There is really no true "earn" here. It's luck of the draw. I got my third week of launch from nightfall, where a buddy of mine got it week 10. There is no difference in level "earning" it's all luck of the draw. If you earned the coins to buy it, then you earned. If you played through nightfalls and it dropped, you earned it. Only thing you can that you actually earned, are vex and necro. Those earned by completing hard raid, and even that is luck of the draw. Who cares if people bought it or got it from a drop.
