I am an original 2014 D1 player. I have truly enjoyed the game generally. I am mostly a PVE junkie. But, I have tried to get into PVP from time to time. I especially have enjoyed Iron Banner. I would just like to let the developers know, if you are reading this, that skill based match making is a great thing for players like me. I quit PVP totally a few years ago when you stopped SBMM. Getting totally blown out in every match by highly skilled players with only 1 or 2 kills and a .3 KD is not enjoyable. With your recent changes to match making, i can now compete similar to the way I was able to with the form of SBMM that you had long ago. I actually enjoyed the last Iron Banner event. I know there are a lot of people who disagree with this opinion. But, if your objective is to get more casual players into PVP, then making matches more even with similarly skilled players is a much more enjoyable experience for a less skilled player like me.

SBMM was the biggest mistake in D2 PvP since Airborne Effectiveness.

You've played a whooping 24 QUICKPLAY matches since the start of the season, which was December 9th - or 42 days ago. So you're averaging not even 2 quickplay games a day. Granted you played a lot of Iron Banner, but you've also played a lot of Gambit. So once again, casuals are handed the easiest PvP possibly by Bungie and casuals still only going to casual when it comes to PvP. This isn't going to "bolster the PvP" numbers. Look, I'm happy you're having fun with PvP right now, however what you're basically saying is "I'm fine with sacrificing the gaming experience of other players with terrible SBMM Lag lobbies as long as the 1 to 2 games a day I play are more fun, thanks!"

14 RespuestasThere needs to be both and there's no good reason to not have both options. SBMM in competitive playlists. CBMM in quickplay. How it should be. Always.

I don’t know man why don’t you just get slightly better so you have a chance at least? It’s really not that hard to practice a few matches with your pve buddies in some private rumble

1 RespuestaI’d say pvp can improve many ways mainly with the community side of it but I agree finding ways to make more competitive outcomes is a great way to increase the amount of players. I also like the idea of more game modes that encourage team play versus playing as a lone wolf. Lone wolf game play models don’t encourage team play. Building a community that wants all of its players having fun is best possible outcome. As far as the recent iron banner, it was fun but I hope they continue to find ways to tweak the game mode. Sadly players once again found ways to play the mode in a manner that was most likely not intended. All that said I’m looking forward to future iron banner content.
