It appears that with every passing update bungie has begun strangling the life out of their own game. The "balancing" they do time and time again consistently narrows the amount of viable play styles, pigeonholing players into playing the game how they see fit by making playing any other way extremely punishing. People enjoy variety and freedom of choice, removing those things makes playing destiny a lesser experience and not a greater one.
i highly doubt many people would say that they feel that they have more freedom of choice now than they did at launch. i sure don't feel that way, and the more constricting a game becomes to play the less i have a desire to sit down and play it.
One major problem i see here is that the least loyal and dedicated section of the player base is having the greatest influence on how bungie is shaping the game. "Casuals" as the community calls them are always pandered to by bungie over the more hardcore players. Any player worth their salt knows, or i should say knew, when and where heavy ammo spawns would be coming just by looking at the match timer, and now there are giant impossible to miss indicators cluttering the screen so that people who never cared enough to simply pay attention while playing never miss out.
The same group of people who never spent enough time to learn how to counter a guy who desired to shotgun/ snipe/ fusion the whole match are given their way via making it near impossible for their opponents to continue to do so. Not that the avid special weapons users were exactly gods of the crucible because most of the time they weren't. the player who could do it all, run primary, special, master grenades and supers would always be better than the guy who exclusively ran shotgun, but the guy who only shot guns or only snipes gets the shit end of the stick because hes still better than the casual who can learn to counter.
When a casual gets killed by a good player who uses every weapon at their disposal in a match and kills him 10 times in a row it draws less complaint than when the casual gets killed by an average player who kills him 10 times in a row with a shotgun.
these people who lose then come to the forums and complain causing bungie to take note of a non exisitant problem and make changes to the game for the benefit of people unlikely to stick around destiny for the long haul, and the the dedicated players are left holding the broken bag for the long term.
This alienates and disenfranchises your most loyal section of customers and that is not a smart move. When it was announced that HOW would not have a raid included the forums lit up with rage more so than on any other topic, the active dedicated players came forth and voiced their discontent and the community manager failed to even address this large concern whatsoever in his weekly update. this again shows who is really being listened to here. Being a player who enjoys raids i was not happy to hear of the raid being cut, however i understand it because a new activity is being introduced bringing the much needed VARIETY to a section of the game at least.
Im not saying undo the updates that have shaped the game thus far, i am only saying that the tone of updates in the future need to allow for more freedom of choice for the player and not less. dont pigeonhole your dedicated fans into playstyles they dont want to appease the fans that arnt going to stick around.

2 RespuestasThe best balancing would be that every primary exotic or at 3/4 are a viable option for crucible. Not being killed by the same gun more then 3 times a game would be a amazing breath of fresh air.

2 RespuestasIt's funny because this last DLC trailer hit 1m views instantly, and Cotas Trailer still hasn't reached it.

1 RespuestaThe last update seems to have nerfed drop strikes in the roc playlist. I have run them pretty much all day and didn't see a single legendary or ship for anyone in the team. It wasn't like this before.

This is 100% true and I actually read it all. I've only been playing since around the beginning of February but I've logged in 400-500 hours. I used to love crucible but then came the fusion rifle/auto rifle nerf. Everything I saw as fine in crucible and I enjoyed pvp much better than cod. Now it's become a task to play pvp, especially with all the thorns and TLW just being sold.

1 RespuestaI'm also a raid fanatic and was a little disappointed at the fact there's not going to be a raid. But I'll still have to try the arena before I knock it down.

I'm just tired of the guns being nerfed one day then bumped the next. You can't find any gun you like because it changes so fast.

I'm still enjoying the game a lot... can't wait until HoW!
