The off-the-shelf Efrideet's Spear that Lord Saladin has right now is PERFECT for PvE... it's absolutely worth having.
For PvP, a dream rolled Spear has:
•Ambush Scope
•Unflinching
•Armor Piercing (even better if AP and Perfect Balance are in the same perk column)
•Final Round
Timur's Lash is nice... it's another HIGH Impact two headshot kill Hand Cannon... but the Grind to Rank 5 may not be worth your time if you already have a few favorites.
Both of them will drop as RnG after reaching Rank 3 in the next Iron Banner... but I would buy at least one Spear, as is, now.

Well i must be lucky then, because I rolled the exact one Salad has, except I got Field Scout as well. Still wish I had gotten arc though...
-
They don't drop after rank 3. The jolders hammer and silimars wrath do since they were sold last man.

Editado por UberLord Parker: 4/30/2015 1:30:04 PMI beg to differ... It's PERFECT for PvE just as it is... hear me out real quick: Surplus makes the ammo drops a little better... couple that with a Sniper Ammo perk piece of Armor (add in a Special Synthesis, an Icebreaker switch, and/or a Shoot2Loot primary) and you're GOLDEN on ammo. For PvE you don't need Field Scout... You'll get more out of Armor Piercing Majors, Ultras, and Bosses THROUGH cover than having more reserve. Being able to switch to High Caliber Rounds for Stun Locking or Perfect Balance for long range open targets is just GRAVY.
-
And you have valid points. I just don't think I would use AP more than Field scout. But of course, that's me.
-
In PVE though, if you are sniping, you arent typically near where the ammo is dropping. Id much rather have a larger magazine and more rounds in reserve for PVE than armor piercing rounds.

Editado por UberLord Parker: 4/30/2015 4:32:21 PMThe one Saladin has is GREAT for PvE... with that roll, you really don't need Field Scout in PvE: •Surplus makes the ammo drops better •Sniper Ammo perk Armor boosts your reserve •Use (or switch to) a Shoot2Loot Primary •Switch to Icebreaker or Invective and regenerate ammo... switch back •If all else fails... pop a Special Ammo Synthesis You should NEVER be hurting for ammo with that one (maybe in the Crucible... but we're talking PvE). Armor Piercing a Major, Ultra, or Boss through cover is an AWESOME perk for PvE... The fact that you can switch that one to Perfect Balance (for long range, open ground targets) OR High Caliber Rounds for Stun-Locking bosses is just GRAVY... and it has Firefly to boot ;)
-
This here is the problem with all of this: •Use (or switch to) a Shoot2Loot Primary No, because why would i waste my primary weapon using one with shoot to loot, and why would i waste my time switching to a weapon that is inevitably wasting space in my inventory that has shoot to loot? If you like taking PVE slow, then yes, i agree with you that this is a great roll for PVE. However, i enjoy getting through PVE as fast as possible, because it is boring and repetitive. That means id rather have more ammo to start to clear out an area, then pick up the ammo after everthing is dead. I don't want to waste time going to my inventory, waiting for it to load, switching to my shoot to loot weapon, grabbing the ammo, going to my inventory, waiting for it to load, switching to my normal primary, using a synth. In that same time period with a weapon with field scout, the entire area is already cleared. No need to waste time.
-
Not arguing with you... your points are valid; however, if you solo the Nightfalls (like I do) then you take your time.
you don's suffer an ammo penalty for switching to a Shoot2Loot primary... it's nice to have one in your inventory/vault
-
I don't get why people solo nightfalls. seems like a waste of time. And regardless, you soloing nightfall is not enough of a reason to say this roll is fantastic for PVE. No, its fantastic for people who solo things and people who like to go at a snails pace through strikes. It would be a terrible sniper for raid bosses. Wasting time reloading during templar and atheon. Strikes in general would be a pain, having to constantly reload and switch weapons just to have ammo. I just htink you should change your view that its "Great for PVE", because its not, its great for a few select people who decide to solo PVE and take as long as possible to complete things.
-
LOL... Dude... you're just an asshat. Plain and simple. MUTE... Ahhh, that's better
-
Good! don't have to listen to your drivel anymore either!
-
Mine rolled spray and play, ambush scope, final round and armor piercing ;) on my hunter.
-
Unflinching is beast but I did roll one with Rodeo and Perfect Balance instead... Thing stays dead still when firing.
-
My very first roll I got all those perks and arc damage lol. It's on my hunter atm.
-
That's impressive
-
I was thinking of grabbing another and trying to roll rodeo and perfect balance with something like final round/outlaw or firefly as the last perks.
-
What can drop in this Iron Banner randomly?
-
Editado por UberLord Parker: 4/30/2015 11:36:26 AMJolder's Hammer and Silimar's Wrath for THIS Iron Banner... It's always the weapons sold in the last Iron Banner (with random perks of course). EDIT: The Legendary IB drops usually don't start until Rank 3.
-
How rare are those drops?
-
I got both back to back with pretty decent rolls last night, and a couple games later seen another get Silimars. I was bottom on the charts with less than .5 k/d both times. Buddy I was playing with raged hard.
-
I'm just curious cause I got a fat grind ahead of me warlock almost lvl 4 titan here I come
-
I usually get at least one of each (plus a ship or two) if I play one character to Rank 5... or two or more characters to Rank 4.
-
Engrams rare and legendary, legendary ships, IB weapons. All of them are available for drop.
-
Nay, only the weapons sold by Saladin last Iron Banner have a chance to drop
