I don't know if that's possible. Dig Dug has more of a story than Destiny.

Halo 3. It not only has a terrible story, it ruins the previous stories.

It's fairly obvious that the devs behind destiny took inspiration from souls. However that style of storytelling simply does not work in destiny and I doubt it ever will

I'm not sure if you can even consider that a campaign...

I agree that it was lacking in character development and they only gave us closure of a confusing and vague storyline. It was actually about as long as most FPS campaigns. One thing people fail to grasp is that they were trying to do a Souls style plot, but I think they actually gave us too much story and that's what ruined it. It didn't help that many NPCs straight up said that they would not tell you what's going on, rather than being properly vague and letting you figure things out for yourself. Most FPS games had pretty thin plots, some had better character development, but it's a little harder to develop a player character in a RPG unless they are a static character like Locke in DA2. I do my best not to buy games with a poor plot/story, as that's why I play most games I buy. So of my current collection of PS3/4 games, these have disappointed me: Aliens Colonial Marines - while not as bad as many claim, it was pretty rough around the edges. But it did let me run around in canon environments from the movie, so yeah. Aliens vs. Predator - super generic boring ass plot, even with the collectables it was a copy/paste aliens plot. I liked the predator lore in the game, but that was about it. Borderlands 1 - to be fair, I never got very far into the game. I wanted something that would satiate some of my post-Fallout hunger, but it didn't do it. Various CoD games - some I liked, some were terrible. I played them like the bad action movies they wanted to be, so it was pure shameful fun, but a plot... Not so much. Grand Theft Auto 4 - was the plot good? I have no idea, after taking my cousin on dates for 3 hours and watching the game try to run on my PS3 was more than I could take. Homefront - Red Dawn part 2? It felt like a CoD game with a different enemy, which is where they went with Ghosts and both were terrible; surpassed only by my disappointment in AW. Killzone - all of them, WW2 in space. Bad console exclusive IP is bad. Rage - so much potential, fun game, ultimately a letdown. But you know what, that new Mad Max game looks like it might be everything Rage should have been... We shall see though, movie tie-ins are usually terrible. Resistance - same as Killzone, but I actually enjoyed Resistance. InFamous Second Son - The plot itself wasn't terrible, but the game was really short and getting to the plot was a grind. It gets some reprieve for letting me hang out in pseudo-Seattle after moving back to Arizona. The Order 1886 - ok, mixed bag on this one. The game is gorgeous, the plot was ok (Underworld 1886), but in the end it felt like the beginning of a story and not a full game. I doubt we'll be seeing a series of them, but who knows. Wolfenstein The New Order - cool idea, 1960s -godwinslaw!- have been done many time throughout literature and movies, so it felt stale. But it's a Wolfenstein game, it's supposed to be about action right? One bonus, it reminded me of Rage once you got to the mission hub and had some elements that reminded me of Fallout, so it pulled some nostalgia strings. But that may have served to upset me... I bought a lot of terrible games for the PS2 and other consoles over the years, but I don't feel like digging those up at the moment. So let's just say, Destiny could have been a lot worse.

Borderlands 1 was pretty bad. About equal to destiny.
