(But the trophies dont lie!!)
Lets see what trophys have to say about destinys population, shall we!?
16.4 million people bought destiny. a couple difference census' have shown that that a large number of copies were bought for both systems. on the playstation dashboard, in the trophy collection it shows the % of how many people worked hard enough to get certain trophies. even if the number of people who synced they trophies is less then the amount of people who have, there is a large enough control group of people who have, to gather the data that we are looking at today. so we will use all 16.4 million copies sold world wide today. you can get away with 1% of the population as a control group that would be 164,000. guaranteed there is more than 164,000 playstations synced. most people want 5% when dealing with millions of people. this still only equals to 820,000. a fraction of the number of sales. so lets get to it!
17.6% of people have completed the raid and 11% have completed the hard raid. thats 2.8 million people who beat regular, and 1.8 million people who have beaten hard.
You know what other game less than 20% of people didnt get to the end game? DIABLO 3.
What about weapons, since not everyone raids and some people just pvp, grind dailys?
18.3 % of people have played destiny enough to get a fully upgraded legendary. 3 million people fully upgraded legendary, and and 2.2 million have fully upgraded exotics.
15%( i dont have my playstation here, but all three are around 15-16% so im grouping them together, even though they are separate trophies)of people have done enough grinding to get warlock/hunter/titans sub classes maxed out. which means 2.4 million people have played one of 6 sub classes enough to get them maxed out.
Im willing to bet that 1-1.5 million of these are the "hardcores" who have all three..
this is the one stat that i believe stands above all else all you have to do is complete bounties. its not new armour, or weapons that you would get randomly. its a pure statistic, because it does not require you to do anything other than what you already are doing.
destiny is not the game bungie wanted it to be.

1 RespuestaIt's called 'Sex Panther.' 60% of the time it works everytime.

1 RespuestaAm I the only one who isn't seeing the point he's trying to get at?
-
They are actually pretty good figures. Just check around most games with 5 hour campaigns and you will see they usually only get finished by about 10% of people who play them.
-
4 RespuestasThis post really doesn't have a point in it that I can see (my opinion) and these seem to be just a bunch of numbers that are really interesting but what is your argument or point??
-
9 RespuestasThe only thing your rambling proves is you really care about Destiny lol.
-
1 RespuestaJust because only 18% have fully upgraded a legendary doesn't mean only 18% of people who have bought the game still play. The only way to find out how many people are playing is to look at the actual player stats. Quack quack.
-
1 RespuestaSheeeeiiiit "destiny is dying?" I need to tell everyone I play with that someone on the forums told me that "destiny is dying." We're all gonna quit for sure.

5 RespuestasEditado por Some Black Guy: 2/13/2015 4:52:27 PM16+ million registered users is a lot lol. Well, these are empty numbers, that don't really mean anything; because no real context is given. Honestly, all it's saying is that 16 million people have registered accounts, and that the average player spends 3 hours a day playing the game. However, it says nothing about actual player counts on a daily basis, which would prove how many people are actually playing everyday. It was 3.2 million players on a daily basis in October-December, but since the holiday sales, that number would rise a bit obviously. Until we get those numbers, we won't know 100%. Of course, you can make your own calculations from various aspects, and also see that from the current dlc path, whether or not it will gain players, or lose them.

2 RespuestasIdc ima keep playing

2 RespuestasWhere are you getting the 16.4 mil number from? Your own source only shows a total of 9.78 mil copies sold globally across all 4 platforms. Of those, 6.04 mil copies were sold to PS users.

1 RespuestaEven in your own post you say you might be off by a few million or so while trying to prove your point. Why would anyone take anything you say with value. Your math could be drastically off.

Less that 20% have completed a raid... Holy...

5 RespuestasAny set of statistics in isolation can be used to support either side of an argument. If you told the world of destiny "MY JUNK IS HUGE, IT'S 4" LONG!!!!!" and didn't provide any other statistics, then a lot of people might believe you. But if you provided them with the average junk length, you might as well just head back downstairs into your parents basement and post other subject matter on the forums. So here are some questions (that I personally don't have the inclination to look up) 1. What is the end game completion rate of the average next gen game? 2. What is the average "hard core" user base for a successful franchise (halo? COD? WoW?) 3. What is the average purchase rate for a sequel? What if 16 million is a lot for a first game sale? What if the average end game completion rate is 5%? What if an attrition rate from 16 million down to 2-3 million hard core gamers is a really good number for a next gen game? What if the average sequel repurchase rate is 50% and what if destiny sells 10million copies of destiny 2? Until you provide comparisons for all your statistics, you're blowing hot air and making yourself look like a basement dweller with 4" of unused junk.

5 Respuestas16.4 million people bought Destiny. 16.4 million people have made terrible life choices.
-
3 RespuestasPersonally the less people that are playing the less chance for me to be constantly kicked from their servers. Destiny is just like any game. People pick it up and play it for a few weeks then pick up the newest game and play it. Did you expect Destiny to be any different?
-
4 RespuestasDude I figured this out along tine ago. They sold 13 mill copies of Destiny not 16. I do the math when DeeJ says about how many people did what and when. So I agree only around 1-2 million still play destiny. They lost @10 million gamers in 5 months.
-
2 RespuestasXb1 actually out sold ps4 on destiny, same with 360 over PS3,....
-
6 RespuestasActually these are your personal estimates, not legitimate facts. In order for them to be legit, they need to be peer reviewed by a reputable source and verified, not just speculation by a gamer. Sorry.

3 RespuestasThe only thing that I think we could all agree on are that all 16 million copies of this game aren't still being played. That does not however support the idea that the game is dying. Most of the people on my friends list still play a few times a week. A few of them still play daily. So, has the number of daily players probably fallen off? Sure. But those numbers will rise again at HOW and then again for the comet, etc. This game is doing fine. It will continue to do fine. Also, no matter how many people try to convince me this game sucks, it doesn't. I'm not a Bungie fan boy just because I don't let other people, websites, streamers, or you tubers tell me why I should be dissapointed in a GAME.
-
1 RespuestaWe all knew these numbers whats new here? All i get from it is 1% use the forums and cry saying we all need this and that nerf this fix that when 99% dont think so cause they dont care about coming to the Forums. Also most people have not tryed the raid yet there's tons of people i run into that have said maybe one day they will try one of them.
-
5 RespuestasSo roughly 1.7 million people completed the ultimate endgame (raids)? That in my mind is a pretty solid amount!
-
Ofcause Destiny is dying - Destiny didnt even made it to the top 20 list of games bought on the ps store for January, neither in ps4 or ps3, I bet theres more people leaving this lie than coming. I remember how Bungie promissed during the E3 gameplay trailer that the weapons wouldnt be changed like in other games, that they want the weapons to be personal for each player and take alot of time to max out- and most important, diversity in the weapons... There isnt any diversity to the weapons, the customization is a joke... I can customize my rifle more in bloody CoD! :/
