained about having to wait a week for more loot Now your complaint that you Don't want to farm to get key (it's more than you'll get from VoG or crota even if it's just 2 keys) If they add key exchanges people will complain that they earned their keys, etc. Loot is supposed to be hard to get... HARD... TO... GET... Although I do believe the loot for 35 POE should be changed its still more loot with 2 keys than what you'll get from crota or vog

1 RespuestaPack your bags your going to work for bungie!

2 Respuestas5 motes for one key? Well then i would have a use for the +500 motes i currently have! xD
-
1 RespuestaAtm all there doing is sitting in my Vault because I don't have the right level to even Use them at the proper vendor... Why is getting those tokens easier then a Treasure Key? It should be the other way around.
-
1 RespuestaBungie needs to give us a way to discard consumables how hard is that?
-
3 RespuestasThe crap we get for keys 90% of the time is shit. If your going to give us loads of shit at least give us more keys in return.
-
Honestly idfk. I farmed up 3 keys before HoW release, but just finally got to try PoE yesterday and I'm already bored of it. You're telling me that to get the good rewards from PoE I have to go and farm those patrol missions even more? Really not a fan of this system.

4 RespuestasStep 1 got to skywatch Step 2 sit down on roof Step 3 troll forums Step 4 do pack of wolves event Step 5 repeat Alternative to step 3. If you use a head set leave it on but watch some cable. You should be able to hear the drop ship when event starts. Just change back to game and do event then go back to cable

2 RespuestasI've been playin lvl 28 PoE for about 3 hours the past two nights and I got a key both days from the small chests. one i used right there on the spot and the other i did another run and used it.

Yeah, they definitely have some kinks to work out with these new elements to the game's economy and any sort of exchange rate would be an improvement. They should've known better about implementing this considering how they've adjusted every other aspect of materials in the game. I commend them for listening to the community and making improvements, but I'm kind of surprised they didn't have the foresight to realize this would be an issue before it was released into the wild.

2 Respuestasalso if they had xur sell themfor 5-10 coins per that would be awesome
