An Open Letter to DeeJ About the Nightfall
Dear DeeJ,
My friends and I enjoy Destiny, and most of the time, it appears to both be fun and frustrating. The Nightfall is the only thing that I want to talk about, and I understand that getting this letter to the BUNGIE team may be close to impossible since you mostly act as only BUNGIE’s PR supervisor, which I understandably consider to be a busy job.
I recently did a poll of over 400 Nightfall players, and it appears that out of all the things that the RNG gives, over 26% of the rewards are mainly Ascendant Materials, which are both the highest and the most disliked reward that players are given after they have completed the Nightfall. Since a lot of our real life time was considered wasted getting something that we could have gotten easily in a Raid or a public event, most of my friends have started to quit playing Destiny and have decided to comeback as soon as the next DLC arrives.
I am not asking for you to increase our odds of getting other items. I am only asking whether you could convince the BUNGIE team who work on the weekly updates to completely rid the Nightfall’s RNG of Ascendant Materials. If you have read this letter, thank you for considering this feedback for Destiny in advance.

All Raid gear should all use the same materials, so if they switched the VOG, and POE to distribute radiant materials, that would be fine. Would make all raids relevant, ascendant materials from nightfall would be less of an "ugh" reward. Would also make raids not absolutely necessary to hit max.

1 RespuestaYeah, unless an exotic drops or you get strange coins, nightfall rewards are pretty sucky overall. Max light level of gear drops is 33, so that is worthless. Legendary weapon drops from it are almost always useless garbage, and ascendant shards/energy are totally worthless. I will say this, though, my Ghorn dropped from nightfall, so it's not a complete waste. Also, you get the radiant light XP boost and that helps leveling new gear/weapons. Lastly, there is a rumor that we will be going back to ascendants for upgrade materials when HOW drops. If that is true, then all of our bazillions of banked ascendants will come in very handy.

7 RespuestasI dont understand these posts.... The game has been out since sept... How do people not have all the weapons yet? I much rather get materials than weapons that i have to dismantle into materials anyways... I dont get it

1 RespuestaIn this situation I would say remove ascendant shards. Keep the energy because there are always weapons that need to be leveled. It wouldn't have been so bad it they didn't introduce radiant material. That is what made ascendant less useful. But if they are changing back to ascendant it won't as bad a it is now. Since ascendant will be used to level the raid items.

1 RespuestaI'm not really sure why we get ascendant materials as rewards. It's basically the game saying: "Here you go, you wouldn't want this weapon/armor so I dismantled it for you ! " Just remove the shards and energy from nightfall and engrams...weapons or armor instead and we choose if we want to shard them

1 RespuestaAnd also I think many others would like this... Instead of amendment materials from my purple engrams maybe 25% chance of Acendent shard, 25% enegy, 25% Radient Shard, 25% energy... Of course this Is only when you get shards or energy from an engram

2 rewards should be given- one exotic & one legendary -so getting materials in one slot isnt a huge deal and if your friend happens to get all materials u can laugh ur ass off... Unless of course it's u then u should quit playing

6 RespuestasI wouldn't mind Ascendants and Coins being a reward in the Nightfall if it were a possible addition to the Legendary or Exotic gear you earned in the gamemode. I wish I could remember which update it was mentioned in, but I could have sworn Deej said in an update way back that they were going to make it where it was possible to get 9+ Strange Coins IN ADDITION to your Nightfall reward. Well, for the past month almost all my rewards have been 9+ Strange Coins, but nothing else. If they made currencies and materials an addition to the Legendary and Exotic gear you'd earn, this wouldn't be such a big issue. However, as usual, Bungie is weird with their RNG.

5 RespuestasNever ever ever ever ever ever EVER have the no ammo modifier on ever again please. Why? Because it is absolutely zero fun to run around, dick in hand with no ammo on bosses that you have to wail on for half an hour to get them to finally die anyway. Plus I would like to never see the unflinching modifier as well because it is garbage and leads to me jumping around like a caffeinated monkey rather than using cover.
